PLAY FAST AND LOOSE - Driver T Cameron was questioned in relation to the deafeners not being activated until near the 40m mark in the run home. Mr Cameron explained that he had been reluctant to release the deafeners earlier as the filly had been trotting roughly and had galloped in similar circumstances at its previous start. Stewards noted Mr Cameron's comments. | |

SLAINTE - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Broke near the 1300m when trailing the field. Connections advised that the gelding had cast the near hind shoe during the running. | |
CHESINOV - broke approaching the first turn after briefly locking sulky wheels with an outside runner when taking evasive action to avoid the breaking SLAINTE and lost all chance. | |

MENTALIST - Driver D Ferguson defended a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) alleging that he shifted his gelding inwards near the 1500m when not sufficiently clear of TOPAZ CASTLETON (T Mitchell) which was checked and broke losing all chance. After viewing the replays and hearing the relative evidence the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and suspended Mr Ferguson's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 25 October up to and including 11 November 2024 (5 days). | |

SPIRITED PEGGY - Driver M Ranger reported that the the off side sulky tyre had punctured near the 150m. Stewards will follow up with Ms Ranger in the coming days. It was subsequently established that the tyre had punctured when contacted by the over-racing SCOTT with no further action deemed necessary on this occasion. | |
BETA PREPARE - shifted in when leading passing the 1200m when appearing to shy and raced over several track markers having to be corrected by Driver D Butcher. Authorisation of this runner's 1st placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that any inconvenience to trailing runners had not affected the outcome of the race. Trainer J Young (SPIRITED PEGGY - 2nd place) declined the opportunity to protest and all clear was then given on the Judge's placings. | |
LOOKATME CHRISTY - paced roughly late in the score up and over the early stages. Broke briefly near the 800m and continued to pace roughly losing ground. A final warning was placed on the geldings racing manners. | |

IM NOT THE MAID - weakened late in the run home. | |
CRACKER ROCK - removed from the unruly for future mobiles. Appeared to lay in on several occasions over the final stages. | |
Stewards concluded their investigation into BARBAROSSA (Driver D Butcher) being held up when in restricted room throughout the home straight. After hearing the relative evidence and viewing the replays Driver N Chilcott (IT'S NAE OR NEVER) was warned for allowing her runner to shift out over the early stages of the run home. In considering this matter Stewards took into account that CRACKER ROCK had lay in over the final stages, despite the efforts of Driver T Mitchell, contributing to the incident. |
