Race 1   BOOK YOUR MARQUEE NOW FOR 20TH DECEMBER MOBILE PACE
LEDGER'S MAID - lay inwards rounding the bends and struck track markers near the 900m. Held up leaving the final bend.
COCK A HOOP - over-raced in the parked position through the middle stages. Weakened final bend. When asked to comment on the performance driver J Cox advised that the mare had over-raced at various stages during the running and this had taken its toll.
Race 2   GIL SHIRLEY MEMORIAL HANDICAP TROT
GARONNE - trotted roughly rounding the first bend.
JOE KENNEDY - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer B Gray.
BROTHER JOHNSON - lay inwards over the concluding stages.
MADISON'S MOON - lay inwards and raced inside a track marker on the final bend. Authorisation of 2nd placing was withheld until the Stewards were satisfied that the filly had not gained an advantage at this stage of the race.
FATHER ON DOWN - raced wide on the track for a distance near the 1550m which allowed BROTHER JOHNSON to shift ground outwards to race in the running line. Over-raced middle stages. Broke passing the 800m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
Race 3   WOODLANDS STUD RACE DAY FRIDAY 22ND NOVEMBER MOBILE PACE
ACE OF SPADES - lay outwards rounding the final bend.
CALIFORNIA DREAMING - connections advised the gelding has had a wind operation and its hocks treated since last racing.
HOGIE - raced greenly for a distance when leading near the 900m.
HE'S ROBYN - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver M Hill. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Lost contact with the field for a distance from the 700m.
DISCO INFERNO - paced roughly late in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Held up for clear racing room in the final straight until passing the 100m.
Race 4   BURGESS MASONRY LTD / SETARIP SYNDICATE MOBILE PACE
TASHS BAD GIRL - hampered by a weakening runner near the 700m.
FABRICATE - weakened from the 700m hampering a trailing runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a poor recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
CLOSE - lay inwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Continued to lay inwards at various stages during the running proving difficult for driver B Orange.
MAGIC SIGN - locked sulky wheels briefly with EMERALD ABBEY near the 300m. Stewards spoke with drivers H Douglas (MAGIC SIGN) and P Hunter (EMERALD ABBEY) where it was established that MAGIC SIGN had attempted to shift EMERALD ABBEY wider on the track however MAGIC SIGN had hung outwards and EMERALD ABBEY was slow react to the movement. After viewing the films Stewards could not apportion blame to any one driver or horse and accordingly the matter was taken no further.
EMERALD ABBEY - broke leaving the final bend losing all chance after locking sulky wheels briefly with MAGIC SIGN.
SHERWOOD MAGGIE - over-raced in the middle stages. Held up throughout the run home only gaining clear racing room in the latter stages.
ROBYNS ART - paced roughly shortly after the start.
ROBYNS HUSTLER - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 5   WOODLANDS MOTORS MOBILE PACE
The start of this race was delayed approximately 6 minutes due firstly to St John Ambulance personnel attending to driver P Hunter and secondly the sulky tyre on SHOWCASE deflating in the preliminary requiring a change of sulky. As a consequence, Stewards showed leniency in assessing horse penalties for this race due to the long delay.
SHOWCASE - the near side number came adrift during the running.
HERE'S JOHNY - fractious and reared in the pre-race circle dislodging driver P Hunter from the sulky who was uninjured. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts at the request of trainer P Hunter.
RAKAMICK - broke passing the 1400m losing all chance.
WAIKAKA MAGIC - lay out in the score up and was out of position at the candy pole. Placed in restricted room over the concluding stages.
CAPTAIN AMORE - held up over the concluding stages.
Race 6   LEVEL ONE RESTAURANT & BAR HANDICAP TROT
TOP OF THE HILL - broke leaving the final bend losing all chance.
JACCKA BAYLIS - weakened from the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be showing signs of possible muscle tie-up and a poor recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
SAMANTHAS MOON - lay outwards in the home straight on each occasion. Driver K Green was warned for crossing her reins and performing a celebratory gesture prior to the winning post.
AVEROSS MAJESTY - weakened final bend.
MISSILE - trotted roughly in the run home with driver B Williamson unable to drive the gelding out in consequence.
Race 7   REGENT CAR COURT MOBILE PACE
NO ADDED SUGAR - raced wider on the track near the 1400m when JENNY GUMP shifted ground outwards. After viewing replays, it was established that driver S Walkinshaw (JENNY GUMP) had commenced his outwards movement prior to NO ADDED SUGAR reaching his sulky wheel, accordingly no further action was required. Placed in restricted room by an inside runner rounding the final bend and breaking near the 300m then locked sulky wheels with HAZER leaving the final bend and losing all chance.
ARTMORE - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend.
TEN DA TOUCH - made contact with NO ADDED SUGAR near the 300m when that runner was placed in restricted room. Driver H Douglas reported he had difficulty steering the gelding during the running.
FRANCO HUNTINGTON - shifted ground outwards near the 300m and locked sulky wheels with NO ADDED SUGAR which broke in consequence losing its chance. Driver J Morrison admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) that he drove carelessly in this incident. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Morrison's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 28 October until the conclusion of racing on 04 November 2024, 4 days and imposed a fine of $300.
JENNY GUMP - lay inwards when weakening rounding the final bend contacting track markers.
HAZER - locked wheels with the breaking NO ADDED SUGAR leaving the final bend and broke in consequence losing all chance.
LOU'S DEAL - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend.
ALWAYS B THERE - broke rounding the first bend hampering trailing runners losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Driver C Ferguson reported that the gelding had been striking the wheel discs.
THE WULVER - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend.
SAGWITCH - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the final bend.
NYLA - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend.
Race 8   THE DARK HORSE MARES HANDICAP TROT
GALLEONS AMBASSADOR - broke passing the 150m hampering an outside runner.
EMILY - briefly hampered by a breaking runner passing the 150m.
HIDDEN TALENT - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner losing all chance and was retired from the event by driver N Williamson.
MAJESTIC LOVE - shifted sideways after the start.
BURNING LOVE - broke rounding the first bend losing all chance.
SHEZA GIFT - briefly hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Lay inwards on the bend near the 800m.
RUSH - broke passing the 200m losing all chance.
EUROSTYLE - connections advised the mare has been treated for a virus since last racing. Driver K Butt reported she did not release the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
AROHA KENNY - raced three wide without cover from the 1000m.
Race 9   SETARIP SYNDICATE MOBILE PACE
BISMARCK DU PLESSIS - broke passing the 1400m losing all chance after being contacted by an outside runner which lay inwards.
RAKNRUIN - lay inwards rounding the first bend despite the efforts of driver B Barclay contacting an inside runner which broke in consequence. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly.
Race 10   BURGESS MASONRY LTD MOBILE PACE
RYLAN CHARLIE - weakened from the 700m. Driver S Ottley reported the gelding to have made abnormal breathing noises. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a very high respiratory rate. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
BOWLEM OVER - lay inwards on the final bend contacting a track marker.
FLYING ELLIE - lay inwards over the concluding stages having to be straightened by driver N Williamson.
