Race 1   SPEEDING SPUR TENDER BY 1 NOV NORTHERN METRO HT 1 MOB TROT
A false start was declared when EAGLE HANOVER broke late in the score up hampering BRAVEHEARTHIGHLANDER.
EAGLE HANOVER - a warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners.
BANGKOK BETTY - connections advised that the mare cast the off hind shoe during the running.
BRIENNE - Driver P Ferguson had difficulty activating the removable deafeners in the run home.
SHESGOLD - raced wide early. Held up early in the run home.
ITAINTNECESSARILYSO - broke at the start losing ground. Weakened from the 400m.
A TROPHY WIFE - raced wide early and middle stages before crossing to the parked position near the 900m.
HUGHIE WALLACE - held up early in the run home.
BRAVEHEARTHIGHLANDER - Co-Trainers R & J Dunn were issued a warning for not having the correct colours available. Pulled hard score up. Raced fiercely over the early stages before breaking near the 1250m losing its chance.
SANS AU REVOIR - raced wide throughout and without cover from the 900m.
Stewards extended leniency in assessing horse penalties given the false start.
Race 2   THE ALEX BAR & EATERY SOUTH OF THE BOMBAYS COND MOBILE PACE
WATCH YOUR BACK - broke briefly early in the score up hampering a second row runner but was in position by the candy pole. Raced keenly middle stages. Lay in contacting track markers near the 250m.
KATIES PRINCESS - Driver N Chilcott was warned for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
KOURTNEY KARDASH - raced wide early before securing a position midfield in the running line. When questioned regarding the performance Driver T Herlihy could offer no explanation for what he considered to be a disappointing run.
CAULFIELD - hampered briefly in the score up.
Race 3   DAWSON HARFORD NORTHERN METRO SERIES HEAT 1 MOBILE PACE
ROUGH AND READY - lay in and dislodged a track marker near the 1250m.
DAWSON - Driver T Herlihy reported that he didn't activated the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
ALWAYS BE MATTIE - when questioned regarding the performance Driver M White stated that after having restrained from the wide barrier early the gelding had been unable to make up ground with the fast closing sectionals.
Race 4   SWEET LOU AT WOODLANDS TENDER BY 1 NOV 2YO MOBILE PACE
BEACHBREAK - raced keenly middle stages.
CAPTAINS SECRET - broke racing into the first turn losing ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
BRUNTWOOD BRIGADE - lay in rounding the turns.
CAPTAIN SAMPSON - Driver T Cameron reported that he didn't active the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
DEBRIEF - lay in contacting several track markers near the 1400m.
Race 5   BORDER FENCING SERVICES NORTHERN METRO SERIES HT 2 MOB TROT
LOVE ON LINE - Driver T Hanara was warned for using her whip free of the rein on one occasion in the run home.
IT AIN'T ME BABE - checked by an outside runner entering the first turn and broke losing ground. Weakened in the run home.
SANINARMBRO - lay in approaching the first turn despite the efforts of driver R Downey checking an inside runner then broke hampering a trailing runner and lost ground. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
RUBY RIDGE - raced wide early. Broke near the 250m.
WINNERS TIME - raced wide with cover early. Raced wide from the 950m. Commenced to weaken final turn then trotted roughly after the removable deafeners came adrift and became entangled around the gelding's near hind.
FEARLESS - raced wide with cover early. Raced wide with cover from the 950m.
ONE MORE MOMENT - held up over the final 100m.
TAYLAD TO USE - lay in rounding the final turn.
BOLT FOR THE HILL - hampered by a breaking runner entering the first turn.
Race 6   WOODLANDS STUD - SILK ROAD NORTHERN SERIES FINAL (MOB PACE)
ALWAYS B STUNNING - severely checked and broke rounding the first turn and was retired from the event.
DOUBLE QUICK - lay in and broke rounding the first turn severely checking ALWAYS B STUNNING and was retired from the event. A warning was placed on the filly's racing manners.
COURTNEY ROSE - raced wide early.
MHAI SURFER GIRL - held up throughout the run home.
WHAT A MINX - checked by breaking runners near the 1450m losing ground.
Authorisation of all placings was withheld due to the race having been run over 1609m rather than the official distance of 1700m. It was established that the incorrect distance had been included in the Club's racebook and this error had not been detected in the normal pre meeting checking procedure. Stewards filed an information seeking a ruling from the Adjudicative Committee under Rule 1106(2) as to whether the race should be declared void. After hearing submissions from Stewards and viewing the replays the Adjudicative Committee declared the event a race and all clear on the Judge's placings was then given accordingly.
Race 7   LATHER UP TENDER BY 1 NOV NORTHERN METRO HT 2 MOBILE PACE
AYE AYE CAPTAIN - held up final turn.
LOUEZYANA - paced roughly approaching the 250m.
INVISIBLE - raced wide early.
Race 8   CLASSIQUE LANDSCAPERS HAPPY BIRTHDAY - NIGEL MASON MOB PACE
THE ARTFUL GAMBLER - weakened in the run home.
WALTZING WITH MIKI - had to be steadied near the 1800m.
DOUBLE PARKED - permission was granted for this runner to come to the mobile early after having become fractious when parading. The gelding then refused to follow the mobile in the initial stages of the score up with a false start being declared when it swung around getting a sulky shaft across its rump. Required assistance from an Attendant in the initial stages of the restart. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
Race 9   GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND PUKEKOHE HANDICAP TROT
HEARTBREAK HOTEL - removed from the unruly for future stands. Lay out under pressure in the run home despite the efforts of Driver D Ferguson. Connections advised that the gelding cast the near fore shoe near the 1600m.
HENRIK LUNDQVIST - pre-race warmed. Over-raced middle stages. Trotted roughly rounding the final turn losing ground. Junior Driver D Grundmann (assisted by S Abernethy) was questioned with regard to appearing to take an extra turn when the field was called into line. After hearing from Mr Grundmann, Mr Abernethy, Starter F Phelan and viewing the replays Stewards took the matter no further other than to remind Mr Grundmann of his obligations.
LOTERIA - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Weakened in the run home.
FATHER BARRY - pre-race warmed. Slow early. Broke near the 150m. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
LIL WHIP - pre-race warmed.
