Race 1   GOLD BAND TAXIS AMATEUR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
IVAN THE GREAT - broke briefly shortly after the start hampering a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Hampered by a slight easing of the pace and over-raced for a distance passing the 1500m causing driver A Edge difficulty and shifted outwards near the 1350m forcing SWEET SPIRIT to race wider on the track. Lay inwards for a distance and paced roughly when being shifted wider on the track near the 950m. Again lay inwards rounding the final bend causing driver A Edge difficulty and struck the sulky wheel of ARCHIE and broke and shifted inwards checking EVIDENTLY which fell dislodging driver K McClintock. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
THE HIGHLANDER - placed in restricted room and raced over track markers near the 1500m. Held up throughout the run home.
VRILO - shifted inwards near the 1500m when insufficiently clear of THE HIGHLANDER which struck track markers and had to be restrained. Amateur driver S Manawatu admitted a breach of Rule 869(7A)(c) for causing THE HIGHLANDER to race over track markers and after viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.
SWEET SPIRIT - forced to race wider on the track near the 1350m when IVAN THE GREAT shifted outwards.
OFF THE EDGE - out of position at the candy pole. Driver C Wigg was issued a warning.
EVIDENTLY - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Checked when IVAN THE GREAT broke and shifted inwards rounding the final bend and fell dislodging driver K McClintock. Mr McClintock was examined by St John paramedics and cleared of injury. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormalities.
Race 2   DANCINGINTHEDARK M (USA) TROT
INQUIZITIVE MAN - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
FIVE MONKEYS - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 950m.
HOOFN IT - over-raced throughout.
KOKO KABOOM - lay inwards early in the run home having to be corrected by driver S Lethaby.
ELLAMON - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner losing ground.
KISS ME KATE - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts. Broke again near the 1800m and 1500m losing all chance.
LYALLDALE TROUBLE - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Broke near the 950m hampering a trailing runner.
Race 3   BOOK YOUR CHRISTMAS PARTY WITH US AT ADDINGTON PACE
HANOI FRANCO - broke at the start losing ground. Held up early in the run home.
THE FINISHER - forced to race wide from the 800m.
SPECTATOR - broke shortly after the start and continued on in a break hampering a trailing runner near the 1700m losing all chance.
MICHAEL EYRE - paced roughly near the 200m.
LET'S GO RINGO - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1700m. Lay inwards and struck track markers rounding the final bend. Driver R Close reported the gelding had lay inwards throughout the race causing him difficulty.
HOLLY K - when questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange advised that the mare had to work hard through the middle stages to obtain the lead which may have taken its toll on this runner.
FAST ACE - tangled away.
Race 4   McMILLAN EQUINE FEEDS NZ JNR DRIVER CHAMPS (HEAT 3) MOB PACE
MOET SHARD - fractious in the pre-race formation requiring assistance from a Starting Attendant. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
JUDINE - raced wide early and was restrained to the rear of the field.
DENNIS DENUTO - held up middle stages of the run home.
BETTOR BE SHARP - driver C Hackett advised she was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
Race 5   ROAD METALS MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared when WRIGGLES RUFUS broke a crupper in the score up. There was a delay to the restart when WRIGGLES RUFUS required replacement gear to be fitted. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
WRIGGLES RUFUS - locked wheels with KALATRA late in the run home.
THE BETTOR MAJOR - raced wide early.
KING ARTHUR - late scratching at 4.00pm on Veterinary advice.
KALATRA - locked wheels with WRIGGLES RUFUS late in the run home.
GATECRASHER - lay inwards in the run home having to be corrected by driver R Harrison.
EXECUTIVE BANNER - paced roughly at various stages. Lay inwards throughout the run home. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities other than minor swelling on the inside of the near hind canon bone.
Race 6   GARRARDS MOBILE PACE
BELMONT VALOR - trainer D Williamson was issued a warning for not having the correct colours available. Lay outwards at various stages throughout.
ESTER LUCY - over-raced at various stages throughout.
RUTHERFORD - driver R Close advised the gelding had paced roughly in the run home.
Race 7   McMILLAN EQUINE FEEDS NZ JUNIOR DRIVER CHAMPS (HEAT 4) TROT
NATIVES INFERNO - broke at the start losing all chance. Authorisation of placings was withheld after driver S Hill wished to view replays of the start where it was confirmed he had received a fair start.
OSMIUM - broke at the start losing all chance.
MONARCH PRINCE - broke at the start losing ground.
CRAZY N LOVE - trotted roughly in the run home.
LOVE POTION - paced away at the start and shifted outwards hampering an outside runner losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Weakened final bend.
MEANDAD - hampered by a breaking runner at the start and broke losing all chance.
BULLIT TRAIN - pre-race warmed. Trotted roughly shortly after the start having to be steadied by driver S Thornley losing ground.
BUFFY NORTHSTAINS - lay inwards and struck track markers near the 1500m. Again lay inwards striking track markers rounding the final bend.
DANCING GLENIS - shifted outwards near the 2100m with THE CHASE racing wider on the track. Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule where it was established that DANCING GLENIS had commenced to shift outwards prior to THE CHASE reaching its sulky wheel and no further action was required. Over-raced and trotted roughly through the middle stages.
BOYZ INVASION - broke at the start losing all chance.
THE CHASE - raced wider on the track for a distance passing the 2100m after DANCING GLENIS shifted outwards. Weakened from the 600m.

LORD MUDRICK - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the middle stages of the run home.
