Trainers were directed to affix mudguards to their sulkies.

Due to a power outage with the supply to the course following Race 7 the final two races were delayed. The new start times were as follows:

Race 1   GORE SEPTIC TANK SERVICES / ZILCO MOBILE PACE
SHEZZA VINNY - held up for clear racing room throughout the run home.
Race 2   GRAY RACING STABLES / BRENT BARCLAY MOBILE PACE
SHOWCASE - the near side number came adrift during the running.
BIG VINNIE - trainer K Green admitted a breach of the Mudguards Regulation in that she failed to affix mudguards to the sulky and was fined $100 by the Adjudicative Committee. Hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
HERE'S JOHNY - broke shortly after the start checking trailing runners and losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
ARETHA - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
Race 3   SUREGRIP MATS NZ MOBILE PACE
CRUISING FONTANA - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
CRANACHAN - trainer B McIntyre was warned for failing to affix mudguards to the sulky.
PHILADELPHIA LAD - trainer C Barron was warned for failing to affix mudguards to the sulky. Broke rounding the first bend losing ground. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
Race 4   AON FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
GATI - trainer T Stratford was warned for failing to affix mudguards to the sulky.
RAGING NATIVE - weakened from the 500m hampering trailing runners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have a slow recovery. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
ALWAYS A MENACE - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver M Williamson. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Over-raced through the middle stages. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 500m.
BUBBLE ME - hampered by a weakening runner near the 500m. Stewards questioned driver K Green regarding the tactics she adopted through the middle stages, in particular near the 800m when electing to remain in the running line as opposed to shifting out and progressing forward. Miss Green advised that the filly was not travelling well enough to progress into the race without cover and so she elected to retain her position and wait to trail another runner forward, however the filly then failed to finish the race off as she expected and had proved disappointing. Stewards noted the comments.
WAKAI HANA - the offside sulky wheel was contacted by a trailing runner near the 600m.
LOTTIE'S LUCK - driver A Milne was warned for the manner he drove near the 600m when allowing his runner to contact the sulky wheel of WAKAI HANA.
BABE ON THE BEACH - the required veterinary clearance was received.
Race 5   UDY'S GRAIN & FEED LTD / REGIONAL FORD GORE HANDICAP TROT
TOP POCKET CHANCE - weakened final bend.
OUR PINOCCHIO - slow to begin. Broke after 150m losing all chance.
Race 6   BOND RACING / STRATFORD RACING STABLES MOBILE PACE
MATAURA B B - broke briefly in the score up however was in position at the start. When questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance trainer T Stratford advised that the gelding races well fresh and the forward showing was not unexpected.
EMERALD ABBEY - locked sulky stays with HOT FIZZ rounding the final bend losing all chance. Driver P Hunter reported that the mare had cast the near hind shoe rounding the final bend.
NO ADDED SUGAR - trainer T Dewe was issued with a $50 Minor Infringement for failing to affix mudguards to the sulky.
TASHS BAD GIRL - hampered by a breaking runner final bend.
SAGWITCH - weakened from the 600m. The off-hind bandage came adrift during the running. Stewards took no action due to the prevailing track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
HOT FIZZ - paced roughly and broke rounding the final bend, shifting out abruptly and locking sulky stays with EMERALD ABBEY, hampering a trailing runner and losing all chance. When questioned regarding this driver K Tomlinson advised the mare had attempted to run off the track resulting in it locking sulky stays. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
Race 7   DALLEN COVERS MOBILE PACE
CLOSE - shifted out abruptly over the concluding stages of the run home and locked sulky wheels with MAJOR ART. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
REMISSION - raced greenly whilst leading through the middle stages.
MAJOR ART - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Locked sulky wheels with CLOSE for a short distance over the concluding stages.
Race 8   HELLO WORLD TRAVEL GORE GOLD CHIP FINAL (HANDICAP TROT)
PHISHING - shifted inwards racing into the first bend despite the efforts of driver T Robertson and contacted the sulky wheel of KYLE LOCH then broke in consequence losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
MADISON'S MOON - broke at the start losing all chance.
TOP OF THE HILL - briefly held up rounding the final bend.
HAIL STONE - weakened final bend.
MAKAKU - broke at the start losing all chance.
BURNING LOVE - trotted roughly first bend.
SUPERFAST RONNIE - trotted roughly rounding the final bend and throughout the run home and was unable to be fully driven out by driver S Ottley.
Race 9   KUBALA SEEDS MOBILE PACE
BOBBIES ROCK - trainer K Green was warned after presenting the gelding with the incorrect saddle cloth number.
BETTING SENSATION - over-raced and paced roughly through the middle stages.
