Race 1   HIRE A VENUE AT CAMBRIDGE RACEWAY TROT
The start was delayed when the field was turned out of line after several runners became fractious then HENRIK LUNDQVIST reared and got a sulky shaft over its rump.
VOODLE MAGIC - commenced to weaken near the 500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality. When questioned regarding the performance Co-Trainer/Driver L Hollis could offer no explanation for the disappointing run.
SHARP IMAGE - broke entering the first turn hampering trailing runners and lost considerable ground. Broke again near the 900m losing all chance.
HENRIK LUNDQVIST - pre-race warmed. Fractious prior to the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Slow early. Hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first turn. Over-raced middle stages.
HOT JESSIE - fractious prior to the start. Broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners. Hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first turn. Broke near the 700m losing ground.
HARLEEN QUINZEL - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first turn. Broke passing the 1000m losing ground. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
Race 2   HAPPY 42nd WED. ANNIV PAUL AND DEBRA NORTON MOBILE PACE
PROVISEUR - obtained an inside run leaving the back straight the final time.
NEYMAR - broke late in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
SISTER LOVE - lay out racing down the back the final time, despite the efforts of Driver W Rich, presenting an inside run to a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners. Weakened in the run home.
RIVERBOY BEN - raced wide early. Briefly placed in restricted room rounding the final turn. Weakened in the run home.
COMMANDER LINCOLN - Driver A Sharpe admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion late in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.
MIDFREW LUCRE - pre-race warmed. Lay in rounding the final turn placing inside runners in restricted room briefly. Driver J Kriechbaumer was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion late in the run home.
DESERT DAWN - briefly placed in restricted room rounding the final turn. Driver F Phelan was warned for the manner in which he attempted to shift ground early in the run home when not in a position to move an outside runner wider. DESERT DAWN then raced in restricted room before contacting the sulky wheel of COMMANDER LINCOLN passing the 100m and paced roughly for several strides. In considering this matter Stewards took in to account that there had been movement from both COMMANDER LINCOLN and MIDFREW LUCRE which contributed to this incident.
WHITFIELD - late scratching at 10.27am on veterinary advice.
Race 3   OFF THE TRACK FOOD AND BEV MOBILE PACE
NEARER THE DRAGON - broke for several strides near the 900m. Weakened final turn.
ITS ELECTRIFYING - shifted out rounding the final turn when Driver Z Butcher activated the removable deafeners but was immediately corrected.
Race 4   OKTOBERFEST AT THE CLUBHOUSE TICKETS ON SALE NOW HCP TROT
ORDAINED - lay in and contacted a track marker near the 250m.
MR MUSCLE - had to be straightened by an Attendant after the start was delayed briefly when the 10m runners were slow to turn into position.
ROMEO FOXTROT - lay in and weakened rounding the final turn.
EAGLE HANOVER - broke rounding the first turn losing ground.
SANS AU REVOIR - connections reported that the mare had cast her off fore shoe during the running.
HIGHVIEW ROCKN ROLL - broke shortly after the start hampering a trailing runner then settled in a pace having to be broken up and lost all chance.
HUGHIE WALLACE - broke at the start losing all chance.
MAZEPPA - hampered by a breaking runner approaching the first turn. Broke near the 150m losing its chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
JOCA'S HILL - pre-race warmed. Broke shortly after the start losing its chance. Broke again near the 1500m when trailing the field.
Race 5   CHRISTMAS AT THE RACEWAY TICKETS ON SALE NOW MOBILE PACE
SPIRITED PEGGY - weakened in the run home. When questioned Driver M Ranger could offer no explanation for the disappointing run. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality. Trainer J Young advised that the mare may have tied up as she has done previously. Stewards will follow up with Mr Young in the coming days.
SCOTT - Driver D Ferguson was spoken to advisedly in relation to allowing his gelding to trail up too hard on the back of INLOUOF near the 300m placing Driver T Cameron at some disadvantage.
LOOKATME CHRISTY - paced roughly rounding the first turn. Lay in near the 1200m contacting a track marker. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
Race 6   IRT. YOUR HORSE. OUR PASSION MOBILE PACE
C U THERE - obliged to race parked from the 1400m after unsuccessfully attempting to regain the lead.
MAJOR MAJOR - tended to shift out under pressure in the run home.
CHEER ME ON - Driver D Butcher reported that the off side hopple shortener had become entangled around the connecting strap after having released correctly.
CONRAD H - broke for several strides shortly after the start. A final warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Raced wide from the 1100m.
RAKERO SCOTTY - lay in passing the 1400m and was taken up the track before regaining a position in the running line near the 1150m. Weakened from the 800m. A post-race veterinary examination no obvious abnormality. A final warning was placed on the gelding's racing performance.
Race 7   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS MOBILE PACE
IT'S NAE OR NEVER - back from position at dispatch. Driver N Chilcott was issued with a warning. Over-raced middle stages.
BENJAMIN BUTTON - weakened late in the run home.
Race 8   QUIZ NIGHT AT THE CLUBHOUSE EVERY WEDNESDAY TROT
TOPAZ CASTLETON - broke rounding the first turn losing its chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
PRESIDENT FLYNNTIN - broke near the 1850m losing its chance.
WISH FOR FISH - lay in rounding the turns and in particular the final turn contacting and dislodging track markers. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
COSMIC ANGEL - broke for several strides at the start. Driver D Butcher reported that he had not activated the removable deafeners due to the mare trotting roughly and that he would be recommending a gear change to connections.
ELIZABETH HILL - hampered by an inside runner in the run home.
ASTERIA LAVRA - shifted out in the run home hampering the 2nd placed ELIZABETH HILL (J Dickie). Stewards withheld authorisation of 1st placing until Mr Dickie confirmed that his chances of winning had not been affected.
CHESINOV - raced wide early. Broke near the 1600m losing its chance.
SLAINTE - broke rounding the first turn when attempting to hold a position in the running line losing ground. Broke again near the 800m after having been shifted wider on the track losing its chance.
QUERCUS RUBRA - broke approaching the first turn losing ground with the mare slipping her over-check whilst in the gallop. Broke again near the 1100m losing considerable ground.
SONSOFTHEMERCH - broke under pressure near the 100m. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
