A false start was declared when DESTINY'S DREAM broke in the score up checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Driver J Morrison elected to move to the unruly position for the restart where the mare will remain for future mobile starts.
DESTINY'S DREAM - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room early in the run home.
GIMMESOMELOVIN - crowded by an outside runner near the 200m and broke briefly.
BELMONT VALOR - late scratching at 9.08am on Veterinary advice.
SIDESHOW BRUCE - raced wide early. Lay inwards near the 200m placing an inside runner in restricted room despite the efforts of driver R Anderson. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
VERDUCCI - held up throughout the run home. Driver J Young-Grant advised she did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
ALWAYS BEE GEE - lay outwards at various stages in the run home having to be corrected by driver S Thornley.

FRANCO ELVIS - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room early in the run home.
THE DIAMOND HUNTER - paced roughly in the early stages.
ZARLINI - broke at the start and shifted outwards and locked wheels with FRANCO CHAPLIN with trailing runners also being checked. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
SWIFTNSWEET - held up in the middle stages of the run home.
MOONLITE - checked at the start losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer A Stuart.
REVOLUTION - broke at the start checking an inside runner losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts. Co-trainer/driver C DeFilippi advised he will be restricting the gelding to mobile starts in the immediate future.
SEASIDE POND - driver R Anderson was issued a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
LONNEKERS - broke briefly at the start and was slow in the early stages. Broke again near the 900m when trailing the field losing all chance and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
FRANCO CHAPLIN - checked and locked wheels with ZARLINI at the start unbalancing driver J Morrison and lost all chance.
FREEDOMS BEAUTY - checked at the start losing all chance.
Race 5   RANUI HOUSE-BONE MARROW CANCER TRUST TROT
The start was aborted when Starter R Donnelly was not satisfied with the manner in which the horses had addressed the barrier after NOAH MAGNIFIC had been fractious causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
NOAH MAGNIFIC - backed away as the start was effected losing ground. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer D Burrows.
SPEEDING SPIRIT - the near side number came adrift during the running. Held up until late in the run home.
EYRE I WILL - broke near the 1400m losing ground.
BULLIT TRAIN - pre-race warmed. Held up early and middle stages of the run home. Driver B Orange reported he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
SINNER COOL - broke after 100m losing ground.
MOA MOJITO - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
BOYZ INVASION - when questioned regarding the improved performance driver W House advised the gelding had performed well on the course previously and had received an economical run.
Race 6   TOWNLEY RACING (JUNIOR DRIVERS) MOBILE PACE
THE FINISHER - held up throughout the run home. Driver M Holbrough advised she did not activate the sliding blinds in consequence.
BROMAC TIMES - junior driver Z Meredith, assisted by HRNZ Development Co-ordinator Mr R Butt, admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Meredith's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 24 September up to and including 8 October 2024 (4 days).
STAR MAGIC - had difficulty obtaining a clear run over the concluding stages. Driver H Sail advised he did not activate the removable deafeners or sliding blinds in consequence. Mr Sail added that one hopple shortener had failed to activate due to the cord becoming entangled.
BONDI LUSTRE - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
MOET SHARD - driver K Tomlinson was issued a warning for using her whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
Race 7   RICHARD ROBERTON MEMORIAL (BLUE SEPTEMBER) TROT
SPECIAL EFFECTS - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
REGAL SIERRA - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
BONNIE BAGRIE - broke at the start losing ground. Held up in the middle stages of the run home.

DANCING GLENIS - broke when racing over the crossing near the 1750m losing ground. Broke again near the 400m losing its chance.

AMAZING TOM - hampered by an easing of the pace near the 1300m.
EBURY STREET - lay outwards when racing over the crossing near the 1650m and locked wheels with WOLF OF WALL STREET briefly hampering a trailing runner. Hampered by an easing of the pace near the 1300m.
FLYING ASHES - hampered by an easing of the pace near the 1300m.
WOLF OF WALL STREET - lay inwards when racing over the crossing near the 1650m and locked wheels with EBURY STREET briefly hampering a trailing runner. Hampered by an easing of the pace near the 1300m.
FLYAWAY - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Broke shortly after the start losing ground.
ARCHIE - over-raced for a distance near the 1400m and was then hampered after an easing of the pace near the 1300m.
MOONLITE BLOOD - hampered near the 1650m. Hampered by an easing of the pace near the 1300m.
ON REPORT - driver Z Meredith was issued a warning for the manner in which he eased the pace near the 1300m resulting in trailing runners being hampered. Weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had bled for the second time. Stood down for the mandatory 90 days with a veterinary clearance including the results of an endoscopic examination required prior to completing one satisfactory trial before resuming. The connections advised the horse will now be retired.
ZIA BROMAC - broke at the start and shifted outwards and became awkwardly placed close to the sulky of FLYING ASHES losing ground. Held up early in the run home. Broke near the 200m losing all chance when awkwardly placed close to the sulky of FLYING ASHES which was weakening and FLYAWAY which had shifted in marginally. Stewards questioned drivers R McIlwrick (FLYAWAY), D Ferguson (ITSAMONEYMAKER) and J Morrison (ZIA BROMAC) regarding this and after hearing from all parties, Stewards were unable to apportion blame onto any one horse or driver and took the matter no further.
Race 9   TACTICAL APPROACH D G JONES BANKS PENINSULA CUP (HCP TROT)
CODY BANNER - held up early in the run home.
I DREAM OF JEANNIE - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
MR LOVE - shifted ground outwards near the 200m checking LOVE N THE PORT which had to be restrained. Driver B Hope admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly in this incident. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Hope's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 10 October 2024 (6 days).
MASTERLY - late scratching at 9.27am on Veterinary advice.
MAUI - broke racing into the first bend when racing in restricted room hampering a trailing runner and losing ground. Cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
CONFESSIONAL - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages. Cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
JIMMY CARTER - broke racing into the first bend losing all chance.
LOVE N THE PORT - checked near the 200m when an inside runner shifted outwards.
