Race 5 - THE HICKMAN FAMILY 'ORDEAL' TROTTING CUP (HCP TROT)
Driver D McCormick (MAUI) admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr McCormick's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 8 September up to and including 20 September 2024 (3 days).

Race 1   MOUNT HUTT WORKOUTS MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared when DESTINY'S DREAM and ULTIMATE SEISATION broke in the score up hampering trailing runners. A warning was placed on the barrier record of DESTINY'S DREAM and ULTIMATE SEISATION with the drivers of both runners electing to remain in their allocated barrier positions for the restart.
TASI AHNAU - raced three wide throughout.
MOONLITE - paced roughly racing into the first bend losing ground. Raced wide early.
VERDUCCI - driver J Young-Grant admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that she used her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mrs Young-Grant's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 15 September 2024 (2 days). A post-race veterinary examination at the request of connections revealed swelling on the knee consistent with the gelding striking itself and was treated by the Veterinarian.
MAGICAL MARIA - paced roughly in the middle stages and lost contact with the body of the field near the 1100m. Driver K Butt advised the mare had cast a front shoe during the running.
BAILEYS BAY - held up in the middle stages of the run home.

CALL ME THE BREEZE - broke leaving the final bend hampering trailing runners losing its chance.
WYPOUT - hampered by a breaking runner leaving the final bend.
MADAM PATSY - broke rounding the first bend losing all chance.
PERFECT CALL - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the final bend.
MUSCLE DASH - began awkwardly.
MONKEYCMONKEYDOO - began awkwardly. Over-raced middle stages.
MONARO MEG - weakened leaving the final bend.
I'M A DOOSIE - broke near the 1100m losing all chance.
SOLEMN SON - held up early in the run home.
WHISPERING MAJESTIC - broke near the 2200m hampering a trailing runner and losing all chance.
ROCK LOBSTER - slow in the early stages. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 2200m. Trotted roughly rounding the final bend. Held up in the early and middle stages of the run home. Broke passing the 75m losing its chance.

BROMAC TIMES - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer I Court advised the gelding had been working well in preparation for today's race, had taken benefit from a recent trial and received an economical run throughout.
SWIFTNSWEET - checked by a breaking runner rounding the final bend and struck several track markers in consequence.
FRANCO CHAPLIN - broke rounding the final bend checking and hampering trailing runners losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
REVOLUTION - broke shortly after the start checking an outside runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
SHARD DE ARCH - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
FUN TO COME - trainer W Stapleton advised the gelding has been treated for a virus since last racing. Broke at the start losing ground.
GREETS - broke at the start losing ground. Raced wide early.
FREEDOMS BEAUTY - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the final bend.
SPRED SHEET - began awkwardly. Over-raced middle stages.
MAGICAL MAX - checked and broke shortly after the start losing ground.

OPO - lay inwards rounding the first bend striking several track markers.
BUDDY REIGN - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room early in the run home.
PRIDES CONTESSA - struck several track markers entering the first bend. Driver M Cations was issued a warning. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
Race 5   ASHBURTON POWDERCOATING & SANDBLASTING TROT
HIGH NOON - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Broke again rounding the final bend losing all chance.
BEYOND THE HORIZON - over-raced middle stages.
RACEY KRUSA - lay inwards near the 1300m striking a track marker.
BRIANNA - over-raced middle stages.
SPEEDING SPIRIT - trainer R Wilson advised the gelding has had its hocks treated since last racing.
MAXWELL EDISON - over-raced middle stages. Trotted roughly rounding the final bend. Broke passing the 200m hampering a trailing runner losing its chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
RACHMANINOV - hampered by an outside runner at the start. Again hampered by a breaking runner near the 200m.
IMPERIAL COMMAND - stood on the mark and backed away as the start was effected hampering an inside runner losing all chance and was retired from the race. Authorisation of placings was withheld until Stewards had spoken to driver A Clark and viewed replays of the start and were satisfied the gelding had not been denied a fair start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
SEBASTIAN COE - broke near the 100m losing its chance.
Race 6   KATIE COX MEMORIAL (FILLIES & MARES) MOBILE PACE
MOET SHARD - placed in restricted room by outside runners near the 100m and raced inside a track marker.
GEM N EM - placed in restricted room near the 100m when an outside runner lay inwards.
DON'T TELL JENNY - over-raced middle stages. Lay inwards near the 100m placing inside runners in restricted room.
MOSSDALE MARGARET - when questioned regarding the performance connections advised they were disappointed with the effort and will be having blood tests taken from the filly in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
RAKERO ICE - raced wide early.
SOPHIA BROMAC - held up in the middle stages of the run home.
Race 7   BETAVET (JUNIOR DRIVERS) MOBILE PACE
JUSTIN FUN - broke racing into the first bend and was unable to be shifted wider on the track by driver S Payne hampering trailing runners and was retired from the race after breaking both hopples. This gear was inspected and found to be in unsatisfactory condition and trainer K Kelly was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice.
HIT THE BEACH - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
KING ARTHUR - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Struck a track marker near the 1300m. Lay inwards and struck several track markers rounding the final bend when driver A Cameron was activating gear. Driver A Cameron was spoken to regarding this and advised to be more mindful when activating gear in similar circumstances. Miss Cameron was issued a warning for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
MAJOR HAPPY - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
IVONA DADIC - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
KAYSANS ROCK - trainer K Austin was issued a warning for presenting the gelding to race with removable deafeners instead of the notified fixed deafeners and sliding blinds. Hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
IGETAKICKOUTOFYOU - slow to leave the pre-race formation and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Weakened final bend.
SIR MONTY - hampered by a breaking runner for a distance racing into the first bend losing ground.
JUDINE - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
Race 8   SOUTH ISLAND SEEDS HANDICAP TROT
CRAZY N LOVE - slow to begin. Broke leaving the final bend losing all chance. Driver H Sail reported the mare had struck a knee causing the horse to break.
SUNNY LOUIS - driver R May advised he was unable to activate the sliding blinds due to the cord breaking. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
WHISPERING OVER - held up early in the run home.
GREENBANK DON - trainer G Smith advised Stewards the gelding has had its stifles treated since last racing.
Race 9   MT HUTT MOTELS PACE
ARCHIE - broke at the start losing ground. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had not gained any advantage when racing inside a track marker near the 100m. In reaching this decision Stewards were satisfied there had always been a clear run for ARCHIE in the passing lane. Notwithstanding this driver A Cameron was shown a replay and warned to ensure she does not allow her runner to race inside track markers.
KELTIC TIGER - broke at the start and shifted inwards checking trailing runners and made heavy contact with the sulky of RUBY'S A DELIGHT losing all chance and was retired from the race. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts and stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a standing start prior to resuming.
STAR MAGIC - trainer G Smith advised Stewards the gelding has had a coffin joint treated since last racing. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room until late in the run home. Driver G Smith advised he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
RUBY'S A DELIGHT - checked by a breaking runner which shifted inwards at the start and contacted the mare's sulky losing all chance.
PHONE TAP - checked by a breaking runner at the start.
MOONLITE BLOOD - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room until late in the run home.
Race 10   RAINER IRRIGATION HANDICAP PACE
ITSAMONEYMAKER - broke at the start losing ground. Weakened rounding the final bend.
IDEAL CHEVRON - weakened from the 400m.
FERGALICIOUS - tangled away.
LAMARLI - weakened early in the run home.
FRANCO HUMBIE - broke at the start losing ground.
TIMES ARE A CHANGIN - broke at the start losing ground. Weakened from the 700m and paced roughly rounding the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Ottley advised she was disappointed with the effort and the mare had paced roughly on several occasions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
Race 11   THE DUBLINER TROT
There was a delay to the start when TORVI became fractious. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
The field was then turned away to reassemble due to a gear issue with NOAH MAGNIFIC.
TORVI - slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room until late in the run home.
BAFFLED - co-trainers R & J Dunn were issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for presenting the filly to race with a pacifier which had not been notified.
EYRE I WILL - broke passing the 550m losing all chance.
MISS GRACIE - broke racing into the first bend losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
PASTERNAK - broke passing the 600m losing all chance.
FIGHT FOR FREEDOM - broke rounding the final bend losing all chance.
KOWHAI SUMMIT - cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
BOYZ INVASION - broke after 100m losing ground.
Race 12   MATT SMITH CONSTRUCTION MOBILE PACE
DENNIS DENUTO - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
POETRY IN MOTION - struck a track marker in the run home. Driver S Ottley was issued a warning.
DOCTOR TIM - placed in restricted room by an outside runner racing into the first bend and raced over several track markers.
SPIRITED LOU - placed in restricted room by an outside runner racing into the first bend. Weakened final bend. Stewards spoke to driver R May regarding the incident racing into the first bend with Mr May advising that due to his runner being best suited to being saved for one run, he elected to restrain to allow GEORGIE ZUKOV to shift inwards in front of him as the pace had increased at this stage and his runner had been unable to maintain contact with the horse he was trailing. Mr May added that his horse had also lay inwards at this time. Stewards noted Mr May's comments.
GEORGIE ZUKOV - lay inwards racing into the first bend placing inside runners in restricted room. Over-raced middle stages.
