YA KNOW - over-raced through the middle stages. Broke passing the 300m when contacting the sulky wheel of PHOEBE MAJESTIC and as a consequence locked wheels with WINNERS TIME resulting in Driver A Neal being dislodged from his sulky with trailing runners also being checked. Driver D Ferguson admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly in this incident. After hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Ferguson's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 10 June 2022 (4 days). | |

MR MUSCLE - hung inwards throughout the run home. | |
AEONIAN - checked by a breaking runner near the 300m. | |
WINNERS TIME - checked by YA KNOW passing the 300m and locked wheels with that runner resulting in Driver A Neal being dislodged from the sulky. Mr Neal was able to keep control of the horse after being dragged for a short distance and was retired from the race. Mr Neal was examined by St John Paramedics and transported to Waikato Hospital for observation. Mr Neal was advised that a medical clearance will be required prior to him resuming driving. | |

Race 4 IRT MOBILE PACE | |

RUBBLE - broke shortly after the start losing several lengths. Over-raced through the middle stages and was briefly taken inside the marker line near the 1400m after choking down and fell to the track. Stewards stopped the race in accordance with Rule 211A(1) due to safety concerns after RUBBLE lay prone on the track near the 1300m. Due to the horses having raced more than 1000m before being able to be stopped, Stewards determined the race be abandoned under the provisions of Rule 211A(3). RUBBLE was immediately attended to by the on course veterinarian and found to be deceased with the gelding being transported from the track by the Horse Ambulance. A post mortem will be conducted in the coming days. Driver T Mitchell was unharmed in this incident. |

SHARKIES GIRL - compounded from the 600m. Trainer/Driver Z Butcher advised that the filly had hung throughout and had cross fired. Mr Butcher added that he would have blood tests taken from the horse in the coming days. Stewards will follow up the results. A post-race veterinary examination of the filly revealed a laceration to the off fore heel. | |
RUN MASON RUN - shifted out to obtain clear running over the concluding stages. | |
SKY DELIGHT - a spreader became detached from the sulky shaft near the 300m and hung loose. Trainer R Frampton was found not to be at fault and no further action was deemed necessary. | |
MAHIA DREAMIN - lost ground passing the 1100 metres before weakening on the final bend. Trainer/Driver N Chilcott advised that the horse had hung throughout causing her considerable difficulty and it was her intention to spell the mare. |
