Race 1   FRIDAY STEAK NIGHT AT THE CLUBHOUSE TROT
The start was delayed due to the Starter not being satisfied with the manner in which the runners addressed the barrier strand on the first occasion.
SPEED TO BURN - broke at the start losing all chance.
UNTIL NOW - trotted roughly through the early stages. Lay outwards in the run home and shifted up the track despite the efforts of driver D Butcher.
PRESIDENTS TOPSHOT - broke at the start losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer O Gillies.
DEBBIE LEE GALLEON - raced keenly through the middle stages. Held up final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
LIBRARY LADY - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
STORMS ACOMING - Driver B Towers was shown the replay and warned for using his whip free of the rein on one occasion early in the run home. Mr Towers was also warned for using his whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
CYCLONE LEBRON - Co-trainers P & V Blanchard were warned for presenting the gelding to race without the notified blinds which were fitted prior to the start.
ULTIMATE MOMENT - over-raced through the middle stages.
MONT BLANC - slow in the early stages.
Race 2   MID-WINTER CHRISTMAS - TICKETS ONSALE NOW (MOB PACE)
MAJOR THOMAS - raced wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field. Paced roughly for several strides near the 900m having to be steadied.
FLETCH MAGUIRE - over-raced through the middle stages.
TUGAWAR - raced greenly in the early stages. Paced roughly rounding the final bend.
BORIS YELTSIN - held up rounding the final bend.
Race 3   BLACK DOG FURNITURE TROT
VORONOV - slow in the early stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
DEMOLITION MAN - broke shortly after the start losing all chance and was retired from the race.
LOVE AND FAITH - slow in the early stages. Broke near the 350m losing ground before being checked by a breaking runner near the 300m losing all chance.
HIGHVIEW ROCKN ROLL - broke racing into the first bend losing considerable ground.
YA KNOW - over-raced through the middle stages. Broke passing the 300m when contacting the sulky wheel of PHOEBE MAJESTIC and as a consequence locked wheels with WINNERS TIME resulting in Driver A Neal being dislodged from his sulky with trailing runners also being checked. Driver D Ferguson admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly in this incident. After hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Ferguson's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 10 June 2022 (4 days).
SIR HENRY CASTLETON - checked by a breaking runner near the 300m.
MR MUSCLE - hung inwards throughout the run home.
AEONIAN - checked by a breaking runner near the 300m.
WINNERS TIME - checked by YA KNOW passing the 300m and locked wheels with that runner resulting in Driver A Neal being dislodged from the sulky. Mr Neal was able to keep control of the horse after being dragged for a short distance and was retired from the race. Mr Neal was examined by St John Paramedics and transported to Waikato Hospital for observation. Mr Neal was advised that a medical clearance will be required prior to him resuming driving.
PHOEBE MAJESTIC - over-raced through the middle stages.
Race 4   IRT MOBILE PACE
RUBBLE - broke shortly after the start losing several lengths. Over-raced through the middle stages and was briefly taken inside the marker line near the 1400m after choking down and fell to the track. Stewards stopped the race in accordance with Rule 211A(1) due to safety concerns after RUBBLE lay prone on the track near the 1300m. Due to the horses having raced more than 1000m before being able to be stopped, Stewards determined the race be abandoned under the provisions of Rule 211A(3). RUBBLE was immediately attended to by the on course veterinarian and found to be deceased with the gelding being transported from the track by the Horse Ambulance. A post mortem will be conducted in the coming days. Driver T Mitchell was unharmed in this incident.
Race 5   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS HANDICAP TROT
A false start was declared due to FLYING SCOTSMAN backing away just prior to the start checking a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
REIGN - checked by a breaking runner near the 400m.
FLYING SCOTSMAN - broke after 150m losing ground. Checked and broke near the 400m losing its chance.
ALANA - fractious prior to start. Broke racing into the first bend losing ground. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that ALANA had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
GREENBANK BETTY - checked by a breaking runner near the 400m.
MY ROYAL ROXY - stood on the mark losing all chance.
ROMEO FOXTROT - Driver B Hope reported that the gelding had trotted roughly in the run home and was unable to be fully driven out.
GREY STOKE - checked by an outside runner near the 400m losing ground.
MYSTIC MAX - Trainer M Purdon was issued with a warning for having the incorrect colours.
KELVINZ LUCK - hampered shortly after the start. Hung inwards near the 400m despite the efforts of Driver J Stormont, checking inside runners. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record. Trainer J Stormont advised that the gelding would be freshened prior to resuming.
Race 6   CAMBRIDGE JOCKEY CLUB MOBILE PACE
PETER FORSBERG - weakened from the 600m.
ARTFUL LIVING - raced wide in the early and middle stages before being restrained to the rear of the field near the 1400m.
CLAUDIA SCHIFFER - raced wide early.
IDEAL TOMADO - Driver N Chilcott was warned for using her whip free of the rein late in the run home.
RORY MCILROY - weakened leaving the final bend.
JIMMY FOX - over-raced middle stages. Briefly held up early in the run home.
Race 7   CAMBRIDGE HOMES MOBILE PACE
SOME GIRLS DONT - had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
MANNY - over-raced middle stages.
SHARKIES GIRL - compounded from the 600m. Trainer/Driver Z Butcher advised that the filly had hung throughout and had cross fired. Mr Butcher added that he would have blood tests taken from the horse in the coming days. Stewards will follow up the results. A post-race veterinary examination of the filly revealed a laceration to the off fore heel.
RUN MASON RUN - shifted out to obtain clear running over the concluding stages.
SKY DELIGHT - a spreader became detached from the sulky shaft near the 300m and hung loose. Trainer R Frampton was found not to be at fault and no further action was deemed necessary.
MAHIA DREAMIN - lost ground passing the 1100 metres before weakening on the final bend. Trainer/Driver N Chilcott advised that the horse had hung throughout causing her considerable difficulty and it was her intention to spell the mare.
Race 8   GROUP 1 TURF BAR TROTTERS FLYING MILE "G2" (MOB TROT)
ANDITOVER - weakened near the 400m.
INVICTUS - trotted roughly rounding first bend having to be steadied. Continued to trot roughly during the middle stages before breaking at the 700m. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record.
Race 9   MCMILLAN EQUINE FEEDS PACERS FLYING MILE "G2" (MOB PACE)
KANGO - held up early in the run home.
CRANBOURNE - broke in the early stages of the score up losing ground however was able to take up its position prior to the candy pole.
MACH DAN - raced wide early and middle stages. Held up final bend.
SOUTH COAST ARDEN - raced wide early and middle stages. Weakened leaving final bend. When questioned regarding the performance Trainer/Driver B Mangos advised that he was satisfied with the gelding's effort after considering the run that he had encountered on a very fast tempo. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Race 10   GAVELHOUSE.COM HANDICAP PACE
CLAUDE - broke at the start losing ground. Paced roughly in the run home.
WILD CARD - broke at the start losing ground. Paced roughly final bend. Driver D Butcher was warned for half carting passing the 1300m.
FERNLEIGH CASH - over-raced middle stages.
