Race 1   CENTREPOINT & SOUTH CITY LIQUORLAND MOBILE PACE
AMERICAN EYRETIME - broke early in the score-up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
GLORAFILIA - lay inwards passing the 1250 metres.
BOARDING CALL - over-raced in the middle stages. Cleared from the Unruly for future mobile starts.
Race 2   HOMESTEAD TROT
THE POWER BROKER - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1700 metres. Crowded in the early stages of the run home when runners either side shifted ground. Trotted roughly throughout the run home and was unable to be driven out by driver B Williamson.
JOEDIUM - lay outwards in the run home crowding an outside runner.
VELOCITY JET - lay inwards early in the run home crowding an inside runner before breaking near the 100 metres.
FATHER ON DOWN - checked and broke near the 180 metres.
DON AMECHE - broke passing the 2400 metres. Again broke passing the 1400 metres. Over-raced in the middle stages before breaking again near the 850 metres. Driver S Ottley reported the gelding had hung badly throughout and she would be recommending gear changes.
KYLE LOCH - broke passing the 1700 metres when leading, hampering a trailing runner. Authorisation of 2nd placing was withheld until the Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when breaking near the 1700 metres. Driver A Kyle admitted a charge that he drove carelessly near the 180 metres when shifting ground outwards when insufficiently clear of FATHER ON DOWN which was checked and broke in consequence. After viewing replays and considering penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Kyle's driver's license from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 26 May 2022 (3 days). Driver A Kyle defended a charge that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing replays and hearing evidence from the Stewards and Mr Kyle the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and after considering penalty submissions imposed a fine of $200.
Race 3   LONE STAR CAFE & BAR MOBILE PACE
ARLO MAGUIRE - lay outwards in the run home. Briefly locked wheels with TANGIER TANGO over the concluding stages.
DON'T QUOTE ME -held up early in the run home.
DALNESS ARIZONA - held up on the final bend.
TANGIER TANGO - briefly locked wheels with ARLO MAGUIRE over the concluding stages and then locked sulky stays with RAKANOTTA.
MIDNITETRAINTOGEORGA - held up on the final bend.
RAKANOTTA - raced wide without cover from the 1000 metres. Briefly locked sulky stays with TANGIER TANGO over the concluding stages. When asked to comment on the performance junior driver S O'Reilly could offer no explanation.
SWEDISH STARLET - paced roughly late in the score-up and through the early stages. Weakened from the 1200 metres and was retired from the race. When asked to comment on the performance junior driver T Larsen advised that the mare had felt flat throughout. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the mare to have suffered an atrial fibrillation. Stood down pending a Veterinary Clearance including an ECG following strenuous exercise.
WHITE DIAMOND GOLD - when asked to comment on the improved performance junior driver E Barron advised she was not surprised by the effort given the mare had been working well in the lead up and benefitted from a favourable barrier draw and an economical run today.
Race 4   WAIKIWI TAVERN HANDICAP TROT
DEM BONES DEM BONES - slow to begin.
IMPERIAL MAN - held up early in the run home. Broke over the concluding stages.
IN THE GROOVE - briefly hampered by a breaking runner near the 200 metres.
TWEEDLEDEE - trotted roughly leaving the final bend before breaking near the 200 metres.
Race 5   SPEIGHTS ALE HOUSE MOBILE PACE
JAFFIE J - paced roughly rounding the final bend.
LOCK IT IN EDDIE - held up leaving the final bend and early in the run home. Junior driver O Kite was issued with a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
VINTAGE ROSE - placed in restricted room late in the score-up.
JABALI - lay inwards in the score-up placing VINTAGE ROSE in restricted room.
FRANCO HUNTINGTON - raced wide early.
Race 6   ASHFORD MOTOR LODGE FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
ROBYN X - weakened on the final bend.
SEVENTH HEAVEN - over-raced in the score-up. Weakened on the final bend.
TAKE ME PLACES - broke shortly after the start hampering trailing runners and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
WHO'S BETTOR - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Checked by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
HUNTING WEIGHT - trainer B Gray was issued with a $100 Minor Infringement Notice when presenting this mare with removable deafeners instead of the notified fixed deafeners.
BETTOR BACK OFF - hung inwards near the 1250 metres striking several track markers.
TASHS BAD GIRL - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Checked by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Over-raced in the middle stages. Raced wide without cover from the 1000 metres. Weakened on the final bend.
R U WATCHING ME - broke racing into the first bend checking trailing runners. Broke again near the 1500 metres checking a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. Over-raced in the middle stages. Held up on the final bend.
STEEL CRUSHER - checked and broke rounding the first bend with driver R Swain becoming unbalanced in the sulky. Again checked near the 1500 metres. Held up by a weakening runner on the final bend.
THREETIMESBETTER - checked by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
Race 7   ASCOT PARK HOTEL MOBILE PACE
FOVEAUX STRAIT - lay outwards rounding the first bend causing driver N Williamson some difficulty and made contact with the sulky wheel of MCLEAN near the 1900 metres. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Held up throughout the run home.
MCLEAN - driver B Orange reported he had sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
TEDDY BAKER - over-raced in the score-up. Raced wide rounding the first bend. Crowded by an outside runner in the home straight. Driver P Hunter was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
RYLAN CHARLIE - broke near the 1750 metres hampering a trailing runner, losing all chance and being retired from the race. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
RAGING ON - weakened on the final bend.
NGAROMA - raced wide rounding the first bend. Hung inwards in the home straight crowding an inside runner.
JACCKA OPA - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1750 metres.
FOXFIRE EASTON - held up throughout the run home. Junior driver S O'Reilly reported she did not release the removable deafeners as a consequence of being held up.
SIR LANCELOT - over-raced in the early and middle stages.
COSMIC AURUM - broke briefly in the score-up however was in position at the start.
MY PLEASURE - over-raced through the middle stages.
Race 8   NORTHERN TAVERN MOBILE PACE
FIREFOREFIDDLE - weakened leaving the final bend.
TINTORETTO - trainer B Willis reported the gelding has had its joints treated since last racing. Over-raced in the middle stages. Weakened from the 800 metres. When asked to comment on the performance driver B Williamson advised the gelding had hung badly during the race and proved very difficult to steer. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
BROOKIES PLAYER - lay inwards shortly after the start.
BETTASTAR - raced wide early. Held up until late in the run home.
INSARCHATWIST - raced wide early. Paced roughly over the concluding stages.
SAGWITCH - held up on the final bend.
HURRICANE BANNER - held up on the final bend.
Race 9   NEWFIELD SPORTS BAR MOBILE PACE
I'M TROUBLE - junior driver O Kite (assisted by N Williamson) admitted a charge that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.
WOLFENSTEIN - held up on the final bend and throughout the run home.
SANTANNA MACH - a side hopple carrier came adrift during the running. Trainer M House (T Dewe as agent) was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to affix gear so as not to come adrift. When asked to comment on the performance driver B Orange advised the gelding had pulled too hard during the race and this had taken its toll.
DANGEROUS - junior driver E Barron was reminded of her obligations to drive her runner out fully to the end of the race.
