Race 1   LONE STAR SIRES STAKES 3YO PRELUDE (MOB TROT)
MASTERLY - trotted roughly racing into the first bend. Continued to trot roughly through the middle stages. Broke passing the 150 metres. Stewards lodged a protest under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation against 3rd placing for breaking in excess of 50 metres inside the final 200 metres. The connections did not contest the protest and MASTERLY was disqualified by the Adjudicative Committee.
EL CONQUEROR - hung inwards leaving the final bend and broke. Stewards lodged a protest under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation against 4th placing for breaking in excess of 50 metres inside the final 200 metres. The connections did not contest the protest and EL CONQUEROR was disqualified by the Adjudicative Committee.
BROTHER LOVE - trotted roughly on the bend near the 1000 metres losing ground. Broke near the 450 metres losing ground. Authorisation of the promoted 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation. Trainer/driver G Smith advised he would give consideration to making alterations to the gelding's shoeing prior to resuming.
NORTIE NORTIE - the required veterinary clearance was received.
Race 2   ANNE THOMPSON MEMORIAL GRADUATION SERIES (HEAT 1) TROT
RACHEL DAYTOM - broke at the start losing ground.
SLAINTE - weakened final bend.
MC SQUARED - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
A LATE LATE PRESSY - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the trainer's request.
BLITHE - broke at the start losing all chance.
PENELOPE HALL - shifted inwards and contacted the final track marker prior to the passing lane. Driver J Versteeg was issued a warning.
LAVRA SEGIL - raced wide final bend.
NOTASBADASILOOK - broke at the start losing ground.

Race 3   ANNE THOMPSON MEMORIAL GRADUATION SERIES (HEAT 1) MOB PACE
TAKE A HIKE - crowded late in the run home and contacted track markers.
BACKBURN - shifted inwards marginally late in the run home briefly crowding an inside runner. Driver K Cox was warned for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
DULCINEA - over-raced when wide on the track in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field.
KNOCKSHANBALLY - raced greenly then broke near the 1900 metres losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
TYKE - weakened from the 600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the mare with connections in the coming days
VIOLET KNIGHT - had to be steadied leaving the final bend when crowded for racing room after runners either side of the gelding shifted ground marginally.
PAYTONS ROCK - lay inwards throughout the run home.
Trainer W Stapleton advised Stewards on 10 May that TYKE has been treated for a virus since last racing.
Race 4   ANNE THOMPSON MEMORIAL GRADUATION SERIES (HEAT 2) MOB PACE
ABSOLUTE DYNAMITE - driver J Dunn advised he did not activate the sliding blinds or removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
MISTER BLUE SKY -hampered by ROCK MY MIND which shifted inwards on the first bend. Held up final bend.
FRANCO LOUIS - weakened from the 500 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
ROCK MY MIND - shifted inwards on the first bend hampering an inside runner. Driver R Close was issued a warning. When questioned regarding the improved performance trainer M Purvis advised the mare had derived significant benefit from beach training which had improved the horse's fitness and he was confident of a forward showing today.
WESTAR LAD - held up final bend.
MAGICAL MILES - held up final bend.
APACHE WARRIOR - weakened from the 500 metres.
IDEAL GRACE - broke for several strides leaving the first bend.
SIR MONTY - weakened final bend.
CLASSIE LINC - held up final bend. Cleared from the unruly for future mobile starts.
Race 5   NORTH CANTERBURY TRIALS & WORKOUTS TROT
GAYTANA - Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards had viewed a replay and were satisfied the mare had not gained an advantage when contacting track markers late in the run home after being established to the inside of ABACARDI HAZEL which had shifted ground inwards marginally.
GRANNY ROSE - raced wide early. Weakened final bend.
ABACARDI HAZEL - shifted ground marginally late in the run home crowding an inside runner.
KING OF LOVE - raced wide early.
ROBO TROUBLE - held up final bend.
NORDIC PRINCE - weakened final bend before breaking near the 200 metres.
KOHLI TROUBLE - broke near the 300 metres.
MERLOT - briefly hampered by a breaking runner near the 300 metres.
MOONS WAY - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 6   FIVE PEAKS BREW CO PACE
APATCHOFGOLD - over-raced middle stages. When spoken to regarding the performance driver S Tomlinson advised that she was disappointed with the effort even considering that the filly had over-raced during the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
MEGAROCK - raced wide early.
THE HORNET - over-raced middle stages. Held up early in the run home.
BO DUKE - broke at the start losing ground.
POCKET CALL - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1500 metres. Weakened from the 700 metres. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding. Driver L Dobbs admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip free of the rein and with more than a wrist flicking motion in the back straight on the final occasion. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Dobbs driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 15 May 2022 (4 days).
SHEEZAGOLDENGIRL - reared as the start was effected losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
KENNEDY - over-raced for a distance passing the 800 metres.
Race 7   BALCAIRN MOBILE PACE
MORRISSEY - co-trainer G Dunn advised Stewards that blood tests taken from the gelding subsequent to it last start failed to reveal any abnormalities.
HONOUR SCROLL - raced wide early. Held up by a weakening runner from the 700 metres.
ALL TOGETHER NOW - when questioned regarding the improved performance driver J Cox advised the gelding had shown natural improvement from its last start after not having raced for one month and had benefited from recent gear changes and an economical run today.
A CRACKER KNIGHT - weakened from the 700 metres. Stood down to trial satisfactorily on one occasion prior to resuming.
DISMARA - out of position at the candy pole despite the efforts of driver K Cox. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Over-raced early when being restrained to the rear of the field.
BUDDY REIGN - out of position at the candy pole despite the efforts of driver K Cameron. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Raced wide early.
CHANGEOVER JO - lay inwards throughout the run home.
SPICY GIRL BECQUI - over-raced early.
Race 8   SEFTON HANDICAP TROT
DD'S SUPER STUART - over-raced middle stages. Driver J Markham reported he dropped his whip passing the 200 metres.
CALL THIS FUN - began awkwardly.
ZSAHARA - co-trainers K Ford and A Tomlinson were issued with a warning for presenting the mare to race without the notified blinds. Over-raced middle stages. Driver A Tomlinson was warned for using her whip free of the rein early in the run home.
JAKARTA - broke racing into the first bend losing all chance.
HANOVER DA MOON - came together with KD HAWK passing the 200 metres.
KD HAWK - shifted inwards passing the 200 metres and came together with HANOVER DA MOON.
Race 9   RANGIORA HRC WAIMAKARIRI BUSINESSES WINTER CUP (HCP PACE)
CARANA - raced greenly when leading passing the 2000 metres.
CYA ART - began awkwardly.
JIMMY ARMA - broke at the start losing ground.
BUCKSKIN - over-raced middle stages.
KISS THE GIRLS - permission was granted for the gelding to race in alternative colours. Broke briefly at the start.
Race 10   OXFORD MOBILE PACE
GYPSY - over-raced middle stages.
U R THE ONE - briefly locked sulky stays with MAXIMILIAN near the 300 metres.
MAXIMILIAN - over-raced middle stages. Hung inwards rounding the final bend striking several track markers which were dislodged. Briefly locked sulky stays with U R THE ONE near the 300 metres.
IT'S ME - raced wide early. Weakened near the 600 metres.
ARDEN'S SWEETHEART - raced wide early.
SHEEZA PURLA - over-raced middle stages.
PIXIE - over-raced middle stages.
REAL MEN WEAR PINK - broke at the start losing all chance. Stood down to complete one satisfactory mobile trial prior to resuming.
Race 11   MAYDAY CELEBRATIONS PACE
MAYBE - hampered at the start and broke losing ground.
PIECE OF GOLD - hampered at the start.
REFLECTIONSOFMYLIFE - began awkwardly and hampered inside runners.
HAZER - when questioned regarding the improved performance driver S Tomlinson advised the gelding had been better suited to the standing start and had been able to lead throughout after beginning quickly.
CLAUS - trainer S Moore was warned for presenting the gelding with blinds which had not been notified.
NOT REALLY BLONDE - broke at the start losing ground.
CHANCE ON ME - when spoken to regarding the performance trainer/driver L O'Reilly advised the filly had been unsuited to the tempo of the race and was unable to make ground due to the fast closing sectionals.
LOYALIST - broke briefly at the start.
SOPHIA BROMAC - slow to begin. Junior driver C Dalgety was warned to ensure he starts wider on the track when drawn unruly.
Race 12   RANGIORA HRC RACING 8 & 22 MAY MOBILE PACE
R K FINN - weakened final bend.
LOCHART SHARD - crowded late in the score up and was back slightly at the start.
ROCK N DIAMONDS - crowded late in the score up and was back slightly at the start. Again crowded on the final bend and struck several track markers.
FAST ACE - raced wide early. Weakened from the 1100 metres. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding. When spoken to regarding the performance trainer/driver R Cameron reported the gelding had been striking its knees throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
WILL HE ROCK - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 900 metres. Weakened final bend.
WHAKAREHU - raced greenly rounding the final bend crowding an inside runner.
