Race 1   CRAIG HEYRICK AT HARCOURTS HANDICAP TROT
SIMONE LINDENNY - slow to begin. Hung outwards and trotted roughly on various occasions during the running. Held up through the early and middle stages of the run home.
LOVE N THE PORT - when asked to comment on the performance driver M Williamson advised the gelding was unsuited to racing parked with the fast tempo of the race.
PEREGRINE - held up on the final bend.
ONLY ONE WAY - hung inwards near the 1250 metres striking a track marker. Over-raced through the middle stages when leading.
Race 2   COATS & SCHUCK JEWELLERS FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
CHOGI - broke in the score-up losing all chance. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts.
MOONLITE DREAM - driver R Close reported he did not release the removable deafeners due to having the field covered. Driver R Close admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip & Rein Regulations in that he crossed his reins late in the run home when performing a celebratory gesture. After viewing replays and considering penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.
CELTIC ABBEY - paced roughly on various occasions during the running. Broke near the 500 metres hampering trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
COURAGE REACTOR - raced wide early. Over-raced through the middle stages. Weakened on the final bend. When asked to comment on the performance driver S Ottley advised the filly had been striking the wheel discs and over-raced as a consequence. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have a high heart and respiratory rate with a poor recovery.
YOU SAID IT - hampered by a breaking runner near the 500 metres.

MACANDREW NAVIGATOR - forced to race wide without cover from the 800 metres.
ART LINCOLN - weakened on the final bend. When asked to comment on the performance driver M Williamson advised the gelding had worked too hard through the early stages.

ROCKNROLL LOVER - raced wide early. Broke near the 1450 metres losing ground. Held up rounding the final bend and early in the run home.
ALWAYS B THERE - hung inwards and paced roughly shortly after the start. Raced wide early.
BUBBA SCRUB - held up on the final bend.
FOVEAUX STRAIT - raced greenly approaching the 800 metres.

Race 4   BETAVET MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared when MR MCLAREN hung outwards in the score-up and contacted the outside fence dislodging driver K Larsen from the sulky. Mr Larsen was examined by St John Paramedics and treated for abrasions and significant bruising. Mr Larsen was stood down from his remaining driving engagement and advised a medical clearance would be required prior to him driving next. MR MCLAREN was declared a late scratching on Veterinary advice at 1.00pm and treated for abrasions to the hind legs.
The start of the race was initially delayed approximately 11 minutes and was then further delayed due to SO ART I requiring a sulky change.
SO ART I - weakened on the final bend.
TISBURY ROCKS - held up on the final bend and early in the run home.
THE BIG LEBOWSKI - raced wide early.
HENRY MAGUIRE - over-raced in the middle stages. Hung inwards and paced roughly rounding the final bend.
VINTAGE ROSE - weakened on the final bend.
CHANGEAROUND - over-raced throughout.
JABALI - raced four-wide from the 700 metres.
THE MIGHTY MONDO - paced roughly as the start was effected and had to be steadied. Over-raced in the middle stages. Held up on the final bend and until late in the run home.
Race 5   CADUCEUS CLUB OF SOUTHLAND HANDICAP TROT
The start time of this race was rescheduled to 1.30pm due to the significant delay in the previous race.
MISS BAMBOOCHA - shifted outwards marginally at the start and locked wheels with UNIQUE MARSHALL for a short distance.
UNIQUE MARSHALL - locked wheels with MISS BAMBOOCHA for a short distance at the start. Broke near the 750 metres and continued on in a break for the remainder of the race when proving uncontrollable despite the efforts of junior driver S O'Reilly. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
DREAMSINTHE MIST - trotted roughly when leading through the middle stages and over-raced.
CODY BANNER - trotted roughly through the middle stages. Broke near the 500 metres. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
DANANGUS FELLA - trotted roughly on various occasions during the running. Broke passing the 1600 metres. Again broke near the 1100 metres losing ground. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 750 metres.
ANDIAMO - junior driver T Larsen was an authorised late driver change replacing K Larsen. Broke at the start losing considerable ground. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards from a standing start on one occasion prior to resuming.
KING OF THE NORTH - broke briefly rounding the final bend.
AFTERBURNER - connections reported the gelding has been treated for a virus since last racing. Held up leaving the final bend.
Race 6   FOVEAUX COMMUNICATIONS LTD MOBILE PACE
WRECKING BALL - driver A Milne admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he shifted ground inwards near the 200 metres resulting in SAGWITCH and FRANCO HUNTINGTON being checked. After viewing replays and considering penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Milne's licence to drive from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 21 May 2022 (3 days).
NYLA - under pressure from the 700 metres losing ground. When asked to comment on the performance driver M Williamson expressed disappointment and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
SAGWITCH - checked and broke near the 200 metres.
FRANCO HUNTINGTON - raced wide early. Checked near the 200 metres with driver J Morrison becoming unbalanced in the sulky.
FRIENDLY EYRE - raced wide early. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 150 metres.
WAVETHEBILL - out of position at the start despite the efforts of junior driver S O'Reilly. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. When asked to comment on the performance junior driver S O'Reilly advised she was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation. Stewards will follow up with trainer S Adlam in the coming days.
EMERALD ABBEY - weakened on the final bend.
CARRERA DANCE - raced wide early.
BRIGADIERS SON - lay inwards on the final bend.
Trainer S Adlam advised Stewards on 11 May that WAVETHEBILL has been treated for a virus since last racing.
Race 7   ALABAR SOUTHERN SUPREMACY STAKES FINAL (MOBILE PACE)
MATT MAJOR - hung outwards through the back straight on the final occasion causing driver T Williams some difficulty. Continued to hang outwards on the final bend and ran off near the 200 metres losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Co-trainer S Telfer advised they would have MATT MAJOR undergo a further veterinary examination in the coming days which Stewards will follow up.
Stable representative T Williams advised Stewards on 13 May that MATT MAJOR will be sent for a lengthy spell.
Race 8   DIAMOND CREEK FARM 2YO CLASSIC (MOBILE PACE)
DA VINCI - over-raced in the middle stages.
A MAJOR STARR - broke shortly after the start and settled at the rear of the field.
Race 9   REGENT CAR COURT SOUTHERN CUPS FINAL (HANDICAP PACE)
KERRI MAGUIRE - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
IDEALISM - driver B Williamson was issued with a warning for crossing his reins late in the run home when performing a celebratory gesture.
TAIRLAW TOLL - weakened on the final bend. When asked to comment on the performance driver M Williamson advised that the gelding had felt flat throughout and in his opinion may have been feeling the affects of recent racing. Connections reported they would give consideration to sending TAIRLAW TOLL for a spell.
PERONI - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver R McIlwrick was issued with a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
MEMPHIS TENNESSEE - tangled away.

MACANDREW AVIATOR - late scratching on veterinary advice at 8.59am.

CLASSY DANCER - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.

MACH QUILLAN - raced wide early. When asked to comment on the performance driver B Williamson advised that the gelding had worked hard in the early stages to obtain the lead with the effort taking its toll.
