Race 1   CHELSEA PROPERTIES & PARKING TROT
MISS MILLIE - trotted roughly at various stages during the running.
RACEY KRUSA - over-raced middle stages when racing outside the leader. When spoken to regarding the performance trainer/driver A Lethaby advised the gelding was better suited when able to be driven with cover.
TIGHT N BRIGHT - broke near the 400 metres. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
TRUEBLUE WAIHEMO - back from position at the start. Weakened near the 700 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the mare.
SUPERFAST WHIZZ - trotted roughly rounding the first bend losing ground. Weakened near the 400 metres. Trainer W Stapleton advised on 10 May that the horse has been treated for a virus since last racing.
Race 2   THE PHAT DUCK BREW BAR & KITCHEN MOBILE PACE
AIRPARK LIGHTNING - over-raced early. Lay inwards throughout causing driver J Morrison difficulty. Weakened near the 500 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
YOUNG GEORGE - lay inwards leaving the final bend striking a track marker. Driver B Williamson advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
LONE WOLF - held up early in the run home.
OH NO NANA - raced wide early.
MAN UNITED - when spoken to regarding the performance trainer B Hill advised the colt had worked hard in the middle stages to obtain a forward position and may be better suited when driven with cover.
FRANK BURNS - when spoken to regarding the performance driver T Williams could offer no explanation. Trainer B Hill advised he was disappointed with the effort even considering the fast tempo of the race and the gelding being in a fresh state. Mr Hill added he intended having blood tests taken from the horse in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
SIR MONTY - held up early in the run home.
Trainer B Hill advised Stewards on 6 May that FRANK BURNS has been treated for muscle tie up since last racing.
Race 3   PREMIUM PEAS 2YO MOBILE TROT
LOVE A PATRICK - trotted roughly and hung outwards racing into the first bend. Over-raced middle stages.
PATRICK SWAYZE - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start.
SHOW NO FEAR - trotted roughly near the 1100 metres losing ground.
Race 4   ASHBURTON PAPER PLUS FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
MACY BLACK - over-raced shortly after the start when being restrained. Driver M Edmonds was warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground after 100 metres which resulted in his runner making contact with the sulky wheel of MILLWOOD MELODY before placing the trailing SPLASH OF CRIMSON in restricted room briefly.
SPLASH OF CRIMSON - briefly placed in restricted room after 100 metres and had to be steadied.
LUVSTRUCK - hung inwards rounding the first bend before breaking briefly near the 1300 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance driver N Rasmussen advised the filly had raced greenly around the first bend and she would be recommending gear changes prior to resuming.
MIKI DIVA - paced roughly passing the 400 metres and had to be steadied.
CLASSIE LINC - when spoken to regarding the performance driver S Tomlinson advised that after racing at the rear of the field having started from the unruly position, the filly was obliged to race wide on the final bend and given the fast closing sectionals of the race she was pleased with the performance.
Trainer M Edmonds advised Stewards on 1 May that MACY BLACK has been treated for a respiratory infection since last racing.
Race 5   LIQUORLAND RACECOURSE ROAD TROT
MAKE MY SUNDON - broke briefly passing the 1400 metres and the 1100 metres. Broke again near the 550 metres hampering a trailing runner. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial prior to resuming.
FRANCO JORIK - fractious prior to the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Broke at the start losing considerable ground. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 550 metres.
THE FOX - fractious prior to the start and sent to the unruly position by the Starter where the gelding will remain for future standing starts. Broke shortly after the start losing ground.
PYRAMID MYSTIC - trainer P Williamson admitted a breach of Rule 864(2)(d) in that he failed to securely affix the off hind bandage after the bandage pad came adrift during the running. After hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $100.
CLASSIC CALL - raced wide early. Over-raced middle stages. Weakened from the 600 metres.
CHEVAL ROUGE - weakened from the 500 metres. When questioned regarding the performance trainer A Hoffman advised that the mare was racing up in grade and had worked hard in the middle stages to obtain a forward position with the effort taking its toll. Miss Hoffman added that the mare would now be sent for a spell.
KAHNTDOITALONE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
OUR PINOCCHIO - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 6   SIMS BAKERY FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
LEGENDA FRANCO - driver C Thornley reported the mare had hung inwards and paced roughly in the run home.
JENABELLA - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
KOWHAI MAGIC - held up passing the 100 metres and had to shift wider on the track in search of clear racing room.
Race 7   DOUG COLEY FLOORING MOBILE PACE
QUEEN OF DIAMONDS - driver N Rasmussen was spoken to advisedly for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
APATCHOFGOLD - raced with one number after the inside number had broken in the preliminary. Paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Held up early in the run home. Had to be steadied near the 100 metres when an outside runner shifted ground inwards marginally.
VAN SHARD - lay outwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Over-raced middle stages. When spoken to regarding the performance driver R May advised he was not disappointed with the effort considering the gelding had over-raced during the running and was of the opinion the horse is better suited when able to lead.
Race 8   MORGAN FENCING MOBILE PACE
POCKET CALL - underwent and passed a pre-race veterinary examination after starting at the Geraldine TC meeting on Sunday 24 April.
A CRACKER KNIGHT - underwent and passed a pre-race veterinary examination after starting at the Geraldine TC meeting on Sunday 24 April. Weakened from the 700 metres. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
REFLECTIONSOFMYLIFE - driver T Chmiel was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the middle stages of the run home.
REAL MEN WEAR PINK - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
GANA - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver J Curtin. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Mr Curtin advised he would give consideration to sending the horse for a spell.
FOLLOW ME FANTASY - held up early in the run home.
MORRISSEY - briefly hampered by a weakening runner near the 700 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance driver J Dunn and co-trainer G Dunn both advised they were disappointed with the effort. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
