After hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Burrows driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 22 May 2022 (4 weeks). | |

FOVEAUX GAMBLER - driver S Tomlinson was questioned regarding her decision not to activate the sliding blinds until late in the run home. Miss Tomlinson explained that she felt the gelding was comfortably holding the field after drawing clear early in the home straight however she had been surprised by the speed of which SARGENT BEST had improved to her inside passing the 100 metres. Miss Tomlinson added she had then activated the sliding blinds but the horse had been unable to quicken. After considering the matter, Stewards were satisfied that Miss Tomlinson had continued to drive her horse out throughout the run home however she was reminded of her obligations to activate any removable gear in a more timely manner in future. | |

SIX TIMES A LADY - driver M Williamson was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. When spoken to regarding the performance of the mare Mr Williamson advised he was disappointed and could offer no explanation. Trainer B Mowbray was also at a loss to explain the performance and could only advise that the horse may not have backed up from its previous race on 18 April 2022. A post-race veterinary examination revealed slight muscle tie up. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the mare with connections in the coming days. | |
