Race 8 - ALABAR SOUTHERN SUPREMACY STAKES HEAT 2 (MOBILE PACE)
Trainer N Williamson advised Stewards on 21 April that SAND WAVE has been treated for a stomach complaint since last racing. Mr Williamson added that the colt's preparation for its next race at Invercargill on 22 April has not been ideal with adverse weather last weekend affecting scheduled workouts and in light of this will be driven accordingly.

Trainer R Kennedy advised Stewards on 20 April that RADIOACTIVE JAFFA has been treated for a foot abscess and will be sent for a short spell before resuming.

Race 1   IRT. YOUR HORSE. OUR PASSION. (AMATEUR DRIVERS) MOBILE PACE
KENNEDY - paced roughly for a short distance in the score up after briefly dropping its head under the mobile barrier arm. Over-raced middle stages.
MAXIMILIAN - paced roughly at the start. Driver A Fitzgerald was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ - driver C Negus admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that she used her whip in a continuous manner in the run home and after hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.
TANE J J - weakened final bend.
TAXMAN - when spoken to regarding the performance driver B White reported the gelding had not been suited to racing parked which had impacted on its ability to finish the race off.
OLIVE COOK - briefly hampered late in the score up.
BAILEYS DIAMOND - hung inwards late in the score up briefly crowding an inside runner.
RAKE - briefly hampered in the score up.
Race 2   XCM MOBILE PACE
CLASSY DANCER - held up leaving the final bend.
SERIOUS MOONLITE - trainer A Stuart was warned for being late to notify the gelding would be racing without blinds and the anti choke device. Hung outwards when weakening over the final stages.
JUDGEMENT BAY - raced wide early and middle stages.
RON MCKINLEY - over-raced middle stages. Held up leaving the final bend and early in the run home.
BETTOR BE SHARP - broke in the early stages of the score up however recovered to be in position at the start.
HEAVEN ON HIGH - held up for clear racing room until late in the run home.
Race 3   HOTEL MONTREAL MOBILE PACE
There was a slight delay to the start due to U R THE ONE requiring a gear adjustment.
LIZZIE RICHTER - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver G O'Reilly. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Broke near the 2100 metres hampering trailing runners and losing all chance. Stood down to complete two satisfactory trials prior to resuming.
BEYOND A SHADOW - hampered near the 2100 metres. Weakened leaving the final bend.
MAGICAL MILES - over-raced shortly after the start when attempting to obtain cover. Continued to over-race through the middle stages.
ALL TOO WELL - held up early in the run home.
ROCK'N KIWI - hampered and broke near the 2100 metres. Hung inwards and paced roughly at various stages throughout the race.
VIOLET KNIGHT - hung inwards rounding the first bend striking several track markers. Paced roughly in the middle stages.
Race 4   RESENE MOBILE TROT
AIGUILLE - trotted roughly in the run home.
MURANO - trotted roughly passing the 1500 metres and had to be steadied. Broke late in the run home. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
CODY BANNER - broke near the 250 metres after striking the sulky wheel of AIGUILLE. Stewards questioned driver J Dunn regarding this incident who advised after attempting to improve wide on the final bend the gelding had hung inwards and shifted down the track resulting in the horse making contact with the sulky wheel of AIGUILLE despite his efforts. After considering Mr Dunn's explanation, which was confirmed on the replays, Stewards took the matter no further other than to place a warning on the racing record of the gelding.
GLOBAL FLIGHT - trotted roughly in the run home.
SALLY LINDENNY - weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare had suffered an atrial fibrillation. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance, including the results of an ECG after completing strenuous exercise, prior to resuming.
Race 5   DOMINION TRADING MOBILE PACE
TERROR MARIA - the rein pricker was removed prior to the start after warming up unfavourably. Driver B Butt was warned for using his whip outside the confines of his sulky.
SERG BLANCO - held up early in the run home.
KISS THE GIRLS - permission was granted for the gelding to race in alternative colours.
MIKEY MAGUIRE - briefly held up near the 100 metres.
HEISENBERG - weakened in the run home. When spoken to regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised the gelding had been unsuited to racing parked.
Race 6   AIRPARK CANTERBURY HANDICAP TROT
ROYAL PRIDE - broke near the 1100 metres hampering a trailing runner before settling at the rear of the field. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial prior to resuming. Trotted roughly final bend.
EUROKASH - the connections advised the gelding has had a bone chip removed from a hind leg since last racing.
PRINCE TEKA - Stewards opened and adjourned a charge against driver I Cameron alleging he had used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. Stewards also opened and adjourned an enquiry into the manner in which Mr Cameron conducted himself in the Stewards room following the race.
BELISMA - broke after 100 metres hampering trailing runners and losing considerable ground.
HIDE N SPEAK - trotted roughly and weakened final bend.
TRIXTON TIME - pre-race warmed. When questioned regarding the performance driver C Dalgety advised he felt the gelding had failed to back up from its previous start on 16 April.
SIOUX PRINCESS - broke at the start losing all chance and was retired from the race.
QUIK SHOT - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1100 metres.
COCHY MALC - hampered by a breaking runner after 100 metres.
SMOKIN BANDAR - hampered by a breaking runner after 100 metres.
Driver I Cameron (PRINCE TEKA) admitted a misconduct charge under Rule 303(2) after he failed to remain in the Stewards room during an enquiry and used offensive language. After hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $500. Mr Cameron defended a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip & Rein Regulations alleging he had used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Cameron the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and imposed a fine of $200.
Race 7   LAMB & HAYWARD PACE
SWAGGER MAN - broke briefly at the start. Hung inwards and shifted down the track approaching the 2000 metres when driver D White attempted to activate the hopple shorteners resulting in the gelding breaking and contacting track markers. Raced greenly near the 1400 metres when leading. Again raced greenly near the 200 metres and shifted up the track briefly hampering trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards had spoken with driver R Holmes (BELLISSIMO ACQUISTO) placed 2nd, who confirmed his chances of beating SWAGGER MAN had not been affected and he did not wish to proceed with a protest. Co-trainer/driver D White advised he would be adding a shadow roll to the gelding's gear for future racing.
WESTAR LAD - hampered near the 200 metres.
MISTER BLUE SKY - hampered by a breaking runner near the 2000 metres.
WILLIAM GEES LEGACY - broke briefly at the start. Hampered after 150 metres. Over-raced middle stages. Driver S McNally was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home.
NADIRA FRANCO - weakened final bend.
INTERPOL - hung inwards after 150 metres and had to be steadied resulting in trailing runners being hampered. Again hung inwards on the final bend striking several track markers.
RAKERO STORM - shifted out briefly at the start hampering an outside runner. Hampered by an easing of the pace near the 1300 metres. Hung inwards at various stages throughout.
SWIFT GUY - hampered and broke at the start losing ground. Hampered by an easing of the pace near the 1300 metres. Over-raced middle stages. Held up final bend.
WHEELS OF FORTUNE - hampered after 150 metres and contacted the sulky wheel of INTERPOL resulting in the gelding pacing roughly for several strides. Hampered by an easing of the pace near the 1300 metres.
BETTOR BEHAVE - hung inwards and paced roughly near the 1300 metres resulting in a slight easing of the pace with trailing runners being hampered. Continued to hang inwards causing driver C DeFilippi difficulty. Weakened from the 600 metres.
BELLISSIMO ACQUISTO - hampered by a breaking runner near the 2000 metres. Briefly hampered near the 200 metres.
BLUE ON BLACK - broke at the start. Hampered by an easing of the pace near the 1300 metres.
WINEMEUP - fractious prior to the start. Hampered by an easing of the pace near the 1300 metres.
Race 8   FIRST DIRECT TAXIS MOBILE PACE
RUBY'S A DELIGHT - over-raced early and middle stages.
NYLA - lay outwards throughout the run home.
MARY AUSTIN - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1200 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised that after working hard in the early stages he was not disappointed with the filly's performance.
MITSI GAYNOR - when spoken to regarding the performance driver C Dalgety reported the filly had worked hard through the middle stages when racing wide on the track which had taken its toll over the concluding stages of the race.
EMMA'S BOY - briefly crowded near the 300 metres and had to shift wider on the track.
MOSSDALE MAC - raced wide early. Weakened leaving the final bend.
