Connections did not contest the Protest and after viewing replays the Adjudicative Committee relegated CODY BANNER to 4th placing with DWINDLE STAR promoted to 3rd placing. | |

When asked to comment on the improved performance Mr Ferguson advised the gelding had been trialling well since being acquired recently and had benefitted from gear changes and being removed from the Unruly since last racing. | |
ROLLON SUMMER - raced wide early until reaching the parked position near the 1500 metres. Weakened on the final bend. When asked to comment on the performance driver B Barclay advised he was disappointed with the effort and could offer no tangible excuse. | |

PADDYPROUDFOOT - faltered and broke passing the 800 metres checking trailing runners and being retired from the race. The gelding was immediately attended to by the on course Veterinarian before being placed in the Horse Ambulance and transported to the stabling area to undergo a Veterinary examination which revealed PADDYPROUDFOOT to have an injury to the right hind pastern. Connections were advised the gelding was stood down pending a Veterinary clearance prior to resuming. |

When asked to comment on the performance junior driver M Hurrell could offer no explanation other than that the gelding may have been unsuited to racing parked on a fast tempo. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding with trainer C Ferguson in the coming days. | |
MABALENE - Junior driver S O'Reilly reported she did not release the removable deafeners due to having the field covered. | |
WOLFENSTEIN - over-raced on various occasions during the running. Weakened on the final bend. | |
Trainer C Ferguson advised Stewards on 21 April that YOROKOBI had recovered well since last racing and the gelding will continue with the current preparation. |
