Race 5 - WOODLANDS STUD FREE-FOR-ALL TROT (STANDING START)
Stewards questioned driver C DeFilippi regarding the sliding blinds not being activated on HEAVYWEIGHT HERO. Mr DeFilippi explained that the cord had become entangled around the sulky shaft resulting in him being unable to activate them despite his efforts. Stewards accepted Mr DeFilippi's explanation however reminded him that he must notify Stewards at the earliest opportunity when gear is unable to be activated.
Race 7 - HORNBY LIQUOR HANDICAP TROT
Driver S Ottley (QUIK SHOT) admitted driving carelessly shortly after the start when dictating SODS LAW inwards checking REPEAT PAT and I DREAM OF JEANNIE. After considering penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Miss Ottley's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 25 March up to and including 31 March 2022 (2 days).

Trainer R Todd advised Stewards on 22 March that blood tests taken from EASTWOOD ISABELLA following its last start have revealed no abnormalities with the mare recovering well and continuing with its current preparation.

Race 1   IRT. YOUR HORSE. OUR PASSION. MOBILE PACE
PEMBROOK'S PRINCESS - lay outwards through the back straight on the final occasion when pacing roughly. Driver S Payne was warned for using his whip free of the rein on one occasion in the run home.
CUT GLASS - lay outwards over the concluding stages. When questioned regarding the performance trainer G Payne advised that the gelding is one paced and had been unable to improve its position when racing wide on the final bend.
ALL TOO WELL - weakened final bend. Driver C Butt admitted using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion on the final bend and after hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.
GET KRAKEN - when spoken to regarding the improved performance trainer/driver J Cox advised the horse had shown natural improvement from its first race back from a spell and had received an economical run throughout.
ATOMIC TRAVELLER - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver M Williamson. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts. Over-raced middle stages.
MAGICAL MILES - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver K Butt. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
VIOLET KNIGHT - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. Stood down to complete one satisfactory mobile trial.
Race 2   MORE FM 2YO MOBILE TROT
SHOW NO FEAR - trotted roughly near the 700 metres.
MONARCH PRINCE - over-raced passing the 1300 metres when being eased to take a trail.
TOP OF THE HILL - trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. Held up for clear racing room late in the run home. Driver S Payne was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
GRACIAS - trotted roughly in the run home.
THE FIERY COUNTESS - broke in the score up losing ground. Broke again on the first bend losing all chance.
MAXWELL EDISON - trotted roughly at the start and had to be steadied.
Race 3   STYLE MAGAZINE (JUNIOR DRIVERS) PACE
LE POLE DANCER - reared and broke at the start checking an outside runner and lost all chance. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial from a stand. Stable representative P Davis advised the mare would be restricted to mobile starts in the immediate future.
ROCKNROLL DIVA - contacted by an inside runner at the start.
SHEEZA PURLA - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Paced roughly early stages. Weakened leaving the final bend.
KOWHAI SHADOW - paced roughly at various stages throughout. Held up leaving the final bend.
Race 4   THE EDGE TROT
RUTHLESS LINDY - broke at the start losing all chance.
ROYDON MUSCLE - broke at the start and attempted to buck losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
ELLATINE - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. Sent to the unruly position by the Starter where it will remain for future standing starts.
MUZZ - broke after 100 metres losing all chance.
CASHEM - broke at the start losing all chance.
SOARING - slow in the early stages.
RACEY KRUSA - fractious prior to the start. Broke near the 600 metres losing ground.
NAZARETH - broke at the start losing all chance.
RAINING IN MY HEART - fractious prior to the start. Raced wide early. Weakened final bend.
LOOKSLIKEATRIXTER - raced wide early.
Race 5   GO MEDIA YOUNG AT HEART MOBILE PACE
LILAC BECKY - broke briefly in the score up however was in position at the start. Shifted outwards on the final bend when insufficiently clear of MILS MCARDLE which was checked and broke. Driver J Markham defended a charge alleging he had driven carelessly in this incident. After viewing the films and hearing submissions from Stewards and Mr Markham the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and Mr Markham's driver's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 5 April 2022 (3 days).
REFINE - when questioned regarding the performance trainer B Hope advised he was disappointed with the effort and will be having blood tests taken. Stewards will follow up the results with Mr Hope in the coming days.
EASTWOOD ISABELLA - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer R Todd advised the mare had been able to capitalise on an economical run throughout.
MILS MCARDLE - checked and broke near the 300 metres.
Trainer B Hope advised Stewards on 28 March that blood tests taken from REFINE following its last start have revealed no abnormalities with the mare continuing with its current preparation.
Race 6   BEACON BILLBOARDS MOBILE PACE
I'LL WRITE THE STORY - hung outwards and over-raced early and middle stages.
MAID OF MONEY - broke near the 1600 metres losing all chance and was retired from the event. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
ULTIMATE BIRD - driver B Butt was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
DISMARA - over-raced early stages.
Race 7   PHANTOM BILLSTICKERS TROT
READY I AM - broke at the start losing ground. Over-raced middle stages. Held up final bend and again late in the run home.
ZSAHARA - broke at the start losing ground.
CLASSIC CALL - broke after 100 metres. Broke again near the 1300 metres losing ground.
CALL THIS FUN - broke racing into the first bend. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial prior to resuming.
DD'S SUPER STUART - hung inwards and struck track markers on the final bend. Driver J Markham was warned to make a greater effort to avoid contacting track markers in future.
SOUTH PARK - broke at the start losing ground. Over-raced middle stages. Placed in restricted room on the final bend and struck track markers.
KOWHAI SUNDOWN - trotted roughly in the run home.
WYNBERG WATCH - broke racing into the first bend losing ground. Lay inwards final bend placing SOUTH PARK in restricted room resulting in the mare striking track markers.
Race 8   FIRST DIRECT TAXIS MOBILE PACE
WILL HE ROCK - paced roughly at various stages throughout. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised the gelding had felt uncomfortable in its action and had failed to handle the bends. Mr Dunn added that he was of the opinion the gelding had been cross-firing and would be recommending gear changes. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with trainer M Purvis in the coming days.
SHARDS FURY - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
EYECON - over-raced middle stages.
GIVEMEWHATINEED - over-raced early when being restrained to the rear. Continued to over-race through the middle stages.
Trainer M Purvis advised Stewards on 29 March that WILL HE ROCK and all other horses in his stable have been treated for a cold since last racing.
