T K NIHILATOR - broke near the 300 metres.
RUSH - broke late in the run home. Authorisation of 2nd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
THE ROYAL GAMBLE - broke near the 300 metres.
PARIS PRINCE - broke briefly at the start.
MUZZ - broke after 200 metres losing all chance.
NORDIC PRINCE - broke briefly at the start. Trotted roughly in the run home.
BUTCHER KATE - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Broke again near the 1200 metres losing all chance.
PRESIDENT PAT - slow away. Over-raced middle stages.
SHEZA MIGHTY MONARCH - broke racing over the crossing near the 1700 metres losing ground.
THE BEAT - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home. Driver G Smith reported that the gelding had trotted roughly throughout.
Race 2   CHRIS & GEMMA THORNLEY FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
FLOSSY REIGN - locked wheels briefly with SHEZA MANIPULATOR near the 1700 metres
BETTORLINI - shifted up the track in the run home. Driver J Dunn will be spoken to in the coming days regarding his obligations to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
RAMADA - when questioned regarding the performance driver G O'Reilly advised that the mare got too far back from a wide draw and was unable to make ground due to the fast closing sectionals. He added that in his opinion the horse would derive considerable benefit from the run.
MACY BLACK - over-raced middle stages. Paced roughly and broke leaving the final bend after a side carrier came adrift. Trainer/driver M Edmonds was issued with a $100 Minor Infringement notice for failing to affix this gear so as not to come adrift.
SHEZA MANIPULATOR - locked wheels briefly with FLOSSY REIGN near the 1700 metres.
SWEET JOY - paced roughly and broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Over-raced middle stages.
Race 3   ALPINE VILLAGE INN/CHALLENGE LINCOLN/MARK TWEEDY PACE
NADIRA FRANCO - crowded in the run home by an outside runner.
CABELLO - hampered near the 150 metres and had to be steadied. Crowded late in the run home.
FIRE IN THE RAIN - hampered near the 150 metres. Driver M Edmonds defended a charge alleging he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing from Mr Edmonds and Stewards, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and suspended Mr Edmonds' driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 1 April 2022 (4 days).
BACKBURN - raced greenly and shifted up the track in the early stages and again near the 1600 metres. Hung inwards into the passing lane in the run home and when being corrected checked RIMU VALLEY with outside runners also being hampered. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Trainer/driver K Cox advised that she would be making gear changes prior to the gelding resuming. Ms Cox admitted using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.
GANA - shifted outwards near the 400 metres checking ATOMIC TRAVELLER and locked wheels with that runner. Driver J Curtin admitted driving carelessly in this incident and after hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Curtin's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and concluding 27 March 2022 (3 days). Hampered near the 150 metres.
IRON WOMAN - held up early and middle stages of the run home. Hampered near the 150 metres.
ATOMIC TRAVELLER - broke at the start losing ground. Checked and locked wheels with GANA near the 400 metres and broke losing all chance.
RIMU VALLEY - held up early and middle stages of the run home. Checked and broke near the 150 metres.
LAY ON MACDUFF - held up early and middle stages of the run home. Hampered near the 150 metres.
IS HE WATCHING ME - hampered near the 150 metres.
JANARTY - fractious prior to the start and swung outwards being out of position as the start was effected. Broke in the early stages. Held up in the run home. Authorisation of placings were withheld until Stewards had spoken to driver G Thornley, Starter R Donnelly and viewed the films in relation to the start regarding the starting position of JANARTY. After hearing from all parties, Stewards declared the mare a non-runner due to unsatisfactory manners. Stood down from standing starts until the completion of one satisfactory trial.
GRINNING AGAIN - hampered near the 150 metres.
Race 4   ENTERPRISE RECRUITMENT MOBILE PACE
WHAKAREHU - over-raced early stages. Weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stewards will follow up on the recovery of the gelding in the coming days
PAYTONS ROCK - trainer T Bagrie was issued with a warning for presenting the gelding to race with the incorrect colours. Raced wide early stages.
CUT GLASS - held up final bend.
ON REPORT - held up final bend.
MELANDO CHIEF - driver J Curtin reported he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord breaking. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
Trainer G Court advised Stewards on 12 April that WHAKAREHU had recovered well since last racing and had trialed satisfactorily in preparation for racing today.
Race 5   IAN CAMPBELL MEMORIAL TROT
JAKARTA - broke at the start losing all chance.
BELISMA - broke at the start losing all chance.
SALLY LINDENNY - held up early in the run home.
MENTALIST - over-raced when being restrained to obtain cover near the 1400 metres.
ESCARGO - raced wide early stages. When spoken to regarding the performance driver B Orange reported the mare had worked hard in the early stages to obtain the lead with the effort taking its toll.
ILLEGAL ALIEN - held up early in the run home.
Race 6   PAUL RENWICK FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
KALI B - weakened leaving the final bend.
EMMY - retired from the race near the 1300 metres after the near side sulky shaft detached from the quick hitch attachment. Trainer S McRae was issued with a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for faulty gear.
SPICY GIRL BECQUI - over-raced early when being restrained to obtain cover.
TIGER TAYLOR - held up leaving final bend.
KOWHAI SHADOW - over-raced early when being restrained to obtain cover.
DALNESS FIRST - over-raced through the middle stages.
Race 7   NORJO MOTORCYCLES JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
SHARDS FURY - trainer B Negus was issued with a warning for presenting the gelding to race with the incorrect colours.
THE PEACEMAKER - reared and fell to the track prior to the start causing a delay. Declared a late scratching on veterinary advice. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
BETTERWITHBLING - junior driver M Hurrell (assisted by M Williamson) defended a charge of using his whip in a continuous manner in the run home. After viewing replays and hearing evidence from all parties the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and following penalty submissions suspended Mr Hurrell's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 23 March up to and including 25 March 2022 (2 days).
BETTER FLY - broke over the crossing near 1700 metres losing ground and hampered a trailing runner.
OLIVE COOK - junior driver K Bublitz reported that he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
EASTWOOD ISABELLA - weakened leaving the final bend. Stewards will follow up on the recovery of the mare in the coming days.
JAZELLE - hampered near the 1700 metres.
RAZORS EDGE - junior driver G Thornley (assisted by J Morrison) admitted using her whip in a continuous manner in the run home. After hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.
Trainer R Todd advised Stewards on 22 March that blood tests taken from EASTWOOD ISABELLA following its last start have revealed no abnormalities with the mare recovering well and continuing with its current preparation.

MOTOR MOUTH - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
ELO LOUISE - broke at the start losing ground.

ARIZONAWILDCAT - lay inwards throughout the run home.

CARANA - driver J Hay admitted using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion and in a continuous manner in the run home. After hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Hay's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing 27 March 2022 up to and including 8 April 2022. (4 days).
BUENA VISTA - hampered at the start. Weakened leaving final bend.
LUMINITE - broke at the start and shifted inwards hampering an inside runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.

KANSAS CITY JIM - broke near the 300 metres losing all chance.
HONOUR SCROLL - crowded near the 1600 metres striking several track markers.
RAFA NOVAK - over-raced middle stages when leading.
MANZINI - held up early run home.
STARKERS - held up leaving the final bend and throughout the run home.
GOSAKHI - raced wide early stages and over-raced. Weakened over the concluding stages.
DALNESS ARIZONA - weakened leaving the final bend. Driver M Hurrell was issued with a warning for shifting inwards racing near the 1600 metres crowding an inside runner.
SHEEZAGOLDENGIRL - raced wide without cover from the 800 metres.

Race 10   LARRY & MURRAY HAMILTON/ MORRISONS SADDLERY TROT
RACHMANINOV - broke at the start losing ground.
BELLEROPHONTE - broke after 200 metres losing all chance.
GAYTANA - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Broke at the start losing ground. Broke again near the 250 metres.
THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT - broke at the start losing ground.
JESPER FAST - over-raced middle stages.
SILVERLININGS - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.

MARK DUNNETT - raced wide early. Held up early in the run home.
JOURNO - weakened leaving final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised that the gelding had worked hard in the early stages with the effort taking its toll.
