Trainer J Cox advised Stewards on 17 March that blood tests taken from MAYBE showed the horse to be suffering from a mild virus which has been treated with the horse continuing with its current preparation. |

Driver B Orange elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the restart. Hung inwards at various stages during the running causing driver B Orange some difficulty. | |

BETTOR GRUNTER - crowded in the score up by an inside runner and was slightly out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver J Curtin. | |

MATADEROS - co-trainers R & J Dunn were warned for failing to advise the gelding has had a wind operation since last racing. Hung inwards and trotted roughly final bend striking several track markers. | |

Stewards questioned driver C DeFilippi regarding the sliding blinds not being activated on HEAVYWEIGHT HERO. Mr DeFilippi explained that the cord had become entangled around the sulky shaft resulting in him being unable to activate them despite his efforts. Stewards accepted Mr DeFilippi's explanation however reminded him that he must notify Stewards at the earliest opportunity when gear is unable to be activated. |

When questioned regarding the performance trainer A Hoffman and driver R May both advised the gelding had to work too hard during the running with the effort taking its toll. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. | |

Driver S Ottley (QUIK SHOT) admitted driving carelessly shortly after the start when dictating SODS LAW inwards checking REPEAT PAT and I DREAM OF JEANNIE. After considering penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Miss Ottley's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 25 March up to and including 31 March 2022 (2 days). |

JACK RYAN - slow to leave the pre-race formation after refusing to turn out with the remainder of the field. Broke briefly at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Shifted inwards near the 900 metres when insufficiently clear of PERAKI SEELSTER which was checked with the trailing GOT YOU COVERED and LIFES A BEACH also being checked. Junior driver B Hope (assisted by G Hope) admitted driving carelessly in this incident and after hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Hope's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 23 March up to and including 3 April 2022 (5 days) and in addition imposed a fine of $400. Paced roughly final bend. | |
