Race 1   BOOK NOW FOR AUCKLAND CUP NIGHT MAY 27 TROT
ESCAPE THE PACE - late scratching at 8.45am with a satisfactory explanation provided.
MI ANNA - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner and lost ground. Trotted roughly for several strides near the 1100 metres.
FAITH IN MANCHESTER - raced keenly near the 1200 metres and broke losing ground. Broke near the 200 metres when briefly crowded losing all chance.
GAZZA GALLEON - broke briefly at the start. Broke again racing into the first bend losing considerable ground. A final warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
LORD POPINJAY - broke at the start losing all chance.
ALANA - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Driver S McCaffrey was warned for the manner in which he shifted ground near the 200 metres. Mr McCaffrey was also shown a replay and spoken to advisedly in relation to using his whip in a continuous manner late in the run home.
ERROL D - slow over the early stages. Lay in rounding the bends.
ELLARIA SAND - broke briefly at the start.
B K MERLOT - broke near the 600 metres losing ground before settling. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
Race 2   NRM MOBILE PACE
FOREVER A DANCER - raced keenly in the middle stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room until passing the 150 metres.
MERCURY RISING - driver M McKendry was issued with a warning for the manner in which he shifted ground near the 100 metres which resulted in BLAMEITONTHENIGHT being placed in restricted room.
TONI STREET - hampered by a weakening runner near the 600 metres.
NEYMAR - gave ground from the 500 metres. Broke passing the 100 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
BLAMEITONTHENIGHT - paced roughly approaching the 100 metres when placed in restricted room. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. When spoken to regarding the performance trainer/driver T Herlihy advised that he was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation. Mr Herlihy added he would discuss with connections the colt's immediate racing programme.
ENJOY ME - the required veterinary clearance was received.
THEE OLD BOMB - raced greenly near the 1900 metres when leading. Treated by the Veterinarian following the race for a small wound to the near fore fetlock.
THEMIGHTY MIKI - broke late in the score up losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the colt.
Race 3   MCMILLAN EQUINE FEEDS MOBILE PACE
OUTLAW MAN - held up rounding the final bend.
MIMI E COCO - weakened in the run home.
ACE STRIKE - locked wheels with MELANION near the 1500 metres and broke losing all chance.
HESASHORETHING - driver J Abernethy was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
MELANION - lay in near the 1500 metres and locked wheels with ACE STRIKE resulting in both runners breaking and losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
BETTOR LISTEN - checked near the 1500 metres and had to take evasive action. Weakened in the run home.
RAVEN BANNER - checked near the 1500 metres and had to take evasive action.
Race 4   MAJESTIC HORSE FLOATS HANDICAP TROT
MOLLY BELLE - began awkwardly and shifted outwards at the start.
BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY - when questioned regarding the performance trainer T Herlihy advised that he was satisfied with the mare's effort considering that the horse hadn't raced for three weeks. Mr Herlihy added that he expected the mare to derive benefit from tonight's race.
SACRED MOUNTAIN - driver N Chilcott was issued with a warning for allowing her runner to shift into the passing lane in the run home.
IN SEQUENCE - broke racing into the first bend losing ground. Broke passing the 50 metres and failed to settle. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
KIMKAR DASH - pre-raced warmed. Slow in the early stages. Trotted roughly leaving the final bend.
REGAL ATTIRE - lay outwards leaving the final bend.
ANDITOVER - trotted roughly over the final stages.
SPECIAL WAY - broke passing the 1000 metres losing ground.
Race 5   PASCOES THE JEWELLERS NORTHERN OAKS PRELUDE (MOB PACE)
DANCE TILL DAWN - Stewards investigated a possible breach of the Push Out Rule near the 2000 metres when DANCE TILL DAWN (B Mangos) shifted outwards as REMEMBER ME (C Dalgety) was shifting ground inwards from an outside draw. After viewing the replays and hearing from both drivers it was established that DANCE TILL DAWN had shifted ground outwards when entitled to do so as REMEMBER ME had not been positioned in the two wide line however shortly after DANCE TILL DAWN had raced greenly and shifted further up the track despite the efforts of Mr Mangos which briefly forced REMEMBER ME to race wider on the track. After considering the matter, no further action was deemed necessary. Hampered near the 100 metres. Mr Mangos was warned for using his whip free of the rein on several occasions shortly after the start.
COVER GIRL - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room until passing the 50 metres. Driver B Butt was issued with a warning for the manner in which he shifted ground passing the 100 metres which resulted in DANCE TILL DAWN being hampered. Mr Butt was also spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
REMEMBER ME - forced to race wider on the track near the 2000 metres after DANCE TILL DAWN had raced greenly and shifted up the track despite the efforts of driver B Mangos.
Race 6   LINCOLN FARMS THE FOUNDERS CUP (1700) MOBILE PACE
IT'S ALL ABOUT FAITH - raced keenly through the middle stages. Held up final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
SELF ASSURED - permission was granted for the over-check to be removed on the gelding due to warming up unfavourably.
Race 7   WOODLANDS STUD NORTHERN DERBY PRELUDE (MOB PACE)
The track was downgraded to Slushy prior to this event and trainers were instructed to affix mudguards to their sulkies.
MAGIC FOUR - permission was granted for the gelding to race with removable deafeners on.
MR IBIZA - over-raced middle stages.
BEACH BALL - driver B Mangos was shown a replay and spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
Race 8   CROMBIE LOCKWOOD B'STOCK YOUNG GUNS FILLIES HT 3 (MOB PACE)
KAHLUA FLYBYE - lay in passing the 400 metres.
AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE - lay out in the run home.
ART D'OR - broke at the start losing ground.
SECRET DELIGHT - raced greenly leaving the final bend.
Race 9   IRT - EXCELLENCE IN EQUINE AIRFREIGHT MOBILE PACE
JONO B - lay in near the 1900 metres.
TE AMO - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Crowded near the 150 metres. Held up throughout the run home.
FRANKIE J HOLDEN - lay out when weakening leaving the final bend before crowding an outside runner near the 150 metres.
MIDFREW LUCRE - over raced in the middle stages.
OHOKA CREED - paced roughly passing the 1750 metres. Hampered passing the 150 metres.
THE FISHERMAN - driver T Mitchell was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
CYA DOIT - lay in near the 850 metres. Held up by a weakening runner leaving the final bend before being crowded near the 150 metres.
AMERICAN LEGACY - over raced in the middle stages.
Race 10   BRECKON FARMS YOUNG GUNS 2YO C & G HT 3 (MOB PACE)
SOONER THE BETTOR - driver S Phelan was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
TREACHEROUS REIGN - out of position at the start. Crowded shortly after the start.
MIKI BENNETT - lay in shortly after the start crowding an inside runner and paced roughly having to be steadied.
HUGO MAGUIRE - broke at the start losing all chance.
BECKHAM(AUS) - out of position at the start.
Race 11   THE ALEX BAR & EATERY HANDICAP TROT
DIAMANT BLEU - raced keenly middle stages.
BRIENNE - broke passing the 150 metres and settled inside the 50 metres. Driver J Abernethy reported that the mare had struck its near side sulky wheel causing it to break.
VORONOV - raced on terms with the leader through the early and middle stages. Weakened rounding the final bend.
LOVE AND FAITH - swung outwards at the start and was slow to begin. Weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance co-trainer/driver D Ferguson advised that he was disappointed with the mare's effort after trialing well recently. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the horse in the coming days.
ASTERIA LAVRA - held up leaving the final bend.
SLY PUNTER - trotted roughly at various stages throughout.
SOLEDAD - broke passing the 1000 metres losing all chance. Stood down pending a satisfactory trial.
CRUISE CONTROL - gave ground final bend.
Co-trainer D Ferguson advised Stewards on 24 March that LOVE AND FAITH had recovered well from its last start and will be freshened prior to resuming.
