Race 1   CADUCEUS CLUB OF SOUTHLAND HANDICAP TROT
Stewards questioned Starter B Ward regarding the front line horses completing an extra circle before the start. Mr Ward advised that this was at his direction due to the horses turning into address the barrier strand quicker than he had anticipated which would have resulted in the race starting prior to the official race time.
DONT ASK - trotted roughly near the 2000 metres and had to be steadied.
AVEROSS MAJESTY - hung inwards at various stages. Broke near the 1750 metres losing all chance.
Race 2   OMALASS DRIED MOLASSES MOBILE PACE
SAINT WAITAKI - driver R Swain was issued with a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for using his whip on two occasions with his foot removed from the sulky footrest passing the 150 metres. Mr Swain was also issued with a warning for using his whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
COOL IDEA - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1600 metres.
SPEIGHTS ON TAP - when asked to comment on the seemingly disappointing performance trainer/driver B McLellan could offer no tangible explanation. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
CHANGEAROUND - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1500 metres.
ATARAH - weakened leaving the final bend.
UNSURPASSABLE - trainer T Stratford was issued with a warning for presenting this gelding without the notified Blinds. Out of position at the start. Driver B Orange was issued with a warning.
CHEZZ DALE - lay inwards in the run home when under pressure.
JABALI - weakened from the 600 metres.
LINCOLN SKIPPER - lay inwards in the run home when being driven out.
Race 3   ASCOT FOUR SQUARE FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
PHIL'S LAST CHANCE - returned to the stabling area lame in the off-front leg with a subsequent Veterinary examination revealing the mare to have suffered a tendon injury. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
HEY MIKI DENARIO - when asked to comment on the performance driver B Barclay expressed his disappointment however could offer no excuse.
DIDSHEDOIT - when asked to comment on the improved performance trainer M Swain advised he was not surprised by the effort of the mare today after racing well last week when getting too far back on a fast pace. Mr Swain added that DIDSHEDOIT had benefitted from a good draw today and an economical trip throughout.
CHOGI - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Driver K Barclay reported a sulky tyre had deflated in the run home.
CELTIC ABBEY - paced roughly and raced greenly in the run home before breaking near the 150 metres. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
Race 4   SHANE MATHESON CRUTCHING / WILLY'S FLOORING MOBILE PACE
TEDDY BAKER - held up leaving the final bend.
THREETIMESBETTER - broke late in the score-up checking trailing runners, resulting in a false start being declared. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Driver P Hunter elected to start from the Unruly position for the restart where the mare will now be drawn for future mobile starts. Held up on the final bend.
NGAROMA - weakened from the 800 metres. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have suffered significant chafing from the hopples. Trainer A Paisley advised NGAROMA would be sent for a brief freshen up and he would be making gear changes prior to the gelding racing next.
TALIESIN - hampered by a weakening runner near the 700 metres. Held up on the final bend.
SHERWOOD MAGGIE - raced wide early. When asked to comment on the disappointing performance junior driver S O'Reilly could offer no explanation.
ONELOVEONELIFE - held up on the final bend.
VIBURNUM - paced roughly as the start was effected losing ground. Raced wide on the final bend.
FRIENDLY EYRE - raced wide on the final bend.
SIR LANCELOT - paced roughly passing the 1100 metres losing ground. Held up rounding the final bend and until late in the run home.
TIGERS WATCHING - when asked to comment on the performance junior driver E Barron advised the mare had become worked up after the false start however recovered well post-race.
Race 5   MOSSDALE RACING MOBILE PACE
BRIGADIERS SON - weakened over the concluding stages.
MACH QUILLAN - raced keenly when leading through the middle stages. Junior driver K Tomlinson reported she did not release the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
NYLA - driver C Ferguson reported the mare had hung on various occasions during the running.
THE OTHER BROTHER - trainer J Douglas reported the gelding has had its hocks treated since last racing.
WOODLEA DIEGO - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1100 metres.
MR MCLAREN - junior driver T Larsen was issued with a warning for driving with his foot removed from the sulky footrest on the final bend.
FRANCO HUNTINGTON - raced wide early. Paced roughly on the final bend. Held up throughout the run home.
MELTON MAFIA - weakened on the final bend.
THE HIGH COMMANDER - weakened from the 700 metres. When asked to comment on the performance driver B Barclay advised the gelding had felt lethargic throughout. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality. Stewards will follow up with trainer B Gray in the coming days.
TINTORETTO - lay inwards on the bends and dislodged a track marker near the 1300 metres. Held up by a weakening runner near the 700 metres.
BETTER GALLEON - broke in the score-up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
PROVISEUR - over-raced in the score-up and through the early stages.
THE BIG LEBOWSKI - held up by a weakening runner near the 700 metres.
CAPTAIN STARLIGHT - hung inwards near the 500 metres when weakening causing driver R McIlwrick some difficulty.
Trainer B Gray advised Stewards on 17 March that THE HIGH COMMANDER had recovered well from its last start with the gelding continuing with its current preparation.
Race 6   ALABAR SUPREMACY STAKES (HEAT 3) MOBILE PACE
MOSSDALE TERRY - over-raced in the middle stages.
WATCHLIST - broke shortly after the start and shifted outwards hampering outside runners and losing ground. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts.
CANTFINDABETTORMAN - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Checked near the 100 metres and paced roughly. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have suffered significant abrasions to the inside of the off-front fetlock. Co-trainers G Anderson and M Love advised they will have CANTFINDABETTORMAN undergo a further Veterinary examination on return to its home stable. Stewards will follow up in the coming days.
MOSSDALE BEN - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Shifted inwards near the 100 metres making contact with the off fore-leg of CANTFINDABETTORMAN. Junior driver B Hope (assisted by C Barron) admitted that he drove carelessly at this stage of the race. After viewing replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Hope's licence to drive from the conclusion of racing on 18 March up to and including 23 March 2022 (4 days).
Co-trainer G Anderson advised Stewards on 17 March that CANTFINDABETTORMAN is recovering well after last racing and is continuing with its current preparation.
Race 7   CADUCEUS CLUB OF SOUTHLAND/ALABAR FILLIES CLASSIC MOB PACE
TAKEITOUT - broke racing into the first bend hampering trailing runners and losing ground as a consequence.
WAYWARD ANGEL - over-raced and paced roughly when being restrained to obtain cover approaching the 1000 metres. Again paced roughly in the run home.
MICAITLEN DENARIO - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
TREACHEROUS GALL - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
IVONA DADIC - broke in the score-up and was out of position at the start. Hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
TARA VICTORY - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
Race 8   KUBALA SEEDS MOBILE PACE
BLACK OPS - late scratching on Veterinary advice at 3.30pm.
I'M TROUBLE - hampered by a weakening runner near the 700 metres. Held up early in the run home.
CAST A SHADOW - over-raced in the middle stages. Weakened from the 700 metres. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slow recovery. Trainer B Nicol advised he would have blood tests conducted in the coming days which Stewards will follow up.
GEORGIE ZUKOV - raced wide early.
ART COURAGE - over-raced in the middle stages. Weakened on the final bend.
QUADDIE VC - hampered by a weakening runner near the 700 metres.
HIMSELF - paced roughly and broke late in the run home. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until the Stewards were satisfied the gelding had not breached the Breaking Horses Regulation at this stage of the race.
Trainer B Nicol advised Stewards on 17 March that blood tests taken from CAST A SHADOW after last racing showed no abnormalities adding the horse is having a brief spell before resuming its preparation.
Race 9   TIP TOP ICE CREAM / NIGHT 'N DAY AUTUMN CUP (HCP PACE))
PERONI - held up on the final bend.
DOCTOR TIM - held up on the final bend and early in the run home.
CHUCKLES - weakened on the final bend.
WARLOCH - broke at the start losing ground.
MEMPHIS TENNESSEE - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Held up by a weakening runner on the final bend.
Race 10   GORDON SUTHERLAND MEMORIAL/MARK JONES RACING STABLE HCP TROT
MISS BAMBOOCHA - broke rounding the first bend losing all chance.
ROBO TROUBLE - weakened from the 700 metres.
INSIST THE WIN - broke at the start losing ground. Weakened on the final bend.
RUBY SEDDON - trotted roughly throughout the run home.
ANDIAMO - broke racing into the first bend. Weakened on the final bend.

Race 11   CRUICKSHANK PRYDE / MCCALLUMS DRYCLEANING MOBILE PACE
TANGIER TANGO - weakened on the final bend.
HALEY ROBYN - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver C Ferguson. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
LIVY DESMA - hung inwards rounding the first bend and raced in restricted room when MEOHMYMARTINI on its outside shifted to the parked position.
MEOHMYMARTINI - shifted ground inwards placing LIVY DESMA in tight quarters racing into the first bend. Junior driver T Larsen was issued with a warning. Held up by a weakening runner on the final bend.
BALLYMENA - held up rounding the final bend and early in the run home.
