Race 1   SOUTHBROOK AMATEUR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
DALNESS ARIZONA - held up by a weakening runner final bend.
NIKKI NOTO - weakened final bend.
DISMARA - had to be heavily restrained near the 1200 metres when there was an easing of the pace. Held up by a weakening runner final bend and early in the run home.
DALNESS FIRST - back slightly at the start after being crowded late in the score up. When spoken to regarding the performance driver K McClintock advised his horse had raced lethargically throughout and proved disappointing. Stewards will follow up in the coming days.
JUST HOLLA - lay inwards late in the score up and again shortly after the start.
THE OPTIMIST - contacted the sulky wheel of DALNESS FIRST entering the final bend and broke losing all chance. Driver B White, assisted by M Williamson, admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly in this incident. After viewing the films and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.
SHARDS FURY - driver J Buckland-Stevens reported that due to her runner racing roughly she had not released the hopple shorteners.
Race 2   WAIMAKARIRI DISTRICT TROT
DRAGONS SUNRISE - broke briefly at the start. Driver C Butt was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
TAHIR TROUBLE - broke leaving the final bend.
NORDIC PRINCE - trotted roughly in the run home.
ROSE ISLE - hampered on the final bend.
BRANDY AND DRY - broke at the start losing ground.
THE BEAT - underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination after racing at NZMTC last night and was cleared to start. Trotted roughly final bend and broke near the 200 metres.
T K NIHILATOR - trotted roughly for a short distance on the final bend. Stewards spoke with driver S Clarke regarding this who explained his runner had raced greenly throughout and hung inwards on the final bend causing it to become poorly positioned close to the sulky of TAHIR TROUBLE.
COSMIC ANGEL - broke on the final bend.
TAKE NOTICE - hampered and broke on the final bend.
EMPRESS OF THE SUN - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial from a stand. Broke again on the final bend.
Race 3   NORTH CANTERBURY TROTTING MOBILE PACE
TALIESIN - broke in the score up losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
YOU FLY WITH ME - over-raced middle stages.
KALI B - held up throughout the run home.
SMART SHADOW - underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination after racing at NZMTC last night and was cleared to start. Broke in the score up losing all chance and was retired from the race. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
MACH'S ELIMINATOR - broke in the score up losing all chance and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
HIKOI HINE - underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination after racing at NZMTC last night and was cleared to start. Had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
Race 4   RANGIORA STEWARDS & LIFE MEMBERS HCP TROT
QUIK SHOT - hampered by a breaking runner entering the first bend having to be steadied.
GREENBANK BETTY - late scratching at 12.30pm on Veterinary advice. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
MUSCLE BANK - broke racing into the first bend. Lay inwards in the run home. Driver G Smith reported that because of this he had not been able to activate the mare's sliding blinds. Authorisation of 2nd placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the mare had not galloped further than 150 metres when in a break on the first bend.
BOYZ INVASION - broke at the start losing ground. Weakened final bend.
Race 5   ASHLEY HOTEL PACE
RAKERO'S DELIGHT - broke racing over the crossing near the 1500 metres. Paced roughly on the final bend having to be steadied.
ALL TOO WELL - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
SEAPRIS - held up until late in the run home. Driver B Hope reported he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
BUENA VISTA - paced roughly in the run home.
PRETTYBOYCOBY - raced wide early stages.
GRINNING AGAIN - briefly held up over the concluding stages.
LET'S GO RINGO - lay inwards in the run home having to be corrected.
DON'T BRING LULU - broke at the start losing ground. Driver R Close reported he dropped his whip entering the home straight.
GANA - held up throughout the run home.
Race 6   TEAM TEAL CHALLENGE INVITED DRIVERS PACE
TAURUS - raced greenly racing over the crossing near the 1500 metres. Lay outwards through the middle stages.
JOURNO - hampered and broke at the start. Broke for several strides near the 1400 metres due to an easing of the pace. Held up early in the run home.
LE POLE DANCER - bounded inwards as the start was effected hampering inside runners and losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
RAFA NOVAK - held up early in the run home.
JUST MICHAEL - held up early in the run home.
PIECE OF GOLD - had to be steadied near the 1600 metres when there was an easing of the pace in the two wide line.
GLENGARRY MOONLIGHT - fractious prior to the start. Hampered by a breaking runner at the start.
WHITE DIAMOND GOLD - fractious prior to the start. Hampered by a breaking runner at the start.
EL SIRRAR - fractious prior to the start. Broke at the start losing ground. Held up early in the run home.
DONEGAL CARRICKFIN - raced three wide without cover from the 1200 metres.

STELLA'S DELIGHT - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
ENDLESS DREAMS - a false start was declared when ENDLESS DREAMS broke in the score up checking runners on the second line. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Driver B Orange elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the re-start.
BEEPS - paced roughly with 100 metres remaining.
AVEROSS RUSTLER - raced wide early.
BEST TRIO - raced wide early.
GOSAKHI - raced wide early.
OPAWA LOUIE - broke in the score up of the re-start however was in position at the start.
Race 8   KAIAPOI MOBILE PACE
SZYBKA LANE - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home. Driver J Dunn reported he did not activate the sliding blinds in consequence.
LILAC BECKY - raced wide early. Shifted inwards on the first bend when not sufficiently clear of ACENTO which resulted in LILAC BECKY sustaining a punctured sulky tyre and being retired from the race passing the 1400 metres. Driver J Markham admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly and after viewing the films and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.
BELLE'S BOY - raced wide early.
EASTWOOD ISABELLA - held up for the majority of the run home.
MR PERFECT - lay outwards throughout the run home.
ACENTO - raced wide early. Held up early in the run home.
STEPHS BOY - raced wide early.
TOM MARTIN - raced wide early.
Race 9   OXFORD HANDICAP PACE
MILS MCARDLE - broke at the start losing ground. Over-raced early.
JACK RYAN - broke at the start. Broke again racing into the first bend. A final warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Paced roughly leaving the final bend. Lay outwards throughout the run home. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when in a break on two occasions in the early stages.
CLOUDY BAY - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation and not broken in excess of 150 metres in the early stages.
SAM'S TOWN - broke at the start losing ground.
ARDEN'S REALITY - over-raced early.
SHE'S TOUGH- over-raced early.
Race 10   CUST TROT
TRIXTON TIME - pre-race warmed.
PRINCE RANIER - trotted roughly through the early stages losing ground. When questioned regarding the performance driver T Williams was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up in the coming days.
SMUDGEE - held up early in the run home.
GLOBAL FLIGHT - held up early in the run home.
SIOUX PRINCESS - raced wide from the 750 metres. Driver S Ottley reported the removable deafeners were not activated due to having the field covered.
RED HARBOUR - broke briefly at the start.
Trainer G Telfer advised Stewards on 2 March that PRINCE RANIER has had its hocks treated since last racing.
Race 11   RACING NEXT AT RANGIORA 3 APRIL MOBILE PACE
MICK BETH - weakened final bend.
KENNEDY - raced fiercely early stages when being restrained to take cover. Weakened final bend.
TWICE SHY - raced wide early stages.
GRONKOWSKI - Stewards will speak with driver G Smith in the coming days regarding his position at the start.
