Race 1   CHARLES WIFFEN WINES & MT BEAUTIFUL WINES TROT
RAINING IN MY HEART - began awkwardly. Trotted roughly near the 350 metres.
MEGHAN - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
THE BEAT - broke at the start losing all chance.
EMPRESS OF THE SUN - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Briefly hampered shortly after the start. Broke racing into the first bend losing considerable ground. Broke again near the 450 metres. Driver K Newman was reminded of his obligations to start wider on the track when drawn unruly.
LOOKSLIKEATRIXTER - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
SEE IT THRU - trainer K Hadfield was issued a warning for presenting the gelding without the notified sliding blinds. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 400 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Trainer/driver K Hadfield advised he would be having blood tests taken and Stewards will follow up the results.
Trainer K Hadfield advised Stewards on 16 February that SEE IT THRU has been treated for a virus.
Race 2   RURAL LIVESTOCK MOBILE PACE
HEY TONIGHT - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A final warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
ATOMIC TRAVELLER - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Broke again approaching the 400 metres and shifted out abruptly making heavy contact with ELOEL. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
WEBS REACTOR - held up final bend and for the majority of the run home.
ELOEL - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver M Hurrell. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Over-raced middle stages. Checked by a breaking runner near the 400 metres.
Race 3   JACKIE ORR MEMORIAL (JUNIOR DRIVERS) PACE
GYPSY - broke at the start losing ground. Over-raced middle stages. Hampered near the 900 metres. Weakened final bend.
PIECE OF GOLD - weakened near the 900 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
RUBY'S A DELIGHT - broke at the start losing ground. Weakened final bend.
ULTIMATE BIRD - over-raced middle stages when hanging outwards.
MCCRIKEY - over-raced middle stages.
SOMEDREAMSOMEWHERE - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
COME TOGETHER - driver K Newman was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
WATCHING OUR COIN - fractious prior to the start. Broke at the start losing ground. Weakened final bend.

JOURNO - checked at the start and broke unbalancing driver D van Til.

Race 4   LOT 382: 1/2 BROTHER TO 'RAGAZZO MACH' MOBILE PACE
SHEZA MANIPULATOR - back slightly at the start despite the efforts of driver M Edmonds.
SMART SHADOW - trainer J Simpson advised that the mare has had its hocks and joints injected since last racing. Mr Simpson was warned for being late to present the mare on course. Back slightly at the start despite the efforts of driver J Cox. Broke near the 700 metres losing all chance.
SEAPRIS - over-raced middle stages. Weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Hope advised the mare had to work too hard in its first up run and would derive benefit from the race.
CHRISLYNN - back slightly at the start despite the efforts of driver B Orange.
DE LA RENTA - back slightly at the start despite the efforts of driver S Ottley. Paced roughly after 150 metres and had to be steadied. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Ottley advised the mare had raced too keenly behind the mobile and had got too far back in the running in its first up run and would derive benefit from the race.
Race 5   G H BUILDERS LTD HANDICAP TROT
JAKARTA - weakened final bend.
ANDOVERLOV - weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver G O'Reilly advised the gelding had to work too hard and had not been suited by having to race parked through the middle stages.
SHOW ME THE GRAY - trainer J Howe advised Stewards that the gelding has had its knees injected since last racing.
Race 6   GLEN McNABB EARTHMOVING & ENGINEERING MOBILE PACE
REGGIE GOLIGHTLY - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Over-raced middle stages. Hung inwards final bend striking several track markers.
ROCKIN VA VA - weakened near the 400 metres. When questioned regarding the performance driver T Williams advised the gelding had been unsuited to racing parked.
SONIC REIGN - when questioned regarding the improved performance the connections advised the gelding had appreciated a more economical run when being able to lead and set its own terms in front.
Race 7   CHEVIOT BUSINESSES CHEVIOT CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
Stewards withheld authorisation of placings until they were satisfied that no runners on the 10 metres handicap had been materially affected as a result of MANJIMUP contacting the barrier strand.
MANJIMUP - reared and refused to go away as the start was effected contacting the 10 metres barrier strand. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
DECEPTIVE LEE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 800 metres. Again hampered on the final bend.
JACK RYAN - broke near the 1000 metres hampering trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Over-raced from the 800 metres. Paced roughly rounding the final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
BUCKSKIN - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1000 metres. Lay inwards when driver S O'Reilly activated removable gear near the 250 metres placing an inside runner in restricted room.
GOT YOU COVERED - hampered by a breaking runner near the 900 metres.
LULU LE MANS - hampered by a breaking runner near the 900 metres. Had to be steadied near the 700 metres when awkwardly placed to the inside of GOT YOU COVERED when both runners shifted ground inwards simultaneously. Placed in restricted room near the 250 metres when BUCKSKIN lay inwards.
TEAGAN BANNER - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1000 metres.
HOMEBUSH LAD - over-raced middle stages. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 800 metres.
DASHING MAJOR - inconvenienced at the start. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 900 metres.
CHAL PATCH - hampered by a breaking runner near the 900 metres.
ABOVE N BEYOND - hampered after the start by a breaking runner.
KISS THE GIRLS - Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule near the 1400 metres when KISS THE GIRLS raced four wide for a distance. After viewing the films it was confirmed that ABOVE N BEYOND had commenced its shift outwards prior to KISS THE GIRLS reaching its sulky wheel and no further action was required. Over-raced for a distance passing the 900 metres. Weakened final bend.
Race 8   CHEVIOT LICENCING TRUST HANDICAP TROT
ILLEGAL ALIEN - trainer K James was warned for not having mudguards affixed to his sulky. Driver K Cameron advised he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
GLOBAL FLIGHT - driver R Jenkins was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
THE LAST GAMBLE - raced wide early. Weakened near the 700 metres.
SIOUX PRINCESS - broke after 100 metres losing all chance. A final warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
BRIGHT GLOW - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer/driver I Cameron advised the mare had thrived on a busy racing programme recently and had been suited by the slower tempo of today's race.
RED HARBOUR - broke at the start losing all chance.
MUSCLE BANK - slow in the early stages. Broke near the 2000 metres losing all chance.
Race 9   CHEVIOT CONCRETE & AMURI READY MIX MOBILE PACE
THE OPTIMIST - broke shortly after the start. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts. Over-raced middle stages. Weakened leaving the final bend.
BETTER FLY - over-raced middle stages.
MAID OF MONEY - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
WINEGUM - over-raced middle stages.
SAINT WAITAKI - over-raced middle stages.
ELO LOUISE - held up late in the run home.
ITZ TO THE MACS - weakened final bend.
ZUSAK - weakened early in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange advised he was disappointed with the effort and was unable to provide any explanation.
Trainer M Jones advised Stewards on 14 February that blood tests taken from ITZ TO THE MACS following its disappointing performance have revealed several irregularities and will be treated prior to resuming.
Race 10   'DOWNBYTHESEASIDE' - WOODLANDS STUD MOBILE PACE
MAYBE - weakened near the 500 metres. When questioned regarding the performance driver K Butt advised in her opinion the gelding had failed to back up from its performance at Oamaru on Wednesday 9 February. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. The connections advised they will have blood tests taken in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
AARDIE'S EXPRESS - lay outwards after the start briefly hampering outside runner. Broke when leading near the 900 metres losing ground. Lay inwards and paced roughly on the final bend and struck track markers. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the filly had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation. Driver T Williams reported he would be recommending gear changes prior to the filly's next start.
DALNESS FIRST - hampered briefly after the start.
HEAVEN ON HIGH - raced wide without cover from the 1250 metres. Weakened final bend.
SHARDS FURY - held up final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
Trainer J Cox advised Stewards on 17 March that blood tests taken from MAYBE showed the horse to be suffering from a mild virus which has been treated with the horse continuing with its current preparation.
