Race 1   BILL KEAST MEMORIAL TROT
The start was delayed due to GEORGE THE FIRST rearing as the field addressed the barrier with the gelding getting the sulky shaft over its back.
CHEEKY MONKEY - broke passing the 300 metres.
GEORGE THE FIRST - fractious prior to the start causing a delay after getting the sulky shaft over its back. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Broke racing into the first bend. Broke again passing the 1800 metres.
SON OF MAJESTIC - broke at the start. Lay inwards passing the 900 metres striking several track markers.
PHOEBE AMORE - weakened from the 700 metres.
HOT SAUCY BETTY - broke when leading near the 150 metres and shifted outwards abruptly. Stewards lodged a Protest against 4th placing being awarded alleging the mare had broken in excess of 50 metres in the final 200 metres. After viewing replays and hearing from the Stewards and driver K Barclay the Adjudicative Committee upheld the Protest and disqualified HOT SAUCY BETTY from 4th placing.
NIGHT WATCH - hampered by a breaking runner approaching the 100 metres.
FATHER ON DOWN - weakened on the final bend.
Race 2   CARRIERS ARMS HOTEL MOBILE PACE
DURRANT - weakened on the final bend.
NETHERTON FRANCO - paced roughly rounding the first bend and had to be steadied. Weakened from the 600 metres.
CHEZZ DALE - junior driver T Larsen (assisted by K Larsen) admitted a charge that he used his whip in an excessive and continuous manner throughout the run home. After viewing replays and considering penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $500.
PHIL'S LAST CHANCE - held up through the early and middle stages of the run home.
SHERWOOD MAGGIE - over-raced when being restrained in the early stages. Paced roughly through the middle stages.
THREETIMESBETTER - raced wide rounding the first bend.
Race 3   INVERCARGILL LICENSING TRUST MOBILE PACE
SONNY MAGUIRE - lay inwards on the final bend contacting track markers. Driver B Williamson was warned for allowing his runner to shift into the passing lane in the run home.
THE JAFA EXPRESS - placed in restricted room near the 600 metres. Hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final bend.
HENRY MAGUIRE - raced wide with cover from the 1300 metres then without cover from the 1000 metres. Raced greenly near the 900 metres. Weakened from the 300 metres. Driver P Hunter was warned for allowing his horse to shift inwards near the 600 metres crowding an inside runner.
BENJI - out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 4   DRAKE PLUMBING & DRAINLAYING FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
PRINCESS POPSICLE - held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
PRIDES CONTESSA - broke racing into the first bend hampering a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until the Stewards were satisfied the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when breaking on the first bend.
SIMPLY DELIGHTFULL - held up throughout the run home with driver S Tomlinson reporting she did not release the removable deafeners as a consequence.
CELTIC ABBEY - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
TASHS BAD GIRL - a hopple side carrier strap came adrift near the 1900 metres resulting in the mare breaking and being pulled up. Trainer A Kyle was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to affix gear so as not to come adrift.
FOXY ROBYN - broke in the score-up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
DIDSHEDOIT - checked and broke near the 1900 metres losing all chance.
Race 5   TODD & CO REALTY MOBILE PACE
EMMA STONE - over-raced through the middle stages. Held up by a weakening runner on the final bend.
NYLA - held up early in the run home.
JABALI - over-raced early when being restrained to obtain cover.
KAGEE VC - raced wide early and was restrained to the rear of the field. Held up by a weakening runner on the final bend. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have some lameness in the left front leg. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
ATARAH - over-raced early when being restrained to obtain cover. Had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room early in the run home.
BETTER GALLEON - weakened on the final bend hampering trailing runners.
PHONE TAP - raced four-wide from the 600 metres.
Race 6   NEVILLE CLEAVER FISHING APARIMA HANDICAP TROT
RUBY SEDDON - trotted roughly throughout the run home and was unable to be fully driven out by driver C Ferguson. When questioned regarding the tactics he adopted on the final bend when electing not to utilise the Passing Lane Mr Ferguson advised the mare has a history of running out on the bends and in the run home and for this reason he elected to shift ground outwards when an opportunity presented itself leaving the final bend.
ROGIE FALLS - late scratching on Veterinary advice at 2.00pm.
ANDIAMO - broke at the start losing all chance.
DONALD TRUMP - broke near the 1800 metres losing all chance and was retired from the race.
SHEZA GIFT - broke passing the 600 metres losing ground. Broke again over the concluding stages.
Race 7   MACCA LODGE MOBILE PACE
ROBYNS SHADOW - held up on the final bend.
FRANCO HUNTINGTON - raced wide early until reaching the parked position near the 1400 metres. Paced roughly near the 500 metres.
ARNIES ARMY - raced four-wide from the 600 metres.
CHANGEAROUND - over-raced early when being restrained to obtain cover.
BETTASTAR - over-raced passing the 1500 metres when being restrained to obtain cover.
CALICO HILL - junior driver T Dewe was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight.
MR MCLAREN - raced four-wide from the 600 metres.
Race 8   DT KINGS TRANSPORT RIVERTON CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
I'M TROUBLE - tangled away.
PORT AU PRINCE - tangled away. Weakened on the final bend.
KEEP ON DREAMING - raced greenly near the 2200 metres and shifted up the track. Weakened from the 800 metres. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
MEMPHIS TENNESSEE - tangled away. Weakened on the final bend.
Race 9   RYDER ROOFING MOBILE PACE
SMOKIN ANNIE - had the sulky wheel contacted racing into the first bend and was retired from the race near the 1800 metres after the tyre came off the rim.
ART COURAGE - over-raced in the score-up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Continued to over-race through the early stages and made contact with the sulky wheel of SMOKIN ANNIE racing into the first bend despite the efforts of junior driver S O'Reilly. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. When asked to comment on the perceived improved performance stable representative T Dewe advised that the mare had been working well in the lead up and appreciated the drop in class of opposition today,
WHATA RAZZLE DAZZLE - shifted up the track in the run home when under pressure. Junior driver M Hurrell was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
BLACK OPS - over-raced in the middle stages.
QUADDIE VC - paced roughly in the score-up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Connections advised they would be making gear changes prior to the gelding racing next.
Race 10   E H BALL ITM MOBILE PACE
ZACH LOWE - hung inwards and struck track markers when weakening on the final bend.
DARK RAGE - broke in the score-up losing all chance. Stood down to trial from a mobile to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
JOYFULDOLLY - hung inwards when improving forward near the 1200 metres. Placed in restricted room by ARLO MAGUIRE early in the run home and made contact with its sulky wheel.
ARLO MAGUIRE - lay inwards early in the home straight placing an inside runner in restricted room which made contact with the sulky wheel of the gelding resulting in the tyre deflating.
THE COBBLER - Trainer M House (T Dewe as agent) was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for presenting this gelding without the notified blinds.
