WESTLAND PEAK - over-raced in the middle stages. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages. Driver B Orange reported he did not release the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
THE POWER BROKER - pre-race warmed. Briefly hampered by a breaking runner near the 750 metres. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
MILLIE'S GIFT - out of position at the start. A final warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. When spoken to regarding being back at the start trainer/driver N Williamson advised he was being extra cautious due to a number of runners trotting roughly in the score-up and he was reluctant to apply any pressure to the mare in the early stages as he felt there was a likelihood the horse would break.

ROCK MY MIND - broke in the score-up and was out of position at the start losing considerable ground. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts. Held up leaving the final bend and throughout the run home.

Continued to pace roughly through the early stages before being retired from the race. When questioned regarding this trainer/driver J Douglas advised he had recently changed the bit in an effort to get the gelding to relax in its preliminary and while this change had been successful in training THE OTHER BROTHER had resented the different bit today and he would be considering resorting back to the original gear prior to racing next.
LYNRYD SKYNRYD - raced without hind shoes after losing one in the preliminary and the other being removed prior to the start. Over-raced when leading through the middle stages. Returned to the birdcage enclosure with blood present in both nostrils and following a post-race Veterinary examination was confirmed to have bled. BLACK OPS - driver R McIlwrick was issued with a warning for crossing his reins late in the run home when performing a celebratory gesture. When asked to comment on the improved performance trainer J Douglas advised the gelding had been working well in the short period of time it has been at his stable and had responded well to the removal of blinds from its gear which appears to have the horse more relaxed.
