Race 1   FRANKS MOTORCYCLES & 4 SPARES MOBILE PACE
MACH O'MELLEY - underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination after sustaining a minor abrasion to its near front fetlock in the float when being transported to the course and was cleared to race. Weakened on the final bend.
BONNIE PRINCE LOUIS - paced roughly shortly after the start. Weakened on the final bend.
FRANCO HUNTINGTON - when questioned regarding the improved performance driver J Morrison advised the gelding had appreciated a drop in class from recent racing.
EMMA STONE - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer/driver P Hunter advised the mare had drawn benefit from the drop in class from recent racing.
IDEAL ASSET - weakened leaving the final bend.
FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ - held up by a weakening runner on the final bend and early in the run home. Driver D O'Connell reported he was unable to release the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
Starter B Ward was spoken to regarding the speed of the mobile in the score-up after several runners were back from their barrier position at the start.
Race 2   BEACH ROAD HOLIDAY PARK / PHILLIPS HORSE TRANSPORT TROT
ACTION PACKED - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Weakened from the 900 metres.
DONALD TRUMP - slow to begin.
MIXED FAITH - lay inwards on various occasions during the running particularly rounding the bends. Broke in the run home and continued on in a break over the finish line. A Protest was lodged against 3rd placing being awarded alleging this filly had broken in excess of 50 metres in the final 200 metres. Connections did not contest the Protest and MIXED FAITH was disqualified by the Adjudicative Committee.
SON OF MAJESTIC - hampered and broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Lay inwards rounding the first bend striking and dislodging a track marker. Weakened from the 900 metres.
TEASE MY TARTAN - weakened from the 500 metres.
REGAL GLIDE - slow to begin. Lay inwards and trotted roughly through the middle stages. Weakened from the 1000 metres. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
BIRCH - connections advised this mare would be racing in season. Weakened from the 600 metres.
JOEDIUM - trotted roughly in the middle stages. Broke near the 200 metres.
Race 3   FRED'S FENCING FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
MATAI CHARLOTTE - when questioned regarding the improved performance connections advised the mare had been working well in preparation for today's race and had drawn benefit from an inside draw.
PHIL'S LAST CHANCE - held up on the final bend.
GEORGIA AVEROSS - weakened on the final bend. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with trainer A Hoffman in the coming days.
LA MOTH - raced wide throughout.
REBECCA DALE - raced wide early.
SANTERIA - held up on the final bend and early in the run home.
EMMA'S GIRL - held up throughout the run home with driver S Ottley reporting she did not release the removable deafeners as a consequence.
TIGERS WATCHING - broke briefly early in the score-up.
Race 4   REGENT CAR COURT MOBILE PACE
I'M WATCHING YOU - held up rounding the final bend and until late in the run home.
ARLO MAGUIRE - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer B Norman advised the gelding has had a change of training regime, been working well in preparation for today's race and has performed best previously when able to lead.
CARRERA BELLE - weakened leaving the final bend.
FIREFOREFIDDLE - held up on the final bend by a weakening runner.
JABALI - raced wide early.
THE NIGHT WATCHMAN - weakened from the 500 metres. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver K Barclay could offer no tangible explanation. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding with Mrs Barclay in the coming days.
KAGEE VC - weakened on the final bend hampering a trailing runner. Driver J Morrison reported he was unable to activate the sliding blinds due to the cord breaking. The gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
Race 5   ICON INTERIOR CONSTRUCTION MOBILE PACE
JOVIAL JAY - hung inwards throughout the run home when leading.
HES SANTAS EXCUSE - held up on the final bend.
STILL ROCKIN - raced wide early. Lay inwards on the final bend when weakening. Checked and broke near the 250 metres before falling to the track while in a break near the 150 metres dislodging driver K Barclay from the sulky. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have suffered superficial abrasions. Mrs Barclay was examined by the St John Ambulance Paramedics and cleared to fulfill her remaining driving engagements.
RAKAJED - raced wide without cover from the 1200 metres.
TIMZEE - broke racing into the first bend losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
SWEET AND SOUR - over-raced in the middle stages. Shifted outwards abruptly passing the 250 metres resulting in its outside sulky wheel contacting the hind leg of STILL ROCKIN which was checked and broke. Junior driver K Tomlinson (assisted by M Williamson) admitted a charge that she drove carelessly at this stage of the race. After hearing penalty submissions, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Miss Tomlinson's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 30 January 2022 up to and including 6 February 2022 (3 days).
DONALD TROT - held up on the final bend and early in the run home.
YOUNG GEORGE - driver S Tomlinson reported she was unable to release the removable deafeners due to the cord breaking.
ROCK MY MIND - broke in the score-up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
Race 6   ONE OVER LODGE SALE LOT 177/187/201/291 HANDICAP TROT
There was a delay to the start of this race due to remedial work being required on an area of the track near the 150 metres.
EXPENSIVE CRUMPET - lay inwards on various occasions during the running.
TOP POCKET CHANCE - hampered by an inside runner after 100 metres and broke losing all chance. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer C Buchan.
FAST WHISPERING - held up throughout the run home with driver S Ottley reporting she did not release the removable deafeners as a consequence.
MISS JESSICA - weakened on the final bend.
PORT PEGASUS - weakened in the run home.
INSIST THE WIN - broke racing into the first bend losing considerable ground.
DEM BONES DEM BONES - broke after 150 metres losing considerable ground. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer B Gray.
AFTERBURNER - held up for clear racing room in the run home. Became awkwardly placed behind the weakening PORT PEGASUS near the 100 metres and shifted outwards making contact with the sulky wheel of ANDIAMO despite the efforts of driver N Williamson resulting in the horse breaking briefly. Driver N Williamson reported he had difficulty steering the gelding throughout the run home.
ANDIAMO - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home. Driver K Larsen reported he had sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
MAJESTIC ROLLON - broke rounding the first bend losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
JASMINE JACCKA - broke near the 1000 metres losing all chance.
Race 7   GRAEME ANDERSON RACING STABLES FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
JAFFIE J - over-raced in the middle stages. A clip on the two minute breast plate detached late in the run home.
BETTER GALLEON - raced wide early.
MIDNITETRAINTOGEORGA - over-raced in the early stages when racing wide on the track.
Race 8   PUKERAU ENGINEERING MOBILE PACE
PROVISEUR - the required Veterinary clearance was received.
AMERICAN MAC - when questioned regarding the performance junior driver M Hurrell expressed disappointment with the effort of the gelding and could offer no explanation.
ROBYNS SHADOW - over-raced early when being restrained to the rear of the field.
TRINITY STAR - underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination after the mare appeared to be lame during the preliminary and was declared a late scratching at 4.04pm on Veterinary advice. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
TAXMAN - weakened on the final bend.
MELTON MAFIA - held up throughout the run home.
IDEAL ROBYN - paced roughly in the early stages. When questioned regarding the performance driver C Ferguson advised the gelding had made abnormal breathing noises during the running. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Co-trainer R Wilson advised he would be making gear changes prior to the gelding racing next. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
