Race 12 - GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND CAMBRIDGE XMAS CUP HANDICAP PACE
Trainer A Donnelly advised Stewards on 20 January that blood tests taken from TAIPO after its last start revealed the gelding was suffering from a virus and has since been treated.

PRESIDENTS TOPSHOT - Stewards viewed the replays in relation to the manner in which Driver Z Meredith drove in the home straight and were subsequently satisfied that he had flicked his runner on several occasions early in the run home and then again over the final 30m while ensuring that he kept the gelding balanced in its correct gait.

Race 1   BARRETT HOMES TROT
WINNERS TIME - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1750m. Lay inwards in the run home. Driver A Neal was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion in the early stages of the run home.
KRISTOFFERSON - broke at the start losing all chance.
DELLARIO - broke passing the 1750m when leading and settled at the rear of the field. Over-raced middle stages. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record.
PEARLSPUR - Trainer/Driver N Chilcott reported that the sliding blinds were unable to be fully activated due to the cord becoming entangled.
HAKA PRIDE - weakened passing the 300m.
B K MERLOT - broke at the start but soon settled. Raced wide from the 1200m. Stewards investigated a possible breach of the Push Out Rule near the 1200m when B K MERLOT raced wider on the track after HAKA PRIDE had shifted ground outwards. After viewing the replays, it was established that driver A Pyers (HAKA PRIDE) had commenced his outwards movement prior to B K MERLOT covering his sulky wheel. Accordingly no further action was deemed necessary.
MY HOPE - lay in rounding the bends. Raced wide from the 1200m.
MERKEL - Trainer M Enochsson advised that the mare would be racing in season. Broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record.
SIR HENRY CASTLETON - slow over the early stages. Broke passing the 1600m but soon settled.
Race 2   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS MOBILE PACE
FASCINATE - broke passing the 1850m checking trailing runners and was retired from the race after sustaining a punctured sulky tyre in this incident. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
LIEUTENANT ARDEN - when questioned regarding the performance Trainer/Driver J Stormont reported that he was not disappointed with the gelding's effort. He further explained that he elected to shift out off HELLOFASPORTSTAR's back near the 700m as his gelding had commenced to over-race and felt it was in the horse's best interest given its prior performances when breaking.
ARTFUL LIVING - held up for the majority of the run home.
DESTINY'S CHILD - paced roughly at the start. Raced wide in the early stages. Again paced roughly when utilising the passing lane in the run home.
HELLOFASPORTSTAR - Driver S Abernethy was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion in the run home.
LIFES A CABARET - briefly locked wheels with WHIZ ON BYE near the 1750m.
NEMO BANDEIRA - momentarily inconvenienced when there was an easing of the pace near the 750m.
WHIZ ON BYE - checked by a breaking runner passing the 1850m and broke losing ground. Briefly locked wheels with LIFES A CABARET near the 1750m after being hampered.
MAJOR GRACE - Stewards approved a late gear change for the filly to race with blinds rather than the notified sliding blinds. Checked by a breaking runner passing the 1850m losing ground before settling.
CAULFIELD - lay in passing the 1100m when improving forward to the parked position. Continued to lay in rounding the bends.
Race 3   REVELL DOUGLAS MEMORIAL JUNIOR DRIVER SERIES MOBILE PACE
SUPERSEDE - paced roughly as the start was effected and had to be steadied. Paced roughly again leaving the final bend when attempting to shift inwards to utilise the passing lane and had to be steadied. Continued to pace roughly in the run home before being held up inside the final 50m. Driver T Bamford reported the gelding had locked on the inside rein causing him difficulty.
CHRIS KYLE - late scratching at 9.32am on Veterinary advice.
THE SPORTSMAN - raced keenly passing the 500m.
SUNSET RED - held up throughout the run home. Driver W House advised that due to this he did not activate the removable deafeners on the mare.
SUSIE REIGNMAKER - over-raced middle stages.
WILD CARD - weakened passing the 300m after racing in the parked position. A post-race veterinary examination revealed some nasal discharge from the gelding. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the horse in the coming days.
Race 4   CAMBRIDGE HOMES MOBILE PACE
BET ON THE TIGER - lay out in the straights when leading.
CONSTANCE CLAIRE - over-raced middle stages and in particular passing the 400m.
BETTERTHANDIVA - paced roughly passing the 75m when laying inwards and had to be steadied.
LETSGODANCING - hung inwards when shifting wider on the track near the 150m.
CARSE O FERN CULLY - lay in near the 400m.
Race 5   BETAVET. CAMBRIDGE PACERS GOLD CUP HEAT 2 MOBILE PACE
GREATEST SHOWMAN - Driver S Doody was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion early in the run home.
BROOKIES JAFFA - held up early in the run home.
ROUGH AND READY - the inside number detached from the saddle passing the 300m and hung loose.
WAITFOREVER - held up early in the run home.
ACE STRIKE - held up early in the run home.
Race 6   IKE UNSWORTH BAYLEYS. CAMB TROTTERS GOLD CUP H2 HCP TROT
LEXI T - held up by a weakening runner final bend.
ALANA - reared prior to the start being effected and then broke losing its chance. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record.
THANK YOU - broke passing the 850m losing ground. Trotted roughly final bend.
BREAK FREE - weakened final bend.
DELSON - weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver D Ferguson reported the gelding had to work hard from its 55m handicap due to the strong tempo throughout with the effort taking its toll.
Race 7   PROTEAM BOP PAINTERS 2021 LTD MOBILE PACE
TASMAN TEMPEST - raced keenly middle stages. Weakened in the run home.
WE HAVE A MACH TWO - held for clear racing room throughout the run home.
Race 8   BARRETT HOMES MOBILE PACE
HEZASHADOWPLAYA - over-raced at various stages throughout.
LADY LA SALLE - ran wide passing the 400m despite the efforts of Driver J Crawford. A final warning was placed on the filly's racing record.
WHERES THE GOLD - weakened leaving the final bend.
AIMING FOR GLORY - when questioned regarding the performance Driver B Butcher reported that the mid-race effort to reach the parked position had taken its toll on the filly.
SHEZSOMETHINSPECIAL - Trainer R Dickson advised that the mare would be racing in foal. Lost ground with the body of the field in the middle stages despite the efforts of Driver A Harrison.
Race 9   AGROWQUIP MOBILE PACE
CRIMSON RAIN - over-raced middle stages. Compounded passing the 500m and was retired from the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the mare.
ALEXIS ROCKET - raced keenly in the score up. Over-raced middle stages
BERANI - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the entire's barrier record. Broke again passing the 800m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
MELODY'S MISCHIEF - held up early stages of the run home.
HEZA PLAYER - briefly locked wheels with LILLIBURLERO passing the 600m when the gelding shifted wider on the track. Driver J Robinson was issued with a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion in the run home.
LILLIBURLERO - briefly locked wheels with HEZA PLAYER passing the 600m when that runner shifted wider on the track. Paced roughly final bend. Driver K Marshall was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion in the run home.
GREENBACK BOOGIE - held up early in the run home.
MAYA ANGELOU - held up throughout the run home.
Race 10   BLACK DOG FURNITURE TROT
RUN FOREST RUN - broke at the start losing all chance. The gelding was placed on the Unruly for future standing starts at the Trainers request.
PRESIDENTS TOPSHOT - hung in rounding the final bend and throughout the run home. Broke passing the 70m and continued on in a break over the finish line. A protest was lodged against the gelding's 4th placing which was not contested by the connections with the horse being disqualified by the Adjudicative Committee after breaking more than 50m in the final 200m of the race.
SONSOFTHEMERCH - broke at the start but soon settled. Broke again rounding the first bend and again on several other occasions. A final warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
CHELSEA HOTEL - trotted roughly passing the 900m and had to be steadied. Broke near the 400m losing its chance. Authorisation of the promoted 4th placing was withheld until Stewards viewed the replays and were unable to determine whether the filly had been in breach of the Breaking Horses Regulation due to a lack of video evidence.
SLY PUNTER - lay in rounding the bends.
