Race 1   SUZANNE BELL MEMORIAL TROT
OUR COUNTDOWN - broke at the start. Trotted roughly in the run home and was unable to be fully driven out. Driver B Williamson reported the filly had over-raced on various occasions during the running.
MEGHAN - broke near the 200 metres.
TONY MAC - raced greenly when leading through the middle stages. Hung outwards rounding the final bend and in the run home.
SPEEDING SPIRIT - broke racing into the first bend. Broke again near the 250 metres. Stood down to trial on one occasion to the Stewards satisfaction prior to resuming. Trainer R Wilson advised he would be adding half hopples to the gelding for future starts.
CHEEKY MONKEY - briefly hampered after 150 metres and broke in consequence. Broke again near the 1800 metres losing all chance.
DONALD TRUMP - forced wider on the track by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Raced wider on the track near the 1700 metres when VERTIGO shifted outwards. Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule at this stage of the race, however after viewing replays it was established that VERTIGO had commenced to shift outwards prior to DONALD TRUMP reaching its sulky wheel with no further action required. Trotted roughly in the run home and was unable to be fully driven out.
CAEN - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
COOL PHELAN - forced wider on the track by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
RUTHLESS LIZZIE - broke in the early stages losing all chance.
SHEZA MIGHTY MONARCH - broke at the start losing ground.
THE LAWMAN - trotted roughly in the early stages and got back as a result. Broke near the 1800 metres losing all chance.
Race 2   HOKONUI HONDA/GOODMAN PLUMBING MOBILE PACE
YOU CAN FLY ARDEN - hampered by a breaking runner after 200 metres. Driver S Ottley reported a sulky tyre had deflated during the running.
BEAUTIFILLY - broke after 200 metres losing ground.
TIGERS WATCHING - broke after 200 metres hampering trailing runners and losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
TASHS BAD GIRL - connections reported this mare would be racing in season. Driver A Kyle was spoken to advisedly to break up the use of his whip with alternative actions.
SWEET AND SOUR - broke in the score-up losing all chance. Following this race the All Clear was withheld until driver B Williamson had the opportunity to view the films of the start to determine whether this mare had been denied a fair start, alleging it had been hampered by the fractious MARSHMELLOW MILLIE leaving the pre-race formation and broke in consequence. After considering the matter, Stewards sought a ruling from the Adjudicative Committee who after viewing the films determined that SWEET AND SOUR had been denied a fair start and was declared a non-runner.
SANTERIA - hampered after 200 metres.
MARSHMELLOW MILLIE - fractious and reared in the pre-race circle and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
ROCK MY MIND - broke in the score-up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
BROMAC HYPE - hampered and broke after 200 metres losing all chance.
HUNTING WEIGHT - hampered by a breaking runner after 200 metres. Over-raced in the middle stages.
B SMART - hampered by a breaking runner after 200 metres.
Race 3   NEW WORLD/BLACK RABBIT BAR/CROMWELL COLLISION REPAIR TROT
GLOBAL FLIGHT - held up throughout the run home.
PORT PEGASUS - broke late in the run home.
EILISH HALL - broke shortly after the start and continued in a break proving uncontrollable, with driver K Barclay requiring assistance from the crash crew to return the horse to its correct gait. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
DEM BONES DEM BONES - crowded near the 200 metres.
THE LAST GAMBLE - slow to begin losing ground.
MISS BAMBOOCHA - broke rounding the final bend checking a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
DOMINATION'S CALL - lay inwards in the run home crowding an inside runner near the 200 metres.
DANANGUS FELLA - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
ANDIAMO - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. A final warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Checked by a breaking runner near the 350 metres.
Race 4   TOPLINE FENCING/INT GARDEN RESCUE/GOLDEN FLEECE MOB PACE
MIGHTY REACTOR - paced roughly throughout. Cast a near hind racing plate during the running. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have some lameness in the near fore-leg. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
FRANCO NORTON - held up until late in the run home with driver C Thornley reporting he did not release the removable deafeners as a consequence.
THE NIGHT WATCHMAN - broke in the early stages of the score-up however recovered to be in its allocated barrier position at the dispatch.
DARK RAGE - broke in the early stages of the score-up losing all chance. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts.
CAST A SHADOW - held up for the majority of the run home.
Race 5   PUTNEY ROOFING/BH20/CROMWELL SUPPORTERS MOBILE PACE
IDEAL DANCE - paced roughly in the run home.
BOLLINGER - broke after 200 metres losing ground. A final warning was placed on the racing record of the colt.
YOUNG GEORGE - hampered by a breaking runner after 200 metres. Held up late in the run home.
GEORGIA AVEROSS - broke in the score-up and shifted in checking inside runners, resulting in a false start being declared. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Driver B Orange elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the restart. Hampered by a breaking runner after 200 metres.
THE JAFA EXPRESS - hampered by a breaking runner after 200 metres.
Race 6   SANGSTER ELECTRICAL/WOODLANDS MOTORS/SPEIGHTS MOB PACE
BIZZIE LOU - raced wide in the early stages. Held up on the final bend.
SPICY GIRL BECQUI - over-raced in the middle stages.
RIDE IN A CONCORDE - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1000 metres. Weakened on the final bend.
KOWHAI SHADOW - underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination after sustaining a minor injury at its previous start and was cleared to start. Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
NIKKI NOTO - raced wide without cover from the 650 metres.
Race 7   HYGAIN REVELL DOUGLAS MEMORIAL JNR DRIVER SERIES (MOB PACE)
SASSY'S VC - broke in the score-up checking a trailing runner, resulting in a false start being declared. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Junior driver D Anderson elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the re-start. Broke in the score-up of the re-start hampering a trailing runner. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
ARNIES ARMY - when asked to comment on the performance junior driver D van Til advised the gelding had paced roughly during the race and she would be recommending gear changes prior to ARNIES ARMY racing next.
ZACH LOWE - hampered in the score-up and was out of position at the start, losing considerable ground. Following the race the All Clear was withheld until the Stewards had the opportunity to view the films of the start to determine whether this gelding had been denied a fair start when being hampered in the score-up. After viewing replays and speaking with junior driver T Dewe, Stewards were satisfied ZACH LOWE had been denied a fair start and declared the gelding a non-runner.
Race 8   CROMWELL NIGHT 'N DAY & BUSINESSESS CUP MOBILE PACE
SWEET ANNIE - driver C Ferguson was warned for being late to arrive at the start area. Attempted to jump a mark on the track and broke late in the run home and continued in a break over the finish line. Stewards lodged a Protest against 3rd placing being awarded alleging the gelding was lapped on by 4th placed HARRISON and 5th placed GLASSY WEBB. Connections did not contest the Protest and the Adjudicative Committee relegated SWEET ANNIE to 5th placing.
I'MALLABOUTTHEBASE - driver S Ottley was warned for being late to arrive at the start area.
DOCTOR TIM - out of position at the candy pole and start. Junior driver S O'Reilly was issued with a warning. Raced wide without cover from the 1200 metres.
Race 9   ON POINT NZ/SOUTHERN LAKES ITM/RIVER ROCK ESTATE TROT
MAUI - broke at the start losing ground.
JAKARTA - broke at the start losing all chance and being retired from the race.
RUBY SEDDON - broke passing the 70 metres and continued in a break across the finish line. Stewards lodged a Protest against 4th placing being awarded alleging the mare had broken in excess of 50 metres inside the final 200 metres. Connections did not contest the Protest and the Adjudicative Committee disqualified RUBY SEDDON.
HARRY H - broke at the start losing all chance.
TOP POCKET CHANCE - broke after 200 metres losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
LAURIES LEGACY - driver B Williamson reported the mare had lay inwards throughout the run home and was unable to be fully driven out.
ALLABOUTTHEMOMENT - weakened on the final bend.
Race 10   GOLDEN VIEW/PGG WRIGHTSON REAL ESTATE CROMWELL CUP HCP PACE
ARTATAC - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
MACH'S BACK - broke briefly at the start. Lay inwards entering the home straight.
PACE N PRIDE - broke briefly at the start. Shifted down the track in the home straight. Driver J Cox was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
WARLOCH - broke briefly at the start.
Race 11   CROMTRANS/NORTHERN STHLD TRANSPORT/ALLWASTE HCP TROT
CLYDE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 500 metres.
GET LUCKY - briefly raced wider on the track near the 1800 metres when CLYDE shifted outwards. Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule at this stage of the race however after viewing replays it was established that CLYDE had commenced to shift outwards prior to GET LUCKY reaching its sulky wheel with no further action required.
REGAL ATTIRE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 500 metres.
SPRINGBANK MASON - driver B Williamson was warned for the manner he shifted ground when crowding an inside runner near the 1700 metres. Broke near the 500 metres hampering trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
THE DOMINATOR - crowded by an outside runner near the 1700 metres.
CHINESE WHISPER - broke briefly at the start.
AMERICAN PRIDE - raced wide without cover from the 700 metres. Weakened leaving the final bend. When asked to comment on the performance driver J Cox advised the gelding had made abnormal breathing noises during the running. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality. Notwithstanding this the on course Veterinarian recommended that further tests be conducted in the coming days. Connections were advised AMERICAN PRIDE was stood down pending a Veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
Race 12   BAYLEYS CROMWELL/O'CALLAGHAN & WALKER/R TODD RACING MOB PACE
AIRWAVES - broke in the score-up checking a trailing runner, resulting in a false start being declared. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver R McIlwrick elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the re-start. Shifted up the track throughout the run home when under pressure. Driver R McIlwrick was warned to ensure he maintains a straight course in the run home.
HURRICANE BANNER - when asked to comment on the improved performance connections advised the gelding had trained on well since the below par performance at its last start and that combined with some minor gear alterations had them expecting a forward showing today on the gelding's preferred grass racing surface.
