Race 5 - OSBORNE GROUP CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS MOBILE PACE
Junior Driver N Delany (SMOKINHOTCHEDDAR), assisted by J Abernethy, admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip excessively and with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight. After considering penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $400.

Race 1   KAPITI HARNESS MEMBERS & SUPPORTERS MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared at the first attempt when Driver M Johnson was tipped from the sulky of BLAZE MAGUIRE early in the score up. Mr Johnson was uninjured in this incident.
FASCINATE - broke racing off the crossing near the 1650 metres hampering trailing runners.
LECONTE - hampered by a breaking runner passing the 1650 metres.
PENNYS FIRST FLIGHT - broke near the 1600 metres and then raced three wide until the 1100 metres.
NICKY JAY - raced wide early stages and then again from the 1000 metres.
AURELIA COTTA - hampered by a breaking runner passing the 1650 metres.
MANNY - held up early stages of the run home.
Race 2   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS at FARMLANDS MOBILE PACE
GLEN ELGIN STARA - Driver J Abernethy reported that the mare was sluggish late in the score up. Gave ground final stages.
LAVISH ART - hampered briefly near the 1500 metres when forced wider after HELLOFASPORTSTAR shifted ground outwards.
ROCKNROYDON - broke at the start and was taken to the outside of the track where the mare then fell after kicking out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Subsequently stood down to complete one satisfactory trial.
MURIWAI MAGIC - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record. Broke passing the 250 metres.
LETSGODANCING - lay out over the concluding stages.
CONSTANCE CLAIRE - broke late in the score up and trailed the field throughout. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier record.
HELLOFASPORTSTAR - briefly hampered shortly after the start. Raced fiercely rounding the first bend and shifted outwards which briefly hampered an outside runner before improving forward to the lead. Driver S Abernethy advised he had shifted out for safety reasons as he believed his horse was going to choke down had he remained in the trailing position. Shifted out abruptly near the 200 metres and had to be corrected.
SIPOWICZ - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. Commenced to weaken from the 450 metres.
Race 3   KAPITI TEN PIN BOWLING/WINGS INTERNATIONAL MOBILE PACE
BOULTON HOME - raced wide in the early stages. Held up late in the run home.
EL DORADO - approval was given for the gelding's front shoes to be removed prior to the start. Broke briefly after racing over the crossing. Then commenced to over-race before improving wide without cover from the 1200 metres.
UNCHANGED MEMORY - raced wide in the early stages.
MANHATTAN SUNSHINE - broke in the score up hampering trailing runners and losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record.
MAYA ANGELOU - broke passing the 1500 metres and then commenced to over-race. Broke passing the 300 metres.
HAMPTON - severely hampered in the score-up. After reviewing the film of the start and talking to driver J Crawford Stewards ruled the the gelding had been denied a fair start and scratched the horse under Rule 213(1)(j).
PIIKI WHARA - hampered in the score up and was back from its position as a result. Held up over the concluding stages. After reviewing film of the start and talking to driver A Harrison Stewards ruled the gelding had been denied a fair start and scratched the horse under Rule 213(1)(j).
WAINGARO IDEAL - was a late scratching at 7.32am due to an office error.
Race 4   GRANT PLUMBING WELLINGTON TROTTING CUP (HCP TROT)
HAKA PRIDE - commenced to weaken from the 500 metres.
UNCLE LOUIS - broke briefly at the start. Lay in throughout the home straight.
DORIS RAE - stood on the mark when the barriers were released and then reared losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record.
BREAK FREE - broke briefly leaving the crossing.
THANK YOU - broke passing the 700 metres. Broke again passing the 300 metres.
FULL OF HOPE - raced wide near the 1200 metres after UNIQUE MARSHALL shifted out in to the running line. It was established that Driver M White (UNIQUE MARSHALL) had commenced his outward movement prior to FULL OF HOPE covering his sulky wheel and no further action was deemed necessary.
Race 5   WALLACE CONSTRUCTION MOBILE PACE
BEAUDIENE BRITTANIE - broke in the score up losing all chance and was retired from the event. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record.
PLAY BY EAR - Driver A Harrison advised she did not activate the removable deafeners due to the cord being entangled.
SMOKINHOTCHEDDAR - broke passing the 200 metres.
RAGING WHITEBAIT - broke in the score up but was in position at dispatch.
CHA CHA B - raced wide early.
MAC'S TOMADO - broke passing the 600 metres hampering a trailing runner. Held up through the early and middle stages of the home straight.
CRIMSON RAIN - hampered by a breaking runner near the 400 metres and commenced to weaken shortly thereafter.
WHERES THE GOLD - broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
Race 6   EL CHEAPO CARS OTAKI CUP (MOBILE PACE)
MAHIA - held up late in the run home. As a consequence Driver M Johnson did not activate the removeable deafeners.
IDEAL PRINCE - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
BROOKIES JAFFA - raced wide early. Over-raced when in the parked position during the middle stages.
AMERICAN ME - raced wide early. Stewards will be speaking to driver J Abernethy in the coming days regarding his use of the whip in the home straight.
