Race 1   HOGMANAY TROT
SHOW THE WAY - trotted roughly in the run home and was unable to be fully driven out.
DRAGONS SUNRISE - trainer R Holmes was issued a warning for presenting the mare with removable deafeners which had not been notified.
RAINING IN MY HEART - the connections reported their gelding to have had a wind operation since last racing. Trotted roughly in the early stages and had to be steadied near the 2400 metres. Trotted roughly on the final bend.
KIWI COLT - weakened final bend.
TIGHT N BRIGHT - broke racing into the first bend. Broke again approaching the 600 metres.
TERROR COVE - broke near the 400 metres.
SEE IT THRU - late scratching at 12.20pm on Veterinary advice. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
SASSY STAR - broke near the 250 metres.
Race 2   TAGGART EARTHMOVING MOBILE PACE
MAGICAL MILES - trainer K Fairbairn was issued a warning for presenting the gelding with blinds which had not been notified. Weakened final bend.
HUTASA - hung inwards in the run home.
ART CRACKER - hampered by a breaking runner on the first bend. Again hampered near the 1400 metres.
BARNSTORMER - crowded racing into the first bend by PURE COURAGE and then broke shortly afterwards hampering trailing runners. When questioned regarding this driver M Williamson explained the gelding had reacted poorly to being steadied. Inconvenienced near the 1400 metres.
PHONE TAP - trainer B Negus reported his mare to have had a wind operation since last racing. Broke in the early stages. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Hampered by a breaking runner on the first bend and broke briefly. Weakened final bend.
HELLS ART - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Held up final bend.
PURE COURAGE - shifted inwards racing into the first bend despite the efforts of driver T Williams crowding an inside runner. Over-raced and broke briefly near the 1400 metres. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Mr Williams reported that he would be recommending to trainer K James that the gelding race with a different bit in future to assist with the horse's tractability.
OPAWA LOUIE - hung inwards throughout the run home.
TALIESIN - held up final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
MOSSDALE TERRY - late scratching at 11.30am. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
COSMIC STAR - hampered and broke rounding the first bend. Paced roughly final bend losing ground.
STILL TRYING - hampered by a breaking runner on the first bend.
Race 3   RANGIORA HRC COMMITTEE & STEWARDS PACE
DON'T BRING LULU - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
BUENA VISTA - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Broke passing the 400 metres. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
HE'S A JACKALACK - broke racing into the first bend hampering trailing runners. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record. Held up middle stages of the run home.
HEY TONIGHT - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
PLATINUM PRINCE - broke at the start. Hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
HIT THE BEACH - tangled away. Driver R Alfeld was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
ROCKETMAN - broke racing into the first bend.
CHEEKYGRIN - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
COME TOGETHER - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
DELTA THREE - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
Race 4   NORTH CANTERBURY TROTTING WORKOUTS HANDICAP TROT
TRES MAGNIFIQUE - broke in the early stages losing ground. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
TRIXTON TIME - pre-race warmed.
TAKE AFTER ME - trotted roughly on the final bend when weakening.
MONRIKA - over-raced through the middle stages when leading.
SUNDONS FLYER - briefly hampered by a breaking runner in the early stages. Held up final bend before trotting roughly when attempting to improve wider on the track.
RED HARBOUR - broke racing into the first bend losing ground.
Race 5   NEW WORLD RANGIORA FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
FLORAS DIAMOND DEAL - had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early and middle stages of the run home.
STRAWB'S CLASS ACT - broke in the score up losing all chance. Stewards delayed the all clear until the films could be reviewed of this incident. After doing so Stewards were satisfied the mare had received every opportunity to score up and had done so for approximately 100 metres before galloping and shifting outwards abruptly of its own accord with all placings being authorised. Stood down to complete one satisfactory mobile trial.
EMMA'S DELIGHT - hung outwards and paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Cast a knee boot on the final bend. Driver J Young-Grant advised she anticipated her filly which was having its first start would derive considerable benefit from the experience.
MILLWOOD DIOR - when questioned regarding the filly's performance driver S Ottley explained that the filly which was having its first start, had raced greenly throughout and in her opinion would derive benefit from the race.
SPLASH OF CRIMSON - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
STRAIGHT FLUSH - lay inwards on the final bend and struck track markers.
Race 6   RANGIORA HRC 75TH ANNIVERSARY MEETING 19 FEB MOBILE PACE
NED KELLY - broke racing into the first bend losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Weakened from the 600 metres. Trainer/driver R Houghton advised he will be making gear changes prior to resuming.
THE OPTIMIST - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
SCOTLYNN BEACH BOY - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
Race 7   WAIMAKARIRI DISTRICT JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
DONEGAL CARRICKFIN - paced roughly in the run home.
FRANCO HOFFMAN - paced roughly final bend.
BOARDING CALL - hung outwards and broke near the 1650 metres. Weakened leaving the final bend.
STORM - lost ground final bend when under pressure. When questioned regarding the performance driver G Thornley advised the mare had been unsuited to the very fast tempo of the race.
Race 8   CUST MOBILE PACE
FAST ACE - weakened final bend.
CARRERA LUCIA - paced roughly leaving the final bend.
CELTIC SPIRIT - over-raced middle stages.
KOWHAI MAGIC - over-raced early stages when being restrained towards the rear of the field.
SNEAK A PEEK - driver M Williamson reported the removable deafeners were not able to be activated due to the cord breaking.
SNOW ROBYN - over-raced middle stages.
SKIDADDLE - held up final bend.
Race 9   ASHLEY TROT
MAGNIFIQUE DIMANCHE - trotted roughly in the early stages of the run home and had to be steadied. Stewards questioned trainer/driver K Cox regarding her decision to maintain a position three back on the pylons through the back straight on the final occasion when she could have shifted outwards and taken up the one one position. Ms Cox explained the mare had been trotting roughly and she wasn't prepared to risk shifting ground at this time.
BOURBON ON THE ROCKS - broke rounding the first bend losing its chance. Trainer/driver J Versteeg advised it was his intention to freshen the gelding before resuming.
TEDESCO - broke near the 1100 metres losing all chance.
MAKE MY SUNDON - broke near the 1300 metres when contesting the lead. Broke again near the 700 metres.
CLASSIC CALL - broke at the start losing all chance.
MOONS WAY - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
MUSCLE BANK - driver G Smith reported he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
MERLOT - broke briefly at the start losing ground.
Race 10   'HAPPY NEW YEAR' MOBILE PACE
TIDE AND TIME - over-raced middle stages when leading. Driver K Cox will be spoken to regarding her use of the whip in the coming days.
HILDA MAUD - out of position at the start. Broke in the early stages losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
GET IT ON - weakened final bend.
REGGIE GOLIGHTLY - raced wide early stages. Lay inwards under pressure on the final bend and struck track markers.
NORDY STAR - hung outwards throughout and consequently had difficulty maintaining its position in the field. Weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
MORRIES GIRL - paced roughly in the early stages.
Driver K Cox (TIDE AND TIME) was warned for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
Trainer D Love advised on 4th February that GET IT ON has had its hocks injected since last racing.
