Trainer A Lethaby advised Stewards on 23 December that GLOBAL FLIGHT has recovered well following its disappointing performance last start and will continue with its current preparation.

Race 1 - CLARKSON SIGNS HANDICAP TROT
Trainer B White advised Stewards on 23 December that ONE APOLLO has been treated with antibiotics subsequent to the race after having a slow recovery. Mr White added that the horse has been sent to co-trainers G Anderson & M Love for the immediate future in an attempt to freshen the gelding on the beach with a view of resuming at the Central Otago TC meeting on 2 January 2022.
Co-trainer M Purdon advised Stewards on 23 December that bloods tests taken from AMERICAN PRIDE subsequent to its last start revealed the gelding was suffering from dehydration and has since been treated.
Race 7 - IRT FILLIES & MARES TRANSITIONAL FREE-FOR-ALL MOBILE TROT
Trainer T Yesberg advised Stewards on 21 December that MAJESTIC ACTION had a 14 days positive scan.
Rangiora HRC - Sunday, 19th December 2021
Race 4 - VERMEULEN FAMILY FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
Stable representative B Hope advised Stewards on 23 December that blood tests taken from MOSSDALE MAY subsequent to its last start revealed no abnormalities. Mr Hope added that the stable had since made gear changes to the filly which trialed well at Rangiora yesterday and it would now be restricted to all weather tracks in the immediate future.
Race 9 - NEW WORLD RANGIORA SUMMER CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
Stewards spoke with co-trainer/driver C DeFilippi regarding the performance of HEZA SPORT subsequent to its last start. Mr DeFilippi advised that the race had not been run to suit with the gelding weakening over the concluding stages. He added that the horse would now be freshened prior to resuming. Mr DeFilippi was also spoken to advisedly for the manner he drove near the 400 metres and advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground.
Co-trainer M Purdon advised Stewards on 23 December that blood tests taken from SAMHARA after its disappointing performance last start failed to reveal any abnormalities. Mr Purdon added that the colt would be freshened prior to resuming.
Race 12 - NEXT RANGIORA RACE DAY - NEW YEAR'S DAY MOBILE PACE
Trainer J Harrington advised Stewards on 23 December that an endoscopic examination of ZIA BROMAC subsequent to the race revealed the filly was suffering from an upper respiratory infection and has since been treated.

Race 1   WELCOME NEW TRACK MANAGERS "KEVIN & DAVID" TROT
JESPER FAST - broke at the start. Broke again on the first bend losing considerable ground. Hampered near the 400 metres. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer R Holmes.
MUSCLYNN - broke near the 1800 metres losing ground.
HEAVENLY STRINGS - broke at the start. Hampered near the 400 metres. Trotted roughly passing the 100 metres and had to be steadied.
VERTIGO - paced briefly at the start. Trotted roughly when shifting wider on the track to obtain clear racing room near the 250 metres.
NUBLIAH CHAMAY - lay outwards and trotted roughly on the final bend and in the run home when in search of clear racing room. Hampered near the 100 metres.
RACEY KRUSA - hampered near the 100 metres.
SILK JACKET - raced wide early stages.
KOHLI TROUBLE - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Broke near the 400 metres hampering trailing runners.

KALI B - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver J Dunn. Stood down to complete one satisfactory mobile trial.
WATCHING OUR COIN - driver M Edmonds was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
ULTIMATE BIRD - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer T Trathen advised the gelding had been racing without luck in recent starts and after receiving an economical run throughout he was not surprised by the improved performance.
HEY TONIGHT - hung inwards and paced roughly in the run home.
ROLLWITHIT - out of position at the start. Driver T Trathen was issued with a warning.
ALL TOGETHER NOW - over-raced middle stages. Paced roughly before breaking near the 100 metres. Trainer/driver T Chmiel advised he would be making gear changes prior to the gelding resuming.
SHEEZA PURLA - over-raced middle stages. Held up final bend and in the early stages of the run home.

REFINE - lay inwards and contacted track markers when weakening on the final bend.
HILDA MAUD - held up early stages of the run home.
SPICY GIRL BECQUI - raced wide early stages.
LINCOLN SKIPPER - raced wide early stages. Held up early stages of the run home.
RIDE IN A CONCORDE - over-raced when being restrained in the early stages. Weakened near the 600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be showing signs of being in season.
CRYSTAL DAYTOM - late scratching at 9.25am on veterinary advice.
NORDY STAR - paced roughly through the middle stages. Held up by a weakening runner on the final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
Race 4   BILL DOYLE MEMORIAL HANDICAP TROT
NAVARA - broke near the 400 metres.
MAUI - fractious prior to the start. Held up final bend.
SUNDONS FLYER - broke shortly after the start hampering a trailing runner.
BOSS KENNY - trotted roughly on the final bend losing ground. Continued to trot roughly in the run home and was unable to be driven out.
ISLA ELSIE - broke near the 100 metres. Driver R Close advised the mare had hung outwards in the run home prior to breaking.
KOWHAI SUNDOWN - held up final bend.
ALDEBARAN FLOSS - broke at the start losing ground. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
THE BLOSS - hampered and broke shortly after the start losing ground.
GOLD CHAIN - lay inwards in the run home with the mare's hind leg making contact with the sulky wheel of PHOEBE ONYX near the 80 metres and broke. Disqualified from 2nd placing by the Adjudicative Committee after breaking in excess of 50 metres in the final 200 metres.
Race 5   SPRAYMARKS MOBILE PACE
FRANCO MACHO - driver C Thornley reported he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
JOES ROCK - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
Race 6   BRICKTECH 2YO MOBILE TROT
ELLARIA SAND - briefly held up leaving the final bend and had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
RAKERO BLAZE - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start.
CAMERON MOR - weakened final bend. Trainer/driver R Holmes reported the gelding had been making abnormal breathing noises during the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding may have displaced its palate. Stewards will follow up with Mr Holmes in the coming days.
WY FI - trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start.
MISS YO - broke in the score up and recovered to be in position at the start.
REGAL SIERRA - raced wide early stages.
HIGHGROVE - raced wide early stages.
SASSY STAR - trotted roughly in the early stages and got back as a result.
Trainer R Holmes advised Stewards on 1 January that CAMERON MOR has been treated for a virus since last racing.

COSMIC STAR - paced roughly final bend and had to be steadied.
SUNTAN - over-raced early stages.
PLAY PHILLY - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
Race 8   RAKAIA SEED CLEANING ASHBURTON CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
CRANBOURNE - broke at the start losing ground. Had to be steadied passing the 600 metres when improving to the inside of CLASSIE BRIGADE which shifted ground simultaneously. After speaking with driver S McNally no further action was required. When spoken to regarding the performance Mr McNally advised the gelding had not been suited by the sit and sprint style of racing.
Race 9   GARY McCORMICK TRANSPORT HANDICAP PACE
RUBY'S A DELIGHT - slow to begin and broke shortly after the start.
POCKET CALL - driver L Dobbs admitted using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home and after viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Dobbs' driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 1 January 2022 (2 days).
DONEGAL CARRICKFIN - held up early stages of the run home.
DREAMINSOVER - broke on the first bend checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Over-raced middle stages.
REFLECTIONSOFMYLIFE - broke at the start. Hampered by a breaking runner on the first bend.
KOWHAI MAGIC - raced wide in the middle stages after being hampered on the first bend.
MADAME FROST - hampered by a breaking runner on the first bend.
THE CONQUEROR - checked by a breaking runner on the first bend.
BETTERWITHBLING - broke at the start losing all chance and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
NOT OVER - cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
DHAULAGIRI - broke at the start. Hampered by a breaking runner on the first bend. When spoken to regarding the performance driver J Cox advised that he had been unable to make ground due to the fast closing sectionals after getting back as a result of breaking at the start.
Race 10   JOHN ROLLINSON & CASH REGISTER MEMORIAL TROT
KENNY KEKO - held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
BEYOND THE HORIZON - driver J Smith was warned for using his whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
TRIXTON TIME - pre-race warmed. Raced wide from the 800 metres.
ALDEBARAN HEATHER - broke racing into the first bend.
SKY HIGH FLYER - hung inwards and trotted roughly throughout. Driver M Williamson advised he will be recommending gear changes.
HANOVER DA MOON - raced wide early stages. Driver G Telfer defended a charge alleging he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Telfer, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and imposed a fine of $300.
BOURBON ON THE ROCKS - raced wide early and middle stages.
CALL THIS FUN - late scratching at 9am on Veterinary advice.
FLYIN SID - over-raced middle stages.
The connections of CALL THIS FUN advised Stewards on 18 January that following the horse's late scratching on veterinary advise from this race the mare was scoped and no abnormalities were found.
