Acting on a report provided by Racing Investigators who completed a stable inspection at the training premises of C Jones this afternoon, Stewards ordered that JOHNNY NEVITS be scratched from Race 2 acting under Rule 213(1)(c). An investigation was opened into this matter.

Race 1   AVON CITY FORD MOBILE TROT
READY I AM - driver P Wakelin admitted using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home and after viewing the films and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.
TRIXTON TIME - pre-race warmed.
KENNY KEKO - raced wide from the 1100 metres. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Hope stated that although left three wide without cover from the 1000 metres, he was still disappointed with the run.
KOWHAI SUNDOWN - weakened final turn.
FLYIN SID - cleared from the unruly for future mobile starts.
Race 2   NZB STANDARDBRED MOBILE PACE
LA SABINA - raced greenly late in the score up and was out of position at the start. Continued to race greenly at various stages and in particular rounding the home turn.
JOHNNY NEVITS - late scratching at 4.20pm by Stewards acting under Rule 213(1)(c).
DELTA THREE - over-raced throughout before commencing to weaken approaching the 300 metres.
Race 3   JOHNNIE WALKER THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP TROT
SON OF THE CLEANER - broke shortly after the start losing ground before settling at the rear. Broke again passing the 2200 metres losing its chance.
MAUI - driver D McCormick admitted using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home and after viewing the films and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr McCormick's drivers licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 23 December 2021. (3 days).
ROYAL PRIDE - lay in and contacted several track markers entering the home straight. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Thornley reported the colt had lay inwards throughout.
RESOLVE - late scratching at 9.45am on veterinary advice.
REGAL ATTIRE - held up rounding the final bend.
LIGHT OF DA MOON - broke briefly at the start.
DESBOIS - broke briefly at the start.
Race 4   GRAPHITE DEVELOPMENTS LTD FUTURITY CONSOLATION MOBILE PACE
NIKKI NOTO - held up rounding the final bend.
REGGIE GOLIGHTLY - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer A Garters advised the gelding had been racing without luck in recent starts, had received an economical run throughout and had appreciated the step up in distance of tonight's race.
SOUTHERN STORM - weakened from the 700 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had suffered an atrial fibrillation and was stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
ROLLYOUROWN - broke briefly shortly after the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
TIGER TAYLOR - raced wide in the early stages.
LANCEWOOD LOUIE - hung inwards on several occasions when improving three wide passing the 1200 metres. Continued to lay inwards rounding the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised he was disappointed with the performance and Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
Trainer P Kerr advised Stewards on 15 December that blood tests taken from LANCEWOOD LOUIE following its performance at Addington last week revealed no abnormalities with the gelding being sent for a brief freshen up in consequence.
Race 5   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS MOBILE PACE
ARDEN'S DELIGHT - the hopple side carrier came adrift shortly after the start resulting in the filly breaking for several strides near the 1700 metres. Trainer G Payne was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to affix this gear so as not to come adrift. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early and middle stages of the run home.
MANHATTAN - driver B Butt reported the filly had raced lethargically throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
LAST OF THE MOHICANS - lay inwards on a number of occasions during the running. Held up for clear racing room late in the run home.
SAGINAW - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained.
Race 6   CLARKSON SIGNS TWO-YEAR-OLD MOBILE PACE
LOCHART SHARD - held up early stages of the run home.
TIDE AND TIME - over-raced in the middle stages when leading.
ALWAYS HAVE FAITH - paced roughly rounding the home turn and lost the back of FRANCO MAC. Lay inwards and had to be straightened by driver M Purdon near the 70 metres.
Race 7   BRECKON FARMS FILLIES & MARES SUMMER SPRINT MOBILE PACE
STORM - the connections advised the mare would be racing in foal. Held up for clear racing room in the middle and latter stages of the run home.
ALLAMERICANLOVER - raced wide in the early stages.
SOUNDSOFCASH - raced wide from the 1000 metres. When questioned regarding the performance driver K Newman advised that racing wide from the 1000 metres had taken its toll on the mare being able to finish the race off.
PLUTONIUM LADY - the connections advised the mare would be racing in foal. Raced wide in the early stages.
CHEEZEL - held up early and middle stages of the run home after being disappointed for a run in the passing lane to the inside of A GUINNESS DANCE. Driver R Close reported as a result the removable deafeners had not been activated.
Race 8   GO MEDIA - ALL EYES ON YOU MOBILE TROT
JIMMY CARTER - raced wide in the early stages.
I DREAM OF JEANNIE - broke near the 300 metres losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
MISSALYSSA - broke at the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Held up briefly rounding the final turn. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
Race 9   CONCRETE BROTHERS HANDICAP PACE
ABOVE N BEYOND - broke at the start hampering HEZA SPORT and settled at the rear.
DENY EVERYTHING - weakened from the 500 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery with an elevated heart rate. The connections advised they will have blood tests taken in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
HEZA SPORT - hampered at the start. Driver C DeFilippi reported he had difficulty steering the gelding in the run home and the removable deafeners had not been activated as a result. Co-trainer/driver C DeFilippi advised he would be changing the horse's bit for upcoming starts.
Trainer M Jones advised Stewards on 15 December that DENY EVERYTHING has been sent for a lengthy spell.
Race 10   FIRST DIRECT TAXIS MOBILE PACE
SWEET AFFINITY - refused to follow the mobile in the early stages of the score up at the first attempt at a start. Underwent and passed a veterinary examination prior to the re-start. Refused to take part in the re-start despite the assistance of the Clerk of the Course and swung sideways interfering with outside runners necessitating a 2nd false start. Declared a late scratching by Stewards at 9.46pm due to unsatisfactory manners. Stood down to complete one satisfactory mobile trial.
I'LL WRITE THE STORY - a false start was declared when I'LL WRITE THE STORY broke in the score up checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Driver C Thornley elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the re-start. Held up when disappointed for a run in the passing lane approaching the 100 metres and was awkwardly positioned inside the sulky of GLENTHORNE prior to being restrained. Driver C Thornley is to be spoken to in the coming days regarding the manner in which he drove at this stage of the race.
FRANCO STEFAN - lay outwards near the 200 metres when placed under pressure.
GLENTHORNE - underwent a veterinary inspection and was cleared to start. Driver T Williams reported he received a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
ZIA BROMAC - over-raced middle stages.
MIGHTY REACTOR - paced roughly entering the first turn. Broke near the 150 metres losing its chance.
UNFAZED - held up throughout the run home.
OLIVER NORTH - paced roughly for several strides after being shifted four wide at the 700 metres.
REFLECTIONSOFMYLIFE - raced wide from the 1300 metres.
