Race 1   TEMUKA TRANSPORT LTD TROT
TAMENUND - fractious prior to the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
HEAVENLY STRINGS - held up early stages of the run home and again over the concluding stages. Lay inwards and struck track markers near the 100 metres. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards had reviewed the replay and were satisfied the filly had not gained an advantage in this incident. Driver C Thornley was issued a warning to make a better effort to avoid contacting track markers.
ROSE ISLE - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer B Crothers.
NORDIC PRINCE - trotted roughly in the run home.
FAR MORE ZEALOUS - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
GINAS MAJESTY - held up for clear racing room in the early and middle stages of the run home.
KAHNTDOITALONE - broke briefly shortly after the start.
VERTIGO - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Trotted roughly in the early stages. Driver L McCormick was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for having his foot out of the sulky rest for a considerable distance in the early stages.
GALLEONS AMBASSADOR - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Broke near the 500 metres losing its chance.
CASHEM - cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.

Race 2   SIMS BAKERY FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
GET BACK - late scratching at 8.30am on Veterinary advice. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
REDNECK WOMAN - lay outwards in the run home. Driver C Ferguson was issued with a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
SHEZA MANIPULATOR - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to obtain cover. Driver M Edmonds was issued with a warning for using his whip free of the rein on one occasion near the 100 metres.
PHONE TAP - lay outwards in the run home.
STELLAR ARDEN - raced wide in the early stages.
KAYSER - raced wide in the early and middle stages before improving to the parked position near the 1000 metres.
Race 3   FOUR PEAKS TRANSPORT PACE
ROCKETMAN - trainer/driver B Weaver reported the gelding had hung throughout causing him difficulty. Mr Weaver was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
JIMMYRAY - broke shortly after the start settling at the rear. Hung outwards final bend. Briefly placed in restricted room leaving the final bend and struck track markers. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
SELSEY BILL - hung outwards in the run home and shifted up the track despite the efforts of driver B Orange.
WHITE DIAMOND GOLD - weakened leaving the final bend.
BOW MACH - lay inwards leaving the final bend briefly crowding an inside runner.
WEBS REACTOR - unsuccessfully challenged for the lead rounding the first bend. Weakened leaving the final bend. Briefly crowded near the 300 metres.
MAXIMILIAN - weakened leaving the final bend.
Race 4   ECOLAB TROT
TAKE AFTER ME - hampered near the 1650 metres after an easing of the pace.
PRINCESS DAKOTA - broke at the start losing ground. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 400 metres.
REGAL APPOINTMENT - the boring pole detached from the bridle late in the run home. Trainer G Smith was deemed not to be at fault and no further action was taken.
MADELEINE STOWE - driver P Davis defended a charge under Rule 869(4) alleging he drove in a manner which caused interference when easing the pace near the 1650 metres resulting in trailing runners being checked. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence the Adjudicative Committee upheld the charge and after hearing submissions on penalty imposed a fine of $300.
DD'S SUPER STUART - raced wide in the early stages.
UNDER AND OVER - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
PLAY DOUGH - broke entering the first bend and settled midfield. Broke again passing the 400 metres losing its chance.
SOUTH PARK - broke shortly after the start and galloped uncontrollably for the remainder of the race. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial prior to resuming.
SOME TIME - hampered near the 1650 metres after an easing of the pace.
FAST WHISPERING - checked near the 1650 metres after an easing of the pace.
THIS TIME GAMBLE - checked and broke near the 1650 metres after an easing of the pace losing considerable ground. Trotted roughly in the run home.
GOOSE HEALY - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Stood down from standing starts until the completion of one satisfactory trial. Weakened over the final stages.
Race 5   QUALITY TYRES PACE
The race was stopped by Stewards after EMMA'S BOY broke entering the first bend and then shifted inwards and jumped a track marker prior to falling. EMMA'S BOY then escaped driverless before being captured by the Clerk of the Course. The gelding was declared a late scratching at 1.45pm on veterinary advice. All runners underwent a veterinary examination prior to being cleared to start in the re-run. Driver B Orange was examined by St John Paramedics and cleared to fulfil his remaining engagements.
SHEEZAGOLDENGIRL - fractious prior to the re-run.
EMMA'S BOY - a post-race veterinary examination cleared the horse of any injury. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial prior to resuming.
TAKEMYBREATHAWAY - broke briefly shortly after the start.
TAXMAN - late scratching due to track conditions.
DECEPTIVE LEE - over-raced middle stages. Raced wide from the 1000 metres.
MARK DUNNETT - held up final bend.
CHANGEOVER JO - weakened on the final bend.
Following this race the track was downgraded to Heavy.
Race 6   TMARU HIRE TROT
The start time was re-scheduled to 2.13pm at the request of the TAB due to the delay in the previous race.
ROYAL PRIDE - hampered by a breaking runner at the start and got back as a result. Locked wheels with the improving FIGHTING FIRE near the 500 metres losing ground.
PRINCE TEKA - broke at the start settling towards the rear.
MARTHA STUART - trotted roughly when weakening final bend.
CODY BANNER - checked and broke rounding the first bend and briefly locked wheels with MAUI losing considerable ground. Hampered near the 500 metres and broke shortly after when at the rear of the field.
BRIGHT GLOW - raced wide in the early stages. Lay in rounding the first bend and despite the efforts of driver I Cameron shifted inwards crowding inside runners which were checked. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
ROGIE FALLS - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
REPEAT PAT - late scratching due to track conditions.
MAUI - began awkwardly. Checked and broke rounding the first bend and briefly locked wheels with CODY BANNER losing its chance.
DESBOIS - shifted up the track in the run home when being driven out. Driver J Dunn was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
KOWHAI SUNDOWN - checked by a breaking runner on the first bend. Hampered final bend.
FIGHTING FIRE - checked by a breaking runner on the first bend. Lay inwards near the 500 metres and locked wheels with ROYAL PRIDE and lost ground. When spoken to regarding the performance driver T Williams reported he wasn't disappointed with the gelding's effort after losing momentum on the final bend when locking wheels.
Race 7   NORTH END MOTORS PACE
The start was delayed four minutes at the request of the TAB.
KIWI X FACTOR - held up early stages of the run home.
THE KAIK - broke at the start.
TEDS LEGACY - over-raced middle stages.
CHAL PATCH - driver B Orange reported he elected not to activate the hopple shorteners due to the gelding pacing roughly in the track conditions.
KATHERINE - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
MAKASAR BOY - broke briefly at the start. Over-raced middle stages.
BETTER'S TART - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
LULU LE MANS - late scratching due to track conditions.
Race 8   PLACEMAKERS-TIMARU/TWIZEL/OAMARU GERALDINE CUP (HCP PACE)
NO TIME LIKE NOW - late scratching due to track conditions.
KISS THE GIRLS - late scratching due to track conditions.
BUCKSKIN - paced roughly final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
PAUL'S VERDICT - broke at the start and shifted inwards despite the efforts of driver M Williamson checking inside runners. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened from the 700 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
STEEL THE SHOW - late scratching due to track conditions.
SAMHARA - broke at the start losing ground.
LAVER - hung outwards in the early stages of the run home when driver G O'Reilly activated the sliding blinds and briefly crowded an outside runner. Mr O'Reilly was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
PACE N PRIDE - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start before breaking and locking wheels with SHAN NOBLE losing all chance.
SHAN NOBLE - checked and locked wheels with PACE N PRIDE shortly after the start losing ground. Driver J Cox admitted using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the middle stages of the run home and was fined $200 by the Adjudicative Committee.
MATT DAMON - briefly crowded in the early stages of the run home and had to be steadied. Driver G Smith advised he did not activate the sliding blinds. The spreader attached to the breastplate broke during the running. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
Race 9   FRESH CHOICE (GERALDINE) MOBILE PACE
HILDA MAUD - broke in the score up losing all chance and was retired from the race.
DREAMINSOVER - broke near the 500 metres losing ground. Broke again near the 350 metres.
ARDEN'S SWEETHEART - paced roughly leaving the final bend and had to be steadied.
DONEGAL CARRICKFIN - broke after 100 metres. Raced three wide early and middle stages. Broke late in the run home. Driver R Houghton reported the gelding failed to handle the track conditions.
LUMINITE - raced three wide early stages.
LANCEWOOD LOUIE - late scratching due to track conditions.
SISTER'S DELIGHT - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to obtain cover. Broke near the 900 metres.
REGGIE GOLIGHTLY - briefly hampered by a breaking runner in the score up. Paced roughly passing the 800 metres before breaking near the 600 metres hampering a trailing runner.
MAYHEM IN MALIBU - over-raced middle stages.
MACH QUILLAN - driver J Dunn reported he did not activate the sliding blinds or removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
IT'S ME - hampered by a breaking runner near the 600 metres. Driver O Thornley reported she did not activate the removable deafeners or release the hopple shorteners due to the gelding pacing roughly in the track conditions.
CONQUER ME - over-raced in the early stages.
Trainer M Brinsdon admitted a breach of Rule 823(3) in that he failed to lodge a Horse Movement for MACH QUILLAN. After hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Brinsdon, the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $150.
Race 10   LM MARSHALL MEMORIAL HANDICAP TROT
REGAL ATTIRE - late scratching due to track conditions.
COCHY MALC - raced wide with cover from the 1400 metres after runners improved along the marker line.
CLYDE - raced three wide from the 1400 metres after runners improved along the marker line. Weakened final bend.
REBEL KIBBYBONES - weakened final bend.
OVERZEALOUS - late scratching due to track conditions.
COUNT EYRE - weakened final bend before breaking near the 350 metres.
JIMMY CARTER - raced wide with cover from the 1400 metres after runners improved along the marker line.
PHOEBE ONYX - broke on the first bend losing ground. Weakened final bend. Driver T Williams reported the gelding had failed to handle the track conditions.
SPRINGBANK MASON - briefly hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend losing ground. Shifted inwards to race against the marker line approaching the 1600 metres after regaining contact with the main body of the field and was able to improve its position due to all runners ahead racing wider on the track. Hung inwards near the 1000 metres when leading dislodging a track marker. Trotted roughly and lay inwards over the concluding stages and shifted into the passing lane. Driver B Williamson was reminded of his obligations to ensure he leaves full access to the passing lane for trailing runners.
WITH ICE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance and was retired from the event.
ONE APOLLO - raced wide with cover from the 1400 metres when runners improved along the marker line.
THE DOMINATOR - late scratching due to track conditions.
Race 11   HANLEY FORMULA MOBILE PACE
MIGHTY REACTOR - lay inwards racing into the first bend contacting track markers and again near the 950 metres. Broke near the 300 metres and contacted several track markers before settling. Weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Cox advised the gelding had failed to handle the track conditions.
RIVERMAN SAM - when questioned regarding the performance driver T Williams advised the gelding had failed to handle the track conditions.
NOT OVER - late scratching due to track conditions.
