Race 8 - LAZARUS AT ALABAR' METHVEN CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
Driver S McNally (CRANBOURNE) defended a charge under Rule 857(7)(a) alleging that he delayed the start by turning out of formation without the permission of the Starter. After viewing the replays and hearing from all parties, the Adjudicative Committee found the charged proved and Mr McNally's driver's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing on 12 November up to and including 20 November 2021 (2 days).

Race 1   CHRISTMAS AT THE RACES AT RANGIORA 19 DECEMBER TROT
ROYAL DIEDRE - broke and shifted inwards abruptly and raced inside several track markers after 150 metres. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly. Broke again near the 650 metres.
JESPER FAST - broke briefly at the start. Broke again after 150 metres losing ground. Trotted roughly through the middle stages. Again trotted roughly final bend before breaking near the 350 metres.
ELLA OF MOT - broke after 150 metres losing all chance. Trainer/driver L McCormick advised the mare had been striking its sulky wheels. Mr McCormick requested the mare be placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
BULLER WHITEBAIT - broke after 150 metres losing ground. Broke again near the 1800 metres.
ANDOVERFIST - trotted roughly in the early stages losing ground. Broke near the 1100 metres and again near the 450 metres losing all chance.
ACTION PACKED - broke near the 500 metres.
Race 2   RHRC WELCOMES CUP WEEK FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
SOPHIE - unable to maintain its position behind the leader SWEET SPIRIT near the 1200 metres which enabled FLORAS DIAMOND DEAL to shift inwards ahead of the filly. Weakened from the 500 metres.
SWEET SPIRIT - weakened leaving the final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance driver R Close reported the filly had worked hard in the middle stages to maintain the lead however he had still been disappointed with the performance.
HEY TONIGHT - raced wide without cover from the 1300 metres. Weakened from the 600 metres.
MORRIES GIRL - held up early and middle stages of the run home. Broke briefly near the 150 metres. Driver B Hope advised the filly had struck a knee causing it to break.
PEMBROOK'S PRINCESS - raced wide early stages. Over-raced passing the 1300 metres when being restrained. Hung inwards final bend.
FLORAS DIAMOND DEAL - raced wide early stages. Hung inwards final bend striking several track markers. When spoken to regarding the performance driver J Dunn reported the filly had hung inwards throughout causing him difficulty and he would be recommending gear changes.
SNOW ROBYN - over-raced early stages.
Race 3   WIGGY RAVENSDOWN COMMUNICATOR OTY TROT
MUSCLYNN - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1400 metres. Driver P Wakelin reported the filly had trotted roughly throughout.
LAVRA SEGIL - broke near the 1400 metres losing ground. Trotted roughly and hung inwards final bend when attempting to shift wider on the track. Held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
MUZZ - shifted outwards after the start crowding an outside runner. Driver M Edmonds was spoken to advisedly for using his whip outside the confines of the sulky in the run home.
SUNNY SON - crowded at the start and had to be steadied. Hung inwards and trotted roughly rounding the bends and in the run home.
MISS MILLIE - broke near the 1700 metres.
MERKEL - pre-race warmed. Hung outwards and trotted roughly for a distance passing the 2200 metres and lost ground. Broke near the 1400 metres hampering trailing runner. Broke again near the 900 metres losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
KAHNTDOITALONE - broke after 100 metres losing all chance.
Race 4   RHRC SUPPORTS COVID VACCINATIONS MOBILE PACE
ROCK N DASH - a false start was declared when ROCK N DASH broke in the score up checking a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Driver T Williams elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the restart. Broke shortly after the restart. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
BEST TRIO - hampered near the 500 metres and had to be steadied. Held up early stages of the run home.
AARDIE'S CAPTAIN - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver J Dunn. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Raced wide without cover from the 1100 metres. Weakened badly from the 500 metres hampering trailing runners. When spoken to regarding the performance driver J Dunn could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
ROLLYARRRZ - driver K Newman advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered. A side hopple carrier came adrift during the running. This gear was inspected and was sufficiently taped with trainer J Harrington deemed not to be at fault.
VICTOR BRAVO - hampered by a weakening runner near the 500 metres. Driver B Hope reported he sustained a punctured sulky tyre in this incident. Junior driver B Hope (assisted by M Williamson) was shown a replay and issued with a warning to display greater awareness after becoming awkwardly placed close to the wheel of AARDIE'S CAPTAIN which had commenced to weaken rapidly from the 500 metres.
MALDITO - hampered near the 500 metres. Weakened final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance driver M Williamson reported the gelding had cast the off front shoe as a result of the false start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
ALL TOGETHER NOW - broke briefly in the early stages of the score up of the restart. Over-raced middle stages.
Race 5   BE CAREFUL WITH FIREWORKS PACE
OPAWA LOUIE - broke at the start.
GLITZ AND GLAM - broke at the start. Briefly crowded near the 1400 metres by an outside runner when over-racing. Continued to over-race through the middle stages. Paced roughly near the 800 metres losing ground. Weakened final bend. Trainer/driver M Purvis reported in his opinion the filly may have choked down. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
JAVASA - weakened over the concluding stages. When spoken to regarding the performance driver B Butt advised he was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation.
CHEEKYGRIN - placed in restricted room near the 2200 metres making contact with a track marker which had been dislodged.
WATCH ME - driver K Cox was warned for the manner she drove rounding the first bend when placing an inside runner in restricted room.
SOMEDREAMSOMEWHERE - when spoken to regarding the performance driver T Williams advised he wasn't overly disappointed with the performance after the gelding had worked hard in the middle stages to obtain the parked position.
HIT THE BEACH - broke at the start. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 2200 metres.
WESTAR MOLLY - hung inwards throughout the run home.
ELOEL - hampered by a breaking runner at the start and got back as a result. Weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
MAJOR WILSON - driver B Orange was spoken to advisedly to exercise greater care when shifting ground near the 1400 metres which briefly crowded an inside runner.
SOUTHERN STORM - held up throughout the run home. Driver S Ottley reported she had not activated the removable deafeners or sliding blinds in consequence.
BONO BROWN - jumped a track marker which had been dislodged near the 2200 metres and broke losing all chance.
ELIZA DAVOLTA - broke at the start. Weakened final bend.
Race 6   DOUG FREWIN - RHRC HONORARY LIFE MEMBER MOBILE PACE
HUEGO BOS - hung inwards final bend when weakening.
TIMES ARE A CHANGIN - broke near the 450 metres after breaking a hopple carrier with trailing runners being hampered. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously satisfactory condition.
TAURUS BROMAC - raced wide early stages.
TIGER LOU - hampered by a breaking runner near the 450 metres. Weakened final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance co-trainer and driver C DeFilippi advised he was disappointed with the effort and would be making adjustments to the mare's training regime prior to its next start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
MOODY RIVER - raced wide early stages.
TRUEHAWK - weakened final bend.
SPORTSCAM - hung inwards rounding the first bend losing ground. Hung inwards near the 500 metres and paced roughly. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 450 metres. Trainer/driver J Cox advised the gelding would be sent for a spell.
Co-trainer C DeFilippi advised Stewards on 12 November that TIGER LOU has recovered well from its last start and would be given a brief freshen up prior to resuming.
Race 7   FIVE PEAKS BREW CO. KAIAPOI MOBILE PACE
SCARED STIFF - held up final bend.
AVEROSS RUSTLER - raced wide without cover from the 700 metres.
REFINE - hung inwards final bend and struck several track markers.
INVISIBLE GIRL - weakened leaving the final bend.
WILL HE ROCK - raced wide early stages. Paced roughly final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
STYX SWEETIE - raced wide early stages.
JENABELLA - held up final bend.
Race 8   PARIHAKA COMMEMORATION PACE
RON MCKINLEY -became fractious when addressing the barrier strand and was sent to the unruly position by the Starter where the gelding will remain for future standing starts. Broke at the start. Trainer T Yesberg advised the gelding would be restricted to mobile starts in the immediate future.
CLASSEY ROBIN - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages. Trainer/driver G Smith advised he would be adding hopple shorteners to the mare's gear for upcoming starts.
KOWHAI SHADOW - broke near the 200 metres.
GET OUTTA TOWN - trainer A Stuart advised the gelding had cast the off fore shoe during the running.
MYRCELLA - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Driver M Purvis advised a hopple carrier had broken when in a break. Returned to the stable area with blood present in its mouth with a post-race veterinary examination revealing a minor laceration on the inside of the mouth.
FULL OF DESIRE - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
ARCHAIC LUSTRE - driver C DeFilippi defended a charge under Rule 857(7)(a) alleging he had delayed the start after allowing his horse to charge the barrier strand when anticipating the start. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from all parties the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and imposed a fine of $300.
ROCK N DIAMONDS - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Driver J Dunn advised the gelding had been hanging throughout.
MAJOR COLLECT - broke briefly in the early stages.
Race 9   BETAVET YOUNG AT HEART MOBILE PACE
CHAL BE-driver R Close advised the gelding had hung outwards throughout the running.
PRECIOUS SARA - hung inwards and paced roughly approaching the 1600 metres.
SKIDADDLE - a false start was declared when SKIDADDLE broke in the score up checking a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Driver K Newman elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the restart.
CAESAR'S QUEST - raced wide early stages. Over-raced when racing in the parked position through the middle stages.
PAY ME VISA - raced wide early stages.
DIXIE REIGN - driver T Williams reported he sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
SOUTHERLY CHANGE- hung inwards on the bends throughout the running.
Race 10   BRIGHT GLOW RHRC HORSE OF THE YEAR HANICAP TROT
ILLEGAL ALIEN - broke at the start. Weakened final bend.
MAUI - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer/driver D McCormick advised that the gelding was having its third race following a freshen up, had improved after last week's effort after sitting parked throughout and was able to capitalise on a good run today.
KENNY KEKO - raced wide early stages.
BOURBON ON THE ROCKS - held up rounding the final bend. Trotted roughly and broke passing the 150 metres.
AMERICAN VIKING - raced wide early stages. Broke passing the 500 metres.
THIS TIME GAMBLE - broke after 150 metres losing considerable ground. Trotted roughly in the run home.
Race 11   RHRC RACING WEDNESDAY 17 NOVEMBER MOBILE PACE
LUMINITE - junior driver S Thornley (assisted by R May) was issued with a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
