The connections of MACH'S BACK advised Stewards on 5 November that blood tests revealed no abnormalities with the gelding continuing with its current preparation.

Race 1   NOEL TAYLOR NZ TROTTING HALL OF FAME HANDICAP TROT
EXPENSIVE CRUMPET - broke near the 300 metres losing its chance.
LADY BE GOOD - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after a minor incident in the stabling area and was cleared to start. Trotted roughly under pressure throughout the run home and could not be driven out.
RECYCLE - broke passing the 600 metres losing its chance.
HESTON HALL - commenced to weaken passing the 500 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
KELVINZ LUCK - tangled away losing ground. Over-raced in the middle stages.
THE BIG BIRD - the required veterinary clearance was received. Raced wide from the 600 metres.
SPECIAL WAY - trotted roughly in the early stages losing ground. Lay in rounding the bends.
Starter F Phelan was shown a replay of the start and reminded of his obligations to ensure all horses are in their correct position after KELVINZ LUCK was not fully in position when the start was effected.

MR INCREDIBLE - paced roughly rounding the final bend. Lay in and contacted a marker peg near the 250 metres. Weakened in the run home. A post-race veterinary examination, at the request of trainer A Beecroft, revealed a cut to the left fore pastern which was treated. Mr Beecroft advised Stewards that the gelding will be sent for a spell.
BET WEST - over-raced in the middle stages.
COMIC BOOK HERO - weakened final bend.
ACE STRIKE - raced wide from the 500 metres.
M T POCKETS - over-raced in the middle stages when leading.
OHOKA ACHILLES - had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room early in the run home.
Race 3   DAWSON HARFORD TROT
CYCLONE LUCKY LINDA - driver Z Butcher reported that he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
CYCLONE LEBRON - driver M McKendry was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion late in the run home.
DEBBIE LEE GALLEON - held up rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
KEYSTONE COMET - late scratching at 8.56am on Veterinary advice.
ALDEBARAN KEEPA - broke rounding the first bend losing ground before settling. Lay in and contacted several marker pegs near the 1300 metres. Held up for clear racing room until passing the 100 metres.
HELSINGOR - raced wide in the early stages. Raced greenly and lay in at various stages. Broke near the 350 metres losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Trainer S Green advised Stewards that it was his intention to give the gelding a brief spell.
Race 4   LINCOLN FARMS MOBILE PACE
BETTERTHANDIVA - raced wide from the 500 metres. When questioned regarding the performance driver M McKendry reported that the filly which was having its first start had raced greenly during the running and in his opinion would derive considerable benefit from the race.
SHARKINE - raced wide in the early and middle stages. Gave ground passing the 400 metres.
COS I CAN - raced four wide from the 600 metres. Paced roughly rounding the final bend.
MR WONDERFUL - raced wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field. Broke near the 1400 metres losing ground. Broke again near the 450 metres losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Co-Trainer S Telfer admitted a breach of Rule 865(2) in that he presented MR WONDERFUL with a blind which was not notified. The Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $150.00
SOME CHEVRON - over-raced in the early stages causing driver B Mangos some difficulty.
ELATED - lay in during the score up and was out of position at the start despite the efforts of junior driver N Delany. Broke near the 1450 metres losing ground before settling. Broke again near the 650 metres. A warning was placed on the racing record of the colt.
Race 5   CADUCEUS CLUB $20K 2YO FILLIES MOBILE PACE
FOREVER A DANCER - driver J Stormont admitted a charge in that he used his whip free of the rein passing the 150 metres and with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $450.
SOME GIRLS DONT - paced roughly approaching the 400 metres losing ground. Co-trainer G Hughes advised Stewards that the filly had struck a knee.
AIMING FOR GLORY - raced wide in the early stages.
OBSESSION - raced wide in the early stages.
Race 6   HR FISKEN & SONS HANDICAP TROT
IN SEQUENCE - reared as the start was effected. Lay out in the straights.
RAIN MIST AND MUSCLE - reared as the start was effected.
Race 7   IRT - "EXCELLENCE IN EQUINE AIRFREIGHT" MOBILE PACE
HEZASHADOWPLAYA - had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
MEETMEINSORRENTO - paced roughly for several strides near the 300 metres when being shifted wider on the track.
THEE OLD BOMB - over-raced in the middle stages.
Race 8   HARNESS MILLIONS SAT 12 FEB AT ALEXANDRA PARK MOB PACE
GETN WIGGY WITHIT - shifted up the track marginally early in the run home.
LITTLE SUZIE - over-raced when outside the leader in the middle stages.
MAY DELIGHT - raced three wide in the early stages.
RUBY MACH - lay in under pressure late in the run home having to be corrected by driver B Butcher losing some momentum.
Race 9   GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND PUKEKOHE TROT
THE GOVERNATOR - slow to begin then shifted up the track losing ground. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Phelan advised that the gelding had received every opportunity. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
RUBY RIDGE - fractious prior to the start. Swung sideways at the start checking trailing runners and took no part. The mare was placed on the unruly by Stewards for future standing starts.
I GOT MUSIC - fractious prior to the start. Driver A Poutama advised that he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
UNCLE LOUIS - checked at the start losing ground. Trotted roughly in the early stages and had to be steadied by driver T Herlihy.
ERROL D - checked at the start losing considerable ground. Lay in rounding the final bend.
