Fractious in the pre-race formation prior to the restart and was sent to the unruly position by the Starter where the filly will remain for future mobile starts. Hung inwards throughout the run home. Driver M Herbert admitted a breach of Rule 857(7)(e) in that he crossed over prior to reaching the starting point when drawn on the unruly. After hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Herbert's drivers licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 11 December 2021 (6 weeks). | |

Following this race a delegation of Stewards, Drivers, Club Officials and the HRNZ Track & Venue Inspector examined an area of the track near the 400 metres where MARTIN JOHN had slipped. Following this inspection, all parties were satisfied the track was in a safe condition to continue racing on and after consulting with several other Senior Drivers it was unanimously agreed that the meeting should proceed. |

When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver T Chmiel advised the gelding had to work hard in the early stages and had proved disappointing after being held up on the final bend. He added that the horse may be better suited when able to be driven for one run. | |

Mr Orange added the horse had lost momentum when having to be steadied on the final bend after a slight easing of the pace and he expected the horse would derive considerable benefit from its first start back after a lengthy spell. | |
