Race 1   LONE STAR ALEXANDRA PARK HANDICAP TROT
LUVSA COLD ONE - slow to begin. Jumped a shadow and broke passing the 1400 metres when challenging for the lead but soon settled. Commenced to weaken rounding the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Dickie reported that he was disappointed with the gelding's effort even taking into account that it had broken during the running. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
RUMOUR HAS IT - held up by a weakening runner final bend. Junior driver S Rapley (assisted by driver T Macfarlane) was spoken to advisedly for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion inside the final 50 metres. When questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance Ms Rapley advised that the filly had been performing well at the trials prior to its resuming race and connections had expected a bold showing leading into tonight's event.
COMMANCHERO - broke near the 1300 metres losing considerable ground. Broke again approaching the 400 metres losing all chance.
CRUISE CONTROL - weakened on the final bend.
CYBER ATTACK - shifted inwards at the start hampering CHICAGO H.
CHICAGO H - hampered at the start.
HILL OF PEACE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1300 metres.
Race 2   JACOBSEN HEADSTONES MOBILE PACE
THE IRON LADY - held up final bend.
BETTERTHANYOUTHINK - commenced to weaken rounding the final bend then lay in contacting marker pegs near the 250 metres.
ULTIMATE MISSILE - driver S Phelan admitted a charge in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.
LIEUTENANT ARDEN - broke near the 1550 metres when at the rear losing ground before settling. Broke again near the 350 metres losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record.
Race 3   BELL SCAFFOLDING MOBILE PACE
GETN WIGGY WITHIT - raced keenly through the middle stages.
THE MISSING SOCK - broke early in the score up however was in position at the start.
ARDEN'S HORIZON - raced wide from the 500 metres.
MR INCREDIBLE - raced keenly in the middle stages. Driver A Beecroft was shown a replay and spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
Race 4   SPEEDING SPUR AT WOODLANDS TENDER BY 29 OCT HCP TROT
IN SEQUENCE - fractious prior to the start.
SPECIAL WAY - broke briefly at the start losing ground before settling. Trotted roughly passing the 500 metres having to be steadied when the tempo increased markedly. Continued to trot roughly in the run home and was unable to be driven out.
VATICAN HILL - broke briefly at the start. Trotted roughly near the 300 metres.
CALL ME TROUBLE - improved wide from the 600 metres and weakened late in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver Z Butcher advised that he was disappointed with the gelding's effort and it was his intention to give the horse a brief spell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Race 5   NRM MOBILE PACE
BET WEST - driver L Hollis was shown a replay and issued with a warning for using his whip with a more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
BAKARI - over-raced middle stages when outside the leader. Compounded near the 450 metres. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing performance.
RIVERBOY BEN - raced wide early before being restrained to the rear. Raced wide without cover from the 1200 metres. Weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Dickie reported that the gelding had worked hard when improving wide on the track with the effort taking its toll to finish the race off competitively. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Race 6   SWEET LOU AT WOODLANDS TENDER BY 29 OCT MOBILE PACE
HESASHORETHING - over-raced in the middle stages when outside the leader. Commenced to give ground rounding the final bend.
BROOKIES JAFFA - paced roughly rounding the final bend.
MACH'S BACK - raced wide without cover from the 1200 metres. Weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Stormont reported that the gelding had raced lethargically throughout and had been disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding with connections in the coming days.
The connections of MACH'S BACK advised Stewards on 5 November that blood tests revealed no abnormalities with the gelding continuing with its current preparation.
Race 7   MCMILLAN EQUINE FEEDS HANDICAP TROT
BRO FAWKES S - junior driver Z Meredith (assisted by driver A Herlihy) was shown a replay and spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
CRUISE LINER - swung sideways at the start then broke losing ground. Broke again passing the 400 metres losing its chance.
WHO'S QUEEN - weakened in the run home.
UNCLE LOUIS - broke at the start losing its chance and was retired from the event. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
STILL EYRE - hampered by a breaking runner final bend and lost ground.
LEXI T - inconvenienced shortly after the start.
GAZ MAN - raced wide early stages. Broke passing the 500 metres and was taken down inside the marker line to avoid trailing runners and lost all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record.
