VIGILANTE - out of position at the start. Driver K Larsen was issued with a warning. Raced wide in the early stages.
SCHIAVONE - held up in the early stages of the home straight.
TASHS BAD GIRL - out of position at the start. Driver A Kyle was issued with a warning. When asked to comment on the improved performance Trainer/Driver A Kyle advised the filly has had a change to its feeding and training regime and had worked well in the lead up to today. Driver A Kyle was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight.
ART PROFILE - paced roughly racing into the first bend having to be steadied. Lay inwards on the bend near the 800 metres.
Race 2   THE NORTHERN TAVERN MOBILE PACE
VAN LIBERTY - raced wide without cover until reaching the parked position near the 1000 metres.
DUKE OF CORNWALL - Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule near the 1400 metres where it appeared as though the colt had shifted SECOND WAVE wider on the track and taken a run to which it was not entitled. After speaking with Junior Driver S O'Reilly Stewards were satisfied that SECOND WAVE had hung outwards and presented a run for DUKE OF CORNWALL which M Williamson had opted to take. No further action was deemed necessary.
LOU'S DEAL - over-raced in the early stages and briefly became awkwardly positioned close to the sulky of DUKE OF CORNWALL. Junior Driver R Heads was spoken to advisedly for using her whip free of the rein on one occasion in the middle stages of the run home. R Heads reported she was unable to release the removable deafeners due to the cord breaking. The gear was subsequently inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
JACCKA WALLY - Driver R McIlwrick reported he was unable to release the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
HENRY MAGUIRE - raced three-wide throughout. Weakened from the 400 metres. Driver P Hunter reported the gelding had been difficult to control in the early stages.
Race 3   THE NEWFIELD TAVERN FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
LOVEMAKENTIME - raced greenly on various occasions during the running causing Driver J Morrison some difficulty.
STUNIN STAR - broke in the score-up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile engagements at the request of Trainer R Austin.
CELTIC ABBEY - paced roughly on various occasions during the running. Broke passing the 150 metres.
MAHINDI - briefly paced roughly on the first bend. Junior Driver S O'Reilly reported the filly had been making abnormal breathing noises during the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the filly with trainer B Norman in the coming days.
PRINCESS KENNEDY - raced wide in the early stages. Lay inwards and broke passing the 1400 metres losing considerable ground.
Trainer B Norman advised Stewards on 7 November that MAHINDI has been scoped with no abnormalities detected and will continue with its current preparation.
Race 4   EASTERN SUBURBS MOBILE TROT
OUR PINOCCHIO - Junior Driver K Bublitz reported he did not release the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
PETRONELLI GEE - weakened on the final bend.
CHEEKY MONKEY - hampered by a tiring runner rounding the final bend. Held up leaving the final bend then further hampered by a breaking runner for some distance near the 150 metres.
PHOEBE'S DELIGHT - briefly trotted roughly near the 600 metres before improving three-wide. Broke passing the 150 metres hampering a trailing runner and losing all chance.
Race 5   ASCOT SPORTS BAR UP N COMERS MOBILE TROT
INSIST THE WIN - lay outwards in the score-up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Lay outwards and over-raced through the middle stages. Trainer/Driver L Pearson advised she would be making changes to the geldings' gear prior to racing next.
SVELT - unable to obtain clear racing room until the latter stages of the run home. Driver S Ottley reported she did not release the removable deafeners due to being held up. Driver S Ottley was questioned regarding the tactics she adopted near the 400 metres when not taking the opportunity to improve three-wide. Miss Ottley explained that given the horses previous form, in her opinion the mare would not be suited to racing wide from this stage and that she is best saved for one late run. Stewards took no further action other than to note Miss Ottleys' comments.
Race 6   EDITOR'S CUT MOBILE PACE
PLAYBOY PRINCE - weakened on the final bend.
SHE'S A DAGG - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to take cover.
MACH QUILLAN - over-raced in the early stages. The saddle cloth became detached near the 1700 metres and hung loose thereafter. Again over-raced near the 900 metres before being sent forward to race in the parked position near the 700 metres.
I'M WATCHING YOU - held up in the early to middle stages of the run home.
Race 7   THE AVE MOBILE PACE
ESPECIAL - shifted up the track abruptly near the 700 metres with the sulky making contact with the hind leg of BLACK OPS. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
AMERICAN MAC - slow to leave the pre-race formation and was slightly out of position at the start. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile engagements. Weakened on the final bend.
BLACK OPS - checked near the 700 metres and broke in consequence losing all chance. Stewards questioned Driver S Tomlinson regarding the tactics she adopted during the middle stages where after making an unsuccessful challenge for the front applied some pressure to the lead of ESPECIAL until the 700 metres. Miss Tomlinson advised her runner was notoriously one paced who had always performed best when able to race in front. She added that the gelding lost ground on the bends but was able to make that up again in the straights despite racing lethargically and having to be urged along. Miss Tomlinson said that her horse required a solid even pace throughout and was still travelling comfortably until being checked out of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
MELTON MAFIA - briefly hampered by a breaking runner near the 700 metres.
MACANDREW AVIATOR - briefly hampered by a breaking runner near the 700 metres.
DREAM OF GLORY - held up on the final bend by a tiring runner.
Race 8   ILT MOBILE PACE
SIR BRIGADOON - lay out in the score-up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Paced roughly near the 400 metres losing ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have an elevated respiratory and heart rate and to be showing signs of mild dehydration. Stewards will follow up the recovery of SIR BRIGADOON with Trainer M House in the coming days.
SANTANNA MACH - weakened on the final bend.
Stable representative T Dewe advised Stewards on 7 November that SIR BRIGADOON has recovered well following its performance on 28 October and has been sent for a spell.
Race 9   WAIKIWI TAVERN MOBILE PACE
HAZER - broke passing the 650 metres hampering trailing runners. Stood down to trial in a satisfactory manner on one occasion prior to resuming.

JIMMY CARTER - broke briefly at the start losing considerable ground.
CRUSHER COLLINS - broke after 100 metres losing all chance. A final warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
