TOOBUSY BEING FAMOUS - slow to begin.
GINAS MAJESTY - trotted roughly throughout the run home.
GALLEONS AMBASSADOR - began awkwardly. Checked by a breaking runner in the early stages of the run home and broke after making heavy contact. Driver J Morrison reported the filly had been hanging throughout.
TRUEBLUE WAIHEMO - hampered by a breaking runner in the early stages of the run home.
ROSSCO TROUBLE - trainer B White was issued with a warning for presenting the gelding to race without the notified pacifier. When questioned regarding the improved performance trainer B White reported the gelding had performed well two starts ago however had broken at its last start resulting in the horse losing ground. Mr White added he had instructed his driver to give the horse a strong warm up today which had suited the gelding.
BARRYTOWN - over-raced middle stages.
RACHEL DAYTOM - broke at the start.
ANDOVERFIST - trotted roughly in the early stages. The boring pole came adrift from the saddle on the final bend. This gear was inspected and the trainer was found not to be at fault.
FLYIN SID - trotted roughly and broke in the early stages losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Trotted roughly through the middle stages. Broke again near the 700 metres losing all chance.
ACTION PACKED - raced wide early stages until reaching the parked position at the 1750 metres. Broke in the early stages of the run home checking a trailing runner.
Race 2   RAKAIA SEED CLEANING MOBILE PACE
MORRIES GIRL - broke shortly after the start checking trailing runners and also losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
HEY TONIGHT - paced roughly as the start was effected. Checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
ROLLYARRRZ - shifted inwards racing into the first bend and contacted the sulky wheel of TANE J J. Junior driver K Newman (assisted by B Orange) admitted driving carelessly in this incident and after hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.
VINCENT VEGA - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer M Cations advised the horse had been trialing well after being sent for a spell and he was not surprised by the effort.
SIR MONTY - J Curtin was an authorised driver change replacing S Thompson due to transport difficulties.
TANE J J - over-raced in the early stages. Driver J Young-Grant reported she sustained a punctured sulky tyre racing into the first bend. When questioned regarding the improved performance J Young-Grant advised the gelding had been racing without luck in recent starts when having to work hard in the running and had been suited when saved for one run today.
BEWARNEDBABE - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start and broke.
CRYSTAL DAYTOM - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Weakened from the 600 metres.
Race 3   STAPLE & KIDD PACE
PHONE TAP - the boring pole was removed prior to the start after warming up unfavourably. Broke briefly at the start. Held up throughout the run home. Driver J Young-Grant advised the removable deafeners and sliding blinds were not activated in consequence.
JAVASA - lay inwards throughout the run home.
BUDDY REIGN - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
BONO BROWN - driver K Tomlinson was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for being late to present her runner on the track.
WEBS REACTOR - broke at the start losing ground.
Race 4   JA & GD TRUDGEON PAINTERS & DECORATORS PACE
ROCKNROLL DIVA - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Broke at the start hampering a trailing runner and losing all chance.
JUST MICHAEL - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer J Hooper advised the gelding had benefited from a more favourable barrier draw and had derived considerable benefit from its first start after a spell. He added the gelding had been performing well at recent trials and he was not surprised with the effort.
HUEGO BOS - backed away as the start was effected hampering a trailing runner. Raced wide without cover from the 800 metres.
MARK DUNNETT - held up final bend and early stages of the run home.
PEMBROOK TILLY - stood on the mark losing considerable ground. Lay inwards and struck track markers on the final bend.
STARKERS - broke at the start losing ground. Over-raced middle stages.
MAREN FRANCO - broke at the start losing ground.
MOTOR MOUTH - hampered at the start and broke losing all chance.
ROYAL JESTER - raced wide early stages.
WITH GRACE - when questioned regarding the performance driver K Newman advised the filly had been unable to improve into the race after the three wide line had failed to progress and had been forced very wide on the track leaving the final bend by an inside runner. Mr Newman added that considering this he was pleased with the performance of the filly.
SPECIALE UNO - hampered at the start by a breaking runner.
Race 5   TARA FAMILY TRUST HANDICAP TROT
GOOSE HEALY - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened from the 700 metres.
MAJESTIC JAG - broke in the early stages of the run home.
PRINCE TEKA - broke at the start losing ground.
DD'S SUPER STUART - slow to begin.
SODS LAW - driver J Geddes reported he sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 1900 metres. Raced wide without cover from the 1200 metres. Eased out of the race on the final bend.
TEST THE BOUNDARIES - over-raced early stages and following an easing of the pace near the 1900 metres struck the sulky wheel of SODS LAW despite the efforts of driver J Ford.
WITH ICE - Stewards spoke to driver T Williams regarding his attempt to shift inwards passing the 2100 metres when placing an inside runner in restricted room and reminded him of his obligations to exercise greater care when shifting ground.
Race 6   PAT & PAULINE O'REILLY MEMORIAL JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
SKY VALE - driver D van Til reported a sulky tyre deflated during the running.
TAS GIRL BROMAC - trainer J Harrington was issued with a warning for being late to notify the mare would be racing with removable deafeners. Driver J Simpson was spoken to advisedly for using his whip free of the rein on one occasion in the early stages of the run home.
UNCLE CHAN - lay outwards in the run home and shifted up the track. Junior driver C Dalgety will be spoken to in the coming days regarding his use of the whip throughout the run home.
EL DORADO - paced roughly in the early stages.
A TASTE OF HONEY - held up early stages of the run home.
JACK RYAN - shifted outwards passing the 900 metres briefly hampering DIXIE REIGN. Stewards spoke to driver B Hope and advised him to exercise more care when shifting ground. Paced roughly in the early stages of the run home.
FIRE FOX - paced roughly throughout the run home.
DIXIE REIGN - hampered near the 900 metres when forced wider on the track.
Driver C Dalgety (UNCLE CHAN) was spoken to advisedly to ensure he breaks up the use of his whip in the run home with alternative actions.
Race 7   METHVEN PANEL & PAINT MOBILE PACE
SISTER'S DELIGHT - hampered by an easing of the pace near the 1000 metres. Raced wider on the final bend when an inside runner shifted outwards.
JESSIE KELLY - raced wide early stages. Eased the pace near the 1000 metres after reaching the parked position with trailing runners being hampered. Stewards issued junior driver B Hope with a charge under Rule 869(4) for driving in a manner that caused or was likely to cause interference. Mr Hope, who declined assistance from a senior driver, admitted the breach and the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.
SENORITA MARGARITA - over-raced early stages.
SOPHIA BROMAC - raced wide early stages. Hampered by an easing of the pace near the 1000 metres. When questioned regarding the improved performance trainer M Smolenski advised the filly had been racing well in stronger fields and had appreciated a drop in class today and the grass track.
MOSAIC ART - shifted out on the final bend causing outside runners to also be taken wider.
SCELTA UNO - shifted outwards on the final bend crowding an outside runner. Driver G Smith will be spoken to in the coming days regarding this.
CONQUER ME - raced wide early stages. Hampered by an easing of the pace near the 1000 metres. Crowded leaving the final bend and had to be steadied.
KRYSTAL DELIGHT - hampered by an easing of the pace near the 1000 metres. Hung inwards leaving the final bend after being shifted wider on the track.
CHAL BE - raced wide early and middle stages until reaching the parked position near the 700 metres.
PAUL'S VERDICT - hampered by an easing of the pace near the 1000 metres.
Driver G Smith was spoken to advisedly to exercise more care when shifting ground.
Race 8   LAZARUS AT ALABAR' METHVEN CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
There was a delay to the start of the race when the barriers were set up at the wrong point and had to be relocated.
There was a further delay when SOMEKINDAWONDERFUL was unable to be brought up into its position resulting in the field being turned away.
CRANBOURNE - held up early stages of the run home. Stewards lodged a charge with the Adjudicative Committee alleging that driver S McNally had delayed the start by turning out of formation without the permission of the Starter with this matter adjourned sine die.
KANGO - broke at the start losing ground. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages. Lay outwards under pressure through the final straight.
SOMEKINDAWONDERFUL - reared on several occasions prior to the start and was back out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
VINTAGE CHEDDAR- driver B Williamson will be spoken to in the coming days regarding his use of the whip over the final 200 metres.
Driver B Williamson (VINTAGE CHEDDAR) was issued with a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
Driver S McNally (CRANBOURNE) defended a charge under Rule 857(7)(a) alleging that he delayed the start by turning out of formation without the permission of the Starter. After viewing the replays and hearing from all parties, the Adjudicative Committee found the charged proved and Mr McNally's driver's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing on 12 November up to and including 20 November 2021 (2 days).
Race 9   WHAT THE HILL FILLIES & MARES TROTTING CLASSIC (HCP TROT)
CALL THIS FUN - broke near the 500 metres hampering trailing runners.
FAST WHISPERING - broke at the start losing all chance.
SOME TIME - broke at the start losing ground.
MAJESTIC ACTION - hampered by a breaking runner near the 500 metres.
GIRLS LET LOOSE - broke rounding the first bend settling at the rear of the field. Hampered by a breaking runner on the final bend.
ZSA ZOE - when questioned regarding the improved performance co-trainer A Tomlinson advised the mare had benefited from a return to grass track racing and a drop in class from its last start. Mrs Tomlinson added the horse has performed well on this course previously and had received a favourable run throughout when racing in the trail.
SHANDON BELLS - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
FULL OF HOPE - the required veterinary clearance was received.
KAHRESS - driver R Holmes admitted a breach of the Whip & Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the early stages of the run home. After hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Holmes' driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 21 October 2021 (3 days).
MAJESTIC CHICK - trotted roughly shortly after the start. Broke after 100 metres losing all chance.
SIOUX PRINCESS - hampered by a breaking runner and broke near the 450 metres losing its chance.
VACATION HILL - hung inwards and trotted roughly throughout the final straight having to be corrected on several occasions by driver G O'Reilly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare was slightly sore in the hindquarters. The connections advised they will have blood tests taken in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
Trainer K Townley advised Stewards on 14 October that blood tests taken from VACATION HILL revealed several irregularities with the mare being treated prior to resuming.
Race 10   RAY HICKMAN MEMORIAL HANDICAP PACE
SZYBKA LANE - broke at the start.
NO TIME LIKE NOW - stood on the mark.
HILARIOUS PRINCE - driver J Simpson reported he dropped his whip in the run home.
DODGETHEBULLET - broke at the start. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts.
BETTOR BELIEVE IT - hung inwards in the middle stages of the run home losing momentum. Driver C Thornley advised he had difficulty activating the removable deafeners after the cord shifted out of his reach.
CORRAVALLY STAR - held up leaving the final bend.
A BETTOR ACT - broke at the start losing ground.
JAZELLE - broke at the start losing ground. Weakened final bend.
NEW YORK MINUTE - broke briefly shortly after the start. Held up early stages of the run home.
Race 11   BARRIE BARBER/DUDLEY HARRISON MOBILE PACE
MOTORING MAJOR - weakened final bend. Stewards questioned driver C Thornley in relation to his decision not to hand up to KING ARTHUR in the middle stages of the race. Mr Thornley reported the connections had advised him that the gelding had previously raced in a more genuine manner when leading so had elected to hold that position when challenged.
LITTLE GEE - driver L O'Reilly was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion on one occasion in the run home.
PETE'S DASH - driver D O'Connell reported he had not released the gelding's deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
KANSAS CITY JIM - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer S Lock advised the gelding had broken at its last start and had appreciated the grass track surface today.
ROSIES TERROR - broke in the score up losing ground and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Trainer G Prendergast reported the mare had cast the off fore shoe in the early stages.
PLAY BY EAR - weakened passing the 900 metres and then compounded thereafter being distanced over the final stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had suffered an atrial fibrillation. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG.
FRANCO CORNEL - raced wide early stages. Raced roughly on occasions when racing wide in the middle stages. Broke near the 700 metres. When questioned regarding the gelding's performance driver T Williams could offer no explanation.
