Race 1   CATERING SOUTH CANTERBURY AMATEUR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
THE NAENAE EXPRESS - received midrace pressure when leading. Weakened over the concluding stages. Driver A Fitzgerald was warned for the manner in which he conducted himself towards another driver during the running.
WEE RING THE CHANGES - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start before trailing the field throughout. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
DISMARA - raced three wide early. Over-raced middle stages.
DREAMINSOVER - raced three wide early stages until reaching the parked position at the 1900 metres. Weakened from the 600 metres. Driver C Negus (assisted by B Negus) was questioned regarding the manner in which she drove when challenging for the lead for a considerable distance during the middle stages before weakening. After considering her explanation, Stewards issued a charge under Rule 868(2) alleging that Mrs Negus had failed to take all reasonable and permissible measures between the 1900 metres and the 1000 metres to ensure her runner was given full opportunity to win or obtain the best possible finishing position by persisting with the challenge for the lead which proved to be to the detriment of her gelding's chances. The Adjudicative Committee adjourned the matter sine die.
TIEBREAKER - lay inwards at various stages throughout the running.
Amateur Driver C Negus (DREAMINSOVER) defended a charge under Rule 868(2) alleging that she failed to take all reasonable and permissible measures between the 1900 and 1000 metres to ensure the horse was given full opportunity to win or obtain the best possible finishing position which proved to be to the detriment of the gelding's chances. After hearing evidence and submissions from all parties, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and after receiving penalty submissions, Mrs Negus' licence to drive was suspended from 6 December 2021 up to and including 6 April 2022 (4 months) and in addition was fined $400.
Race 2   NIGHT' N DAY (TIMARU) TROT
BACARDI PRIDE - broke after 150 metres losing its chance.
LAVRA SEGIL - broke at the start but soon settled.
REINDEER TROUBLE - when spoken to regarding the improved performance trainer M Heenan stated that the mare had been travelling well before galloping in the run home at its previous start and had trialled well leading into the event so he had expected a forward showing.
EMMA LOUISE - trainer M Edmonds was warned for presenting EMMA LOUISE without the notified pacifier. Broke at the start settling at the rear. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners.
JESPER FAST - fractious prior to the start. Broke at the start losing considerable ground.
TINTED STUART - broke near the 1200 metres and trailed the field. The gelding was subsequently stood down until it trials satisfactorily on one occasion.
ROYAL DIEDRE - hampered by a breaking runner entering the first turn.
MICKEY D - reared at the start and was slow to begin. Weakened from the 600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
FLYIN SID - broke at the start and trailed the field throughout.
ANDOVERFIST - trotted roughly shortly after the start and was slow early. Broke near the 1700 metres losing ground before settling.
ACTION PACKED - slow to begin and hampered by a breaking runner over the early stages.
MAGNIFIQUE DIMANCHE - driver K Cox reported that the filly had over-raced throughout causing her some difficulty.
Race 3   LASER ELECTRICAL TIMARU MOBILE PACE
HIRANYA - shifted out rounding the final turn when leading.
AJIRA - when questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
HEY TONIGHT - trainer B Ward was warned for not having the correct colours available for his runners today.
FLY LIKA FALCON - over-raced middle stages.
SPARK IT UP - broke passing the 600 metres losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly.
ELIZA DAVOLTA - unable to maintain its position despite the efforts of driver K Newman and was back a length at dispatch. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier record.
HILDA MAUD - unable to maintain its position despite the efforts of driver J Morrison and was back a length at dispatch. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial from a mobile.
BLACKJACK ROAD - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. Stood down for mobile start events pending a satisfactory trial. Weakened from the 600 metres.
Race 4   BROSNAN'S TRANSPORT LTD PASSING LANE PACE
SELSEY BILL - breasted the barrier strand after a delay to the start causing a further delay. Broke at the start and galloped a considerable distance before settling.
MISS MARKLE - shifted in shortly after the start briefly hampering an inside runner. Held up final bend.
PURE COURAGE - broke at the start settling towards the rear. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
REFORMED - held up early stages of the run home.
TWILIGHT BROMAC - held up final bend and early stages of the run home.
GRINNING AGAIN - delayed the start when becoming fractious. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened from the 600 metres.
ELOEL - briefly hampered shortly after the start . Held up final bend.
CHEEKYGRIN - over-raced middle stages.
SOPHIE - trainer J McDermott was cautioned for presenting SOPHIE without the correct saddlecloth number. Hampered by the breaking PURE COURAGE shortly after the start.
PHONE TAP - driver J Young-Grant reported she had been unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the release cord becoming entangled.
Race 5   MORRISON'S SADDLERY & FEED TROT
The start of this race was delayed several minutes at the request of the TAB.
ZSAHARA - broke at the start losing ground before settling. Checked by the breaking GOOSE HEALY and had to take evasive action approaching the winning post on the first occasion.
GOOSE HEALY - broke shortly after the start and settled at the rear. Weakened from the 600 metres.
SHIFFTY - over-raced middle stages.
SONOMA TYRON - broke at the start and settled at the rear.
MOONS WAY - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
DANANGUS FELLA - hampered shortly after the start by the breaking SONOMA TYRON.
Trainer P O'Reilly advised Stewards on 8 October that SONOMA TYRON is being treated for a throat infection since last racing.
Race 6   WELCOME RICKY DONNELLY STARTER AT TIMARU PACE
POCKET CALL - delayed the start when kicking over a hopple connecting strap.
ART COLLECTOR - over-raced middle stages. Held up rounding the final turn.
ALLANDALE - slow to begin.
JUSTACE - broke at the start and settled at the rear.
KINGSDOWN ATOM - broke at the start and settled at the rear.
ROSIES TERROR - broke at the start and trailed the field throughout. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial from a stand.
JUST MICHAEL - weakened near the 600 metres.
Race 7   20 NOV 'BOOK YOUR XMAS PARTY AT PHAR LAP' MOBILE PACE
PRECIOUS SARA - over-raced middle stages. Driver J Dunn reported he did not activate the sliding blinds due to having the field covered.
MY MATE BEN - raced keenly middle stages. Driver S Iremonger reported the gelding had been striking a sulky wheel throughout.
MARTIN JOHN - tended to shift outwards on straightening for the run home.
Race 8   KEN PIERCY MEMORIAL PACE
SHARDS FURY - broke at the start losing ground before settling.
SKY VALE - broke at the start and settled at the rear. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
UNCLE CHAN - tangled for several strides at the start.
INVALUABLE - driver B Orange was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion on several occasions early in the run home.
Race 9   EQUINE VETERINARY SERVICES HANDICAP TROT
DD'S SUPER STUART - held up for clear running throughout the home straight.
REGAL APPOINTMENT - over-raced middle stages. Subsequent to the race trainer G Smith reported the gelding was lame in the near fore leg which he would have treated. Stewards will follow up on the condition of the horse in the coming days.
ALVIRA HEST - held up final bend.
JACCKA JEORGE - broke over the early stages losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the standing start manners of the gelding. Over-raced middle stages.
WINNING BONES - commenced to weaken final turn. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver M Williamson advised that the gelding had not been suited to racing without cover.
Race 10   NEXT MEETING SATURDAY 20 NOVEMBER MOBILE PACE
LOCKED OUT OF HEAVEN - raced wide early stages. Weakened final bend.
REINIMIN PATRON - raced keenly from the middle stages. Held up throughout the run home. Driver M Williamson reported he had been unable to activate the sliding blinds as a result.
