Race 3 - HARRISON BLOY (JUNIOR DRIVERS) PACE
Junior driver D Keast (EASTWOOD ISABELLA) who declined the assistance of a Senior driver, admitted driving carelessly near the 900 metres when allowing his horse to strike the sulky wheel of ART COLLECTOR causing his own horse to break with trailing runners also being checked. After hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $350. Mr Keast was also warned for using his whip free of the rein on one occasion in the home straight.

Race 4 - SWEET LOU "THE BEST IS YET TO COME" MOBILE PACE
Trainer J Cox advised Stewards on 24 September that LECONTE as well as MAYBE (Race 7) and SPORTSCAM (Race 8) underwent blood tests today which revealed that all three horses were suffering from high stress levels and dehydration and would now be treated accordingly.

Race 1   ADDINGTON NEWS - EVERY WEDNESDAY MOBILE PACE
JOURNO - lay inwards in the score up and was back slightly at the candy pole. Briefly held up leaving the final bend.
THE ARTFUL DODGER - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver A Cameron. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Hung inwards in the run home before breaking near the 100 metres. A post-race veterinary and endoscopic examination confirmed the gelding not to be a bleeder after returning to the stabling area with a small amount of blood present in the right nostril. In addition to this the horse was cleared of any lameness. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding with trainer B Hill in the coming days.
MIGHTY REACTOR - trainer B Mowbray was issued with a warning for presenting the gelding without the notified blinds. Held up for clear racing room in the run home. Driver M Williamson reported the removable deafeners were not activated in consequence.
BOOM - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
TIEBREAKER - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
STYX SWEETIE - briefly held up leaving the final bend. Lay outwards in the run home.
GLIDING AWAY - lay inwards when improving wide through the middle stages. Weakened leaving the final bend.
Trainer B Hill advised Stewards on 30 September that THE ARTFUL DODGER has been treated for a nasal discharge and will be freshened prior to resuming.
Race 2   McMILLAN EQUINE FEEDS FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
PAMPELONNE - weakened over the concluding stages. When spoken to regarding the performance driver G Smith advised he was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary and endoscopic examination revealed a slow recovery and discharge in the trachea with the Veterinarian recommending treatment with antibiotics. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the filly with trainer T Yesberg in the coming days.
MITSI GAYNOR - held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
STOKED TO HAVER - trainer C Kennedy advised Stewards on 7 October that the filly has been treated for a respiratory infection since last racing.
AMORE VITA - hung outwards in the score up and was out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver J Dunn.
SNOW ROBYN - raced keenly through the middle stages. Paced roughly in the run home.
HIKOI HINE - hung inwards and struck several track markers near the 1500 metres. Under pressure from the 1000 metes losing contact with the body of the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the mare.
FLIGHT PLAN - weakened final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance driver T Williams advised he was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be making abnormal respiratory noises on return to the stabling area following the race. The connections advised that the filly will be examined in the coming days by their Veterinarian and would be sent for a spell before resuming.
Trainer T Yesberg advised Stewards on 29 September that PAMPELONNE is being treated for mucus in its lungs and is having a brief spell in consequence.
Race 3   IRT. YOUR HORSE. OUR PASSION. 3YO MOBILE TROT
INSTANT DELIGHT - Stewards questioned driver S Boyd as to whether he could have made a greater effort to maintain his position behind HARBOUR QUEEN approaching the first bend after WANNA PLAY WITH ME was able to improve inwards ahead of INSTANT DELIGHT. Mr Boyd advised it had been his intention to race in a forward position however after being crossed by two runners at the start his filly had commenced to trot roughly and he was reluctant to place her under any pressure as he felt she may have broken. After hearing from Mr Boyd, Stewards took the matter no further. Mr Boyd was also spoken to advisedly to ensure he breaks up his use of the whip with alternative actions in the run home.
FLYIN SID - trainer T Chmiel was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for presenting the gelding to race without the notified half hopples and pacifier. Broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts at the trainer's request. Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages. Broke near the 900 metres losing ground.
MURANO - hung inwards and trotted roughly final bend.
MAUI - lay inwards in the early stages of the run home.
HARBOUR QUEEN - briefly held up in the early stages of the run home.
ROYAL DEL - late scratching at 12.05pm with a Veterinary certificate provided.
WANNA PLAY WITH ME - driver T Williams advised the removable deafeners were not activated due to having the field covered.
Race 4   AVON CITY FORD HANDICAP TROT
I DREAM OF JEANNIE - broke at the start losing ground.
MADELEINE STOWE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 900 metres.
SODS LAW - hampered by a breaking runner near the 900 metres.
EMDEEGEE - trotted roughly on various occasions during the running. Hung inwards and broke passing the 900 metres after striking several track markers hampering trailing runners. The undercheck clip on the gelding detached from the girth passing the 1900 metres and hung loose for the remainder of the race. After inspecting the gear trainer D Simpson was found not to be at fault with Stewards taking the matter no further.
ONE OVER ALL - over-raced middle stages.
PUZZLED - Stewards investigated a possible breach of the Push Out Rule near the 1400 metres after the improving WOODSTONE was obliged to race wider on the track. After viewing the replays it was established that PUZZLED had shifted outwards prior to WOODSTONE reaching its sulky wheel and accordingly no further action was deemed necessary. Broke passing the 800 metres after striking the sulky wheel of ESCARGO and lost ground. Stewards questioned junior driver K Newman (assisted by G Smith) regarding this, after which it was established that Mr Newman had shifted his runner wider on the track approaching the 850 metres to avoid crowding an inside runner which had shifted outwards from behind the breaking EMDEEGEE however PUZZLED had commenced to race keenly and became awkwardly placed close to the sulky of ESCARGO despite Mr Newman's efforts. After considering the matter, Stewards were satisfied Mr Newman was not fully responsible for this incident and took the matter no further other than to remind him to exercise greater care when in similar circumstances.
WOODSTONE - over-raced middle stages. Driver J Dunn reported he did not activate the removable deafeners or sliding blinds due to having the field covered.
Race 5   LAMB & HAYWARD HANDICAP PACE
KATHERINE - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Had to shift wider on the track in the early and middle stages of the run home to obtain clear running.
ARTATAC - lay outwards throughout the run home when under pressure.
TAUMATA VC - broke at the start. Weakened final bend.
THE KAIK - began awkwardly. Weakened from the 500 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with trainer K Butt regarding the progress of the gelding in the coming days.
HOMEBUSH LAD - had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room over the concluding stages.
SOMEKINDAWONDERFUL - lay inwards passing the 150 metres and had to be steadied.
Trainer K Butt advised Stewards on 28 September that THE KAIK has recovered well following its performance at Addington last week adding that in her opinion the gelding will derive benefit from the run.
Race 6   SPECTATORS BAR - NEW SPECIALS! 2YO MOBILE PACE
NICK OF TIME - over-raced for a distance passing the 1200 metres. Driver S Boyd was warned for using his whip free of the rein passing the 100 metres.
MAN UNITED - paced roughly passing the 1300 metres and lost ground. Lay outwards in the run home before pacing roughly over the concluding stages.
I'M YOUR HUCKLEBERRY - weakened in the early stages of the run home. When spoken to regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised he was very disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. The connections advised they would have blood tests taken in the coming days and would notify Stewards of the results.
SWAGGER MAN - hung outwards in the early stages of the run home and shifted up the track. Driver D White was reminded of his obligations to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
CYA DOIT - forced to race four wide passing the 700 metres and was steadied before hanging inwards. Continued to lay inwards throughout the run home.
EXECUTIVE BANNER - lay inwards when improving forward to challenge for the lead passing the 1400 metres. Weakened final bend.
Stable representative J Dunn advised Stewards on 29 September that blood tests taken from I'M YOUR HUCKLEBERRY revealed no abnormalities with the gelding continuing with its current preparation.
Race 7   GRAPHITE DEVELOPMENTS LTD FUTURITY PRELUDE MOBILE PACE
NIKKI NOTO - held up early stages of the run home.
BIG MAMA MORRIS - hung in the score up and paced roughly and was out of position at the start. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts. Broke passing the 2350 metres and shifted outwards hampering a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. Continued to pace roughly throughout. Weakened final bend.
ASIAN ELVIS - late scratching at 7.55pm on Veterinary advice due to being lame in the preliminary. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance.
CLASSIE WASHINGTON - driver T Chmiel defended a charge alleging he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight. During the course of the hearing Mr Chmiel elected to change his plea and admit the charge. After considering penalty submissions Mr Chmiel's driver's licence was suspended by the Adjudicative Committee from the conclusion of racing on 26 September up to and including 7 October 2021 (3 days).
MR MCLAREN - raced keenly through the middle stages. Driver K Larsen was spoken to advisedly to make a greater effort to prevent his horse from trailing too closely to the runner in advance of him. Lay outwards in the run home.
LANCEWOOD LOUIE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 2350 metres. Lay inwards when improving wide on the track from the 500 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance trainer P Kerr advised that considering the fast last sectionals of the race combined with the horse having to improve wide, he was not disappointed with the effort of the gelding.
Race 8   NZ HORSE AMBULANCE TRUST FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
SHARDS IN MANHATTAN - broke briefly in the score up however was in position at the start.
SIMPLY DELICIOUS - over-raced early stages. Locked wheels for a short distance with DARLING ME passing the 1000 metres with both runners losing momentum. Weakened final bend.
JAZELLE - crowded near the 200 metres and had to be steadied for a short distance when an inside runner shifted outwards.
DARLING ME - locked wheels for a short distance with SIMPLY DELICIOUS passing the 1000 metres with both runners losing momentum.
PLUTONIUM LADY - raced wide early stages. Over-raced middle stages.
STYLISH MEMPHIS - raced wide early stages.
KERRI MAGUIRE - held up late in the run home. Shifted out passing the 200 metres briefly hampering an outside runner. Driver J Dunn was spoken to and advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground.
Race 9   XCM SPORT MOBILE PACE
UNCLE CHAN - held up by a weakening runner final bend.
LITTLE MISS PERFECT - hung outwards over the concluding stages and had to be corrected by its driver.
LULU LE MANS - the required veterinary clearance was received.
SUPERBASS - when questioned regarding the improved performance driver T Williams reported the gelding had been unlucky in recent starts and had appreciated the removal of the murphy blind as notified after its last start which had made the gelding more tractable during the running tonight. Mr Williams added the horse had appreciated returning to its preferred racing style of leading.
MIKEY MAGUIRE - raced wide early stages. Weakened final bend.
JACK RYAN - over-raced middle stages. Held up final bend. Paced roughly and hung outwards in the run home.
GIVEMEWHATINEED - over-raced from the 1100 metres after improving wide to obtain the parked position. Weakened leaving the final bend.
Race 10   DAKINS GROUP MOBILE TROT
KD HAWK - trotted roughly early stages. Again trotted roughly rounding the final bend and throughout the home straight with driver B Butt being unable to fully drive out the gelding.
BRYAN BORU - checked passing the 2400 metres and had to be steadied. Knuckled over passing the 1400 metres and trotted roughly for a short distance.
PRINCE ENVY - broke in the score up losing all chance and was retired from the race. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
TYENE - trotted roughly through the early stages. Broke near the 2400 metres checking trailing runners and lost all chance before being retired from the race. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
IDLE STUARTIA - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Weakened final bend.
RACHMANINOV - weakened final bend.
ZEALOUS SPUR - checked near the 2400 metres and had to be steadied. Trotted roughly final bend.
FAITH NO MORE - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
LUMINOSITY - checked near the 2400 metres and had to be steadied. Raced keenly middle stages.
Race 11   FIRST DIRECT TAXIS MOBILE PACE
BEST TRIO - driver M Jones was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight.
HEAVEN ON HIGH - junior driver B Hope (assisted by G Smith) was spoken to advisedly for the manner he drove rounding the first bend when easing the speed of the race when racing in the parked position causing trailing runners to be inconvenienced. Lay inwards on various occasions during the running.
ALL TOGETHER NOW - inconvenienced rounding the first bend and had to be steadied. Over-raced early and middle stages.
TAURUS BROMAC - inconvenienced rounding the first bend and had to be steadied.
FLY LIKA FALCON - driver G Smith admitted using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the early stages of the home straight and was fined $200 by the Adjudicative Committee.
ANGUS - inconvenienced rounding the first bend and had to be steadied. Over-raced for a distance passing the 1500 metres. Weakened final bend. Stewards investigated a possible breach of the Push Out Rule near the 1050 metres when the improving ALL TOGETHER NOW briefly raced wider on the track. After reviewing the replays it was established that ANGUS had commenced its outwards shift prior to ALL TOGETHER NOW reaching its sulky wheel and no further action was deemed necessary. When spoken to regarding the performance trainer/driver S Boyd reported the gelding had over-raced during the running and had worked hard in the middle stages to improve its position which had contributed to the overall performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
