TWILIGHT BROMAC - briefly contacted an inside runner just prior to the start and shifted outwards. | |
SELSY BILL - shifted outwards at the start and then broke. Hung outwards rounding the first bend and raced wide on the track despite the efforts of driver S Ottley. Stewards lodged a Request for a Ruling under Rule 213(1)(j) to determine whether SELSY BILL was denied a fair start after driver S Ottley advised the gelding had been hampered prior to the start resulting in her runner breaking. After hearing evidence from Stewards, driver S Ottley and viewing the films, the Adjudicative Committee determined that SELSY BILL had been denied a fair start and was declared a non-runner. | |

Shifted outwards as the start was effected checking an outside runner before commencing to buck with the gelding then breaking for a considerable distance in the early stages. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial from a stand. Weakened final bend. | |

CODY BANNER - trotted roughly from the 800 metres when attempting to improve its position. Broke briefly passing the 100 metres. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when breaking in the run home. | |

TASMAN TEMPEST - a false start was declared when TASMAN TEMPEST broke in the score up checking an outside runner. Driver S O'Reilly elected to remain in her allocated barrier position for the re-start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. | |

ROBYNS PLAYBOY - driver C Ferguson was spoken to advisedly to ensure he reduces the speed of his runner in a more gradual manner when restraining in an attempt to obtain cover racing into the first bend. | |
LAVER - Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule near the 2400 metres when LAVER was racing to the inside of HENRY HUBERT. After viewing the replays and hearing from driver G O'Reilly it was established that the gelding had always been in a three wide position approaching the first bend and had not forced HENRY HUBERT wider on the track. Accordingly Stewards took the matter no further. |

NED KELLY - paced roughly racing into the first bend and had to be steadied. Hung outwards throughout the run home and shifted up the track despite the efforts of driver J Dunn. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Mr Dunn advised he would be recommending gear changes. When spoken to regarding the improved performance driver J Dunn advised that the horse had performed well two starts ago prior to weakening at its last start after breaking in the early stages. He added that the stable was at a loss to explain that performance however the horse had worked well leading into today's race and received a favourable run throughout. Mr Dunn was warned for the manner he drove after the finish line when attempting to correct his hanging runner. | |

APATCHOFGOLD - over-raced and raced wide in the early stages. Continued to over-race through the middle stages. Paced roughly near the 850 metres. Hung outwards on the final bend and in the early stages of the run home before shifting up the track abruptly passing the 150 metres despite the efforts of driver T Williams.
