Race 1   OAMARU HARNESS RACING CLUB MOBILE PACE
PIXIE - lay inwards final bend losing ground. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
FOURTH AMENDMENT - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained towards the rear of the field. Paced roughly approaching the 400 metres.
Race 2   NORTH OTAGO H.R. ASSN TROT
OUR PINOCCHIO - broke at the start losing ground.
HANOVER DA MOON - trotted roughly racing into the first bend and had to be steadied. Lay inwards in the run home and contacted TAIMATE SASS on several occasions despite the efforts of driver J Dunn.
CHEEKY MONKEY - broke after 100 metres losing all chance.
EILISH HALL - trotted roughly in the run home.
GALLEONS AMBASSADOR - trotted roughly through the early stages losing ground. Continued to trot roughly for the remainder of the race.
REINDEER TROUBLE - broke passing the 150 metres.
TINTED STUART - broke racing into the first bend losing all chance. Stood down pending one satisfactory trial.
TAIMATE SASS - contacted by HANOVER DA MOON on several occasions in the run home. Driver S Ottley advised Stewards that she was satisfied that this did not affect her chances of winning.
ADITI - trotted roughly through the middle stages losing ground. Cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
Race 3   OAMARU CLUB INC PACE
PURE COURAGE - broke at the start. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
TWILIGHT BROMAC - briefly contacted an inside runner just prior to the start and shifted outwards.
SELSY BILL - shifted outwards at the start and then broke. Hung outwards rounding the first bend and raced wide on the track despite the efforts of driver S Ottley. Stewards lodged a Request for a Ruling under Rule 213(1)(j) to determine whether SELSY BILL was denied a fair start after driver S Ottley advised the gelding had been hampered prior to the start resulting in her runner breaking. After hearing evidence from Stewards, driver S Ottley and viewing the films, the Adjudicative Committee determined that SELSY BILL had been denied a fair start and was declared a non-runner.
REFORMED - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
HUCKABEE - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
WESTAR MOLLY - lay inwards throughout the run home.
Race 4   WILLIAMSON RACING STABLES TROT
The start was delayed due to the enquiry in the previous race.
BOURBON ON THE ROCKS - weakened final bend.
MAUI - fractious prior to the start before making contact with the barrier strand causing a delay. Shifted outwards as the start was effected checking an outside runner before commencing to buck with the gelding then breaking for a considerable distance in the early stages. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial from a stand. Weakened final bend.
SHIFFTY - checked by an inside runner at the start losing ground.
CODY BANNER - trotted roughly from the 800 metres when attempting to improve its position. Broke briefly passing the 100 metres. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when breaking in the run home.
TOP POCKET CHANCE - paced away and had to be broken up by its driver losing several lengths. Trotted roughly in the middle stages. Broke passing the 400 metres losing considerable ground and was retired from the event.
UNDER AND OVER - lay inwards throughout the run home.
Race 5   ONE SMART COFFEE (JUNIOR DRIVERS) MOBILE PACE
ASIAN ELVIS - when spoken to regarding the performance driver G Thornley reported the entire had become stirred up as a result of the false start which had contributed to the overall performance.
TASMAN TEMPEST - a false start was declared when TASMAN TEMPEST broke in the score up checking an outside runner. Driver S O'Reilly elected to remain in her allocated barrier position for the re-start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
SNEAK A PEEK - over-raced middle stages.
VON ART - junior driver K Bublitz (assisted by M Williamson) was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
MIGHTY REACTOR - paced roughly racing into the first bend and had to be steadied. Held up for clear racing room in the run home and paced roughly.
SOCRATES - driver K Newman reported the sliding blinds were not activated due to having the field covered.
Race 6   PLUNKET ELECTRICAL OAMARU MOBILE PACE
SISTER'S DELIGHT - weakened final bend.
OLIVER NORTH - held up final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
FRANCO HOFFMAN - over-raced middle stages.
JACK RYAN - weakened in the early stages of the run home. When spoken to regarding the performance driver B Hope reported the gelding had worked hard in the middle stages to improve to the parked position however he was still slightly disappointed with the effort.
PAY ME VISA - held up early stages of the run home.
Race 7   DAVID OVENS BUILDING HANDICAP TROT
B D YASOTHON - broke briefly at the start. Lay inwards throughout the run home. Driver R May admitted a breach of the Push Out Rule when he shifted outwards near the 1650 metres causing SPRINGBANK MASON to race wider on the track with the Adjudicative Committee imposing a fine of $200.
COUNT EYRE - briefly held up in the middle stages of the run home.
RED HARBOUR - broke briefly at the start.
SPRINGBANK MASON - began awkwardly and was slow to begin. Forced to race wider on the track near the 1650 metres when B D YASOTHON shifted outwards. Trotted roughly at various stages throughout.
SIOUX PRINCESS - over-raced middle stages.
Race 8   PLACEMAKERS HANNON MEMORIAL (STAND PACE)
PEMBROOK PLAYBOY - held up throughout the run home. Driver N Williamson reported he had not activated the removable deafeners in consequence.
STYLISH MEMPHIS - briefly held up leaving the final bend. Driver R May reported he had not activated the removable deafeners in consequence.
CRANBOURNE - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
HENRY HUBERT - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
THAT ALEXANDER GUY - tangled away.
ROBYNS PLAYBOY - driver C Ferguson was spoken to advisedly to ensure he reduces the speed of his runner in a more gradual manner when restraining in an attempt to obtain cover racing into the first bend.
LAVER - Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule near the 2400 metres when LAVER was racing to the inside of HENRY HUBERT. After viewing the replays and hearing from driver G O'Reilly it was established that the gelding had always been in a three wide position approaching the first bend and had not forced HENRY HUBERT wider on the track. Accordingly Stewards took the matter no further.
Race 9   PLACEMAKERS MOBILE PACE
FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ - held up final bend.
PETE'S DASH - weakened final bend.
NED KELLY - paced roughly racing into the first bend and had to be steadied. Hung outwards throughout the run home and shifted up the track despite the efforts of driver J Dunn. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Mr Dunn advised he would be recommending gear changes. When spoken to regarding the improved performance driver J Dunn advised that the horse had performed well two starts ago prior to weakening at its last start after breaking in the early stages. He added that the stable was at a loss to explain that performance however the horse had worked well leading into today's race and received a favourable run throughout. Mr Dunn was warned for the manner he drove after the finish line when attempting to correct his hanging runner.
PLAYBOY PRINCE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
APATCHOFGOLD - over-raced and raced wide in the early stages. Continued to over-race through the middle stages. Paced roughly near the 850 metres. Hung outwards on the final bend and in the early stages of the run home before shifting up the track abruptly passing the 150 metres despite the efforts of driver T Williams. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly.
WEE RING THE CHANGES - weakened final bend.
STEPHS BOY - forced wider leaving the final bend and in the run home by an inside runner.
Race 10   T K HIRE HANDICAP PACE
KATHERINE - broke at the start losing ground.
MIDFREW LUISIANABEAU - broke at the start losing ground.
DODGETHEBULLET - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Held up final bend.
CHAMPAGNEANDWINE - held up final bend by weakening runners and lost ground as a result.
THE KAIK - held up final bend by weakening runners and lost ground as a result.
CHUCKLES - held up final bend by weakening runners and lost ground as a result.
MAJOR PUNTER - broke at the start losing ground. Raced three wide from the 1200 metres before being forced to race four wide from the 900 metres. Weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. The connections advised the gelding had hung throughout and they would give consideration to sending the horse for a spell before resuming.
BUCKSKIN - raced wide from the 1400 metres and without cover from the 1200 metres. Weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
BOARDING CALL - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
