Invercargill HRC - Thursday, 25th March 2021
Race 6 - MCKNIGHT & BROWN MOBILE PACE
Driver K Barclay (A TASTE OF HONEY) defended a charge that she drove in a manner capable of diminishing her horse's chances of winning by failing to ease her drive during the middle stages. After hearing the evidence and viewing the films the Adjudicative Committee amended the charge to Rule 868(2) that Ms Barclay failed to take all reasonable and permissible measures between the 1600 metres and 1100 metres to ensure that her horse A TASTE OF HONEY was given full opportunity to win or obtain the best possible finishing position. Ms Barclay admitted this charge and after hearing penalty submissions, her licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing on 25th July up to and including the 12th August. (6 days).
