Race 1   FAHEY FENCE HIRE (AMATEUR DRIVERS) MOBILE PACE
REINIMIN PATRON - driver M Maynard was advised to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course when activating gear in the home straight.
MOTORING MAJOR - checked near the 700 metres by the breaking SHE'S A DAGG. Held up early stages of the run home. Crowded near the 150 metres and had to be steadied after BOLZANO hung outwards and shifted up the track marginally.
DISMARA - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Raced fiercely throughout. Hampered near the 700 metres.
SHE'S A DAGG - approaching the 700 metres attempted to push WEE RING THE CHANGES wider on the track however broke after contacting the sulky of BOLZANO when shifting back inwards causing the mare to lose ground with trailing runners being checked. Driver C Wigg (assisted by N Williamson) admitted driving carelessly in this incident and after viewing the films and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.
BOLZANO - out of position at the start. Driver A Edge was issued with a warning. Paced roughly approaching the 1600 metres when there was an easing of the pace. Shifted up the track marginally near the 150 metres hampering an outside runner.
FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver C Negus. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver C Negus was issued with a warning for her lack of control when loose reining in the run home.
EDGE SHEERAN - weakened final bend.
Race 2   SPECTATORS $16 KIWI ICONIC ROAST TROT
MYSHOUT - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Weakened from the 700 metres.
RUSH - trotted roughly and broke near the 400 metres hampering a trailing runner.
SHIFFTY - had the bit burr removed prior to the start. Raced keenly middle stages. Hampered near the 400 metres.
MILLIE'S GIFT - slow in the early stages. Driver N Williamson reported the mare had trotted roughly throughout.
Race 3   DAKINS GROUP WINTER REGIONAL RACING SERIES MOBILE PACE
ALEXY - broke near the 1500 metres checking a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Paced roughly and weakened from the 500 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lacerations to both knees and was treated by the on course Veterinarian. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
HELLO ADELE - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer P Beveridge advised that the mare had derived considerable improvement from its fresh up run on 15 July and that today's event represented a significant drop in class.
ALLANDALE - raced wide early stages. Over-raced middle stages.
HES FAST AND FURIOUS - hampered near the 1500 metres by a breaking runner.
RIN TIN TIN - checked and broke for a short distance near the 1500 metres. Held up throughout the final straight.
Race 4   HORNBY LIQUOR CENTRE PACE
ALL TOGETHER NOW - broke at the start and shifted outwards losing ground. Hung inwards in the run home.
SHEEZAGOLDENGIRL - broke at the start losing ground.
ARCHIE - paced roughly near the 500 metres when shifting wider on the track in an attempt to improve its position. Continued to pace roughly rounding the final bend losing ground.
GLITZ AND GLAM - hampered final bend by a weakening runner. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight. Driver J Dunn reported he did not activate the removable deafeners.
SEARING LIGHT - over-raced middle stages. Lay inwards under pressure on the final bend and dislodged several track markers when weakening. Driver K Barron was warned for using his whip when out of contention. Mr Barron was also spoken to advisedly for using his whip free of the rein in the early stages of the run home.
GET OUTTA TOWN - made contact with the sulky wheel of ROCKNROLL DIVA near the 150 metres. Held up for clear racing room over the concluding stages. Stewards questioned driver R Close regarding this incident who advised that after committing to an available run in the early stages of the home straight, runners either side of him had shifted ground marginally resulting in him becoming awkwardly placed behind ROCKNROLL DIVA. Stewards accepted Mr Close's explanation.
WHITE SHARK - weakened final bend.
ROCKNROLL DIVA - raced wide early stages. Hung outwards in the home straight.
ASIAN ELVIS - over-raced middle stages. Hung inwards in the early stages of the home straight and had to be corrected by driver S Ottley. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards had viewed the replays and were satisfied the entire had not gained an advantage when shifting ground inwards into the passing lane to avoid a breaking runner at the start.
Race 5   AVON CITY FORD MOBILE PACE
FROSTY RECEPTION - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Weakened over the concluding stages.
KANSAS CITY JIM - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
LECONTE - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
IT'S ME - paced roughly early stages. Driver S Thornley reported he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
TIGER LOU - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Held up by a weakening runner final bend.
HONOUR BEFORE GLORY - driver R Close reported the mare had hung outwards throughout the home straight and shifted up the track despite his efforts.
BELLE'S BOY - weakened final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance driver J Dunn could offer no explanation and had been disappointed with the effort. Trainer M Purvis advised he was also disappointed with the performance and added that the gelding may be better suited to racing over a shorter distance.
LINCOLN SKIPPER - broke racing into the first bend hampering trailing runners and lost all chance before being retired from the race. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
AUCHTERCAIRN - held up in the early stages of the run home.
MAGIC SIGN - lay inwards throughout the run home.
EL DORADO - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Raced wide until improving to the lead near the 1800 metres.
Race 6   MID-WINTER AT ADDINGTON- 6 AUGUST MOBILE PACE
BEEPS - weakened final bend.
THE GREENKEEPER - broke near the 1650 metres losing its chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record.
Race 7   LAMB & HAYWARD TROT
SALLY LINDENNY - broke approaching the 2000 metres losing ground. Weakened final bend.
GREENBANK BETTY - hung inwards racing into the first bend and struck several track markers. Lay outwards in the final straight.
MONARO MAKO - weakened final bend.
KENNY KEKO - raced wide throughout. Weakened near the 700 metres.
GOTTA TICKET - broke near the 1550 metres. Weakened final bend. Broke again passing the 200 metres.
SOUTH PARK - weakened leaving the final bend.
UNIQUE ROSE - raced wide early stages. Weakened near the 600 metres.
MICHELLE - broke racing into the first bend after jumping a track marker which had been dislodged losing all chance.
MAKE MY SUNDON - raced wide with cover through the early and middle stages.
LISTEN EASY - driver K Barron was warned for using his whip free of the rein on one occasion in the home straight.
FAITH NO MORE - broke approaching the 700 metres losing all chance.
Race 8   NZB STANDARDBRED MOBILE PACE
UNCHANGED MEMORY - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver M Herbert. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Hung inwards and paced roughly from the 500 metres having to be restrained and was removed from the event by driver M Herbert. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the right hind leg and was stood down pending a Veterinary clearance.
GREENBACK BOOGIE - weakened final bend.
JUSTACE - hung inwards in the early stages of the run home.
CONQUISTADOR - broke in the score up losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Paced roughly at various stages during the running. Crowded near the 500 metres and broke. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
ADHARA - weakened final bend. Driver A Stewart reported she dropped her whip passing the 1800 metres.
CORFU BROMAC - weakened final bend.
ROZHA - over-raced passing the 1000 metres. Held up final bend. Driver S Anderson was spoken to advisedly for the manner he drove near the 500 metres when briefly crowding an inside runner.
Race 9   FIRST DIRECT TAXIS PACE
The start was delayed due to the gear on PAY ME VISA requiring attention.
LITTLE GEE - held up final bend.
KENNEDY - raced fiercely in the early stages until gaining a covered position near the 1600 metres. Continued to over-race through the middle stages causing driver C DeFilippi difficulty.
PROTEUS - weakened final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance trainer/driver G Smith advised that the horse had been unsuited to leading into the prevailing strong winds with the effort taking its toll on the gelding.
VESNINA - trainer R Dunn was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice after the mare was presented and raced without the notified anti choke device. Raced wide with cover from the 1300 metres. Paced roughly on the final bend and had to be steadied losing ground. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Dunn could offer no explanation.
A ROCKNROLL STAR - shifted inwards and broke briefly at the start. Raced wide with cover from the 1300 metres. Hampered on the final bend and had to shift very wide to improve. Driver S O'Reilly reported the gelding had locked on one rein rounding the final bend causing her some difficulty. When spoken to regarding the performance Miss O'Reilly advised that after the horse had raced three wide for a considerable period she had not been disappointed with the effort and was of the opinion that as the gelding was having its first start back from a spell would derive benefit from the race.
MEGAROCK - late scratching at 4.05pm on veterinary advice due to being lame in the preliminary. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance.
JENABELLA - held up final bend.
PAY ME VISA - held up final bend.
TAKE AFTER ME - trainer F Scott was issued with a warning after the gelding was presented and raced with removable deafeners which had not been notified. Raced wide without cover from the 1400 metres. Weakened final bend.
