Race 1   NZB STANDARDBRED TROT
TINTED STUART - trotted roughly then broke when under pressure on the final bend. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
GALLEONS DEVOTION - shifted outwards when the barriers were released causing REPEAT PAT and MISSY NOVA to be taken wider.
REPEAT PAT - hampered in the early stages. Lay in and trotted roughly throughout the run home.
MISSY NOVA - hampered in the early stages then trotted roughly and had to be steadied losing ground.
GINAS MAJESTY - trotted roughly on the final bend.
INSTANT DELIGHT - raced wide early stages.
SEE IT THRU - slow to begin and in the early stages.
NIGHT WATCH - over-raced middle stages.
SHIFFTY - raced wide early stages.
MOONS WAY - broke after 100 metres losing all chance.
Race 2   PI & GJ KENNARD BLOODSTOCK LTD FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
STYX SWEETIE - hung outwards in the final straight and had to be corrected by driver J Curtin. Trainer J Curtin advised Stewards on 14 July that STYX SWEETIE has had its knees injected since last racing.
ZIA BROMAC - gave ground final bend.
SPORTY CELINE - over-raced middle stages. Lay inwards early and middle stages of the run home.
EVANGALIST - lay in final bend and throughout the run home.
KEISHA - when questioned regarding the improved performance stable representative J Dunn advised the horse had trialed very well in preparation and was better suited to racing left handed compared to recent racing right handed where the filly had accumulated her poor form.
HAITI FRANCO - weakened passing the 600 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance driver C Thornley could offer no explanation and advised he was very disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Race 3   LAMB & HAYWARD PACE
VESNINA - paced roughly throughout the run home. Stewards questioned driver J Dunn regarding the manner he drove on the first bend when ASHES OF DESIRE was able to shift inwards to the trailing position. Mr Dunn explained that as evidenced through the mare's gait in the run home when pressured she was prone to racing roughly so felt it in his best interests not to pressure her at this stage.
SHE'S A DAGG - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record.
ASHES OF DESIRE - over-raced middle stages.
KENNEDY - briefly hampered at the top of the straight by an inside runner.
PENELOPE BROMAC - broke at the start.
SAFE ZONE - slow to begin. Stewards questioned driver D Roberts regarding his position at the start. Mr Roberts explained that his mare had previously raced roughly in the early stages from standing starts however until seeing the films had not been aware he was so far out of position. A warning was placed on Mr Roberts record.
Race 4   HRS CONSTRUCTION MOBILE PACE
UNCHANGED MEMORY - held up final bend. Stewards spoke to driver M Herbert in relation to the horse striking track markers on the final bend. Mr Herbert advised that the gelding had been over-racing and proving difficult. Notwithstanding this he was cautioned for allowing his horse to shift inwards and contact track markers prior to the passing lane.
ROSIES TERROR - driver S O'Reilly reported the deafeners were not released due to the cord breaking. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
CORFU BROMAC - raced wide early stages.
SEARING LIGHT - lay inwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. Stood down to complete one satisfactory mobile trial. Raced fiercely in the early stages. Continued to over-race through the middle stages. Driver K Barron reported the filly had been jumping shadows and he would be recommending gear changes to trainer A Edge.
GREENBACK BOOGIE - raced wide early stages.
JUSTACE - held up by a weakening runner final bend and hung outwards when being restrained locking wheels with ADHARA for a short distance near the 350 metres. Held up early stages of the run home.
BIG MAMA MORRIS - paced roughly around the first bend.
SCHIAVONE - weakened final bend.
ADHARA - out of position at the start. Driver A Stewart was issued a warning. Locked wheels with JUSTACE for a short distance near the 350 metres causing the mare to break having to be restrained. Held up early stages of the run home.
LIZZIE RICHTER - broke near the 750 metres. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial.
Race 5   WOODLANDS STUD YOUNG AT HEART WINTER HANDICAP PACE
ART COLLECTOR - tangled at the start. Broke racing into the first bend after making contact with the sulky wheel of FLAMBOYANT. Driver J Morrison admitted driving carelessly in this incident and after viewing the films and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended his licence from the conclusion of racing on 18 July 2021 up to and including 25 July 2021 (2 days).
MY MATE BEN - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
MAGICAL MATTY - broke at the start.
FLAMBOYANT - over-raced middle stages. Driver J Herbert was spoken to advisedly for using her whip free of the rein on one occasion in the home straight.
TERRIER - over-raced middle stages.
FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ - began awkwardly.
DONEGAL CARRICKFIN - hampered by a breaking runner on the first bend
Race 6   MID-WINTER AT ADDINGTON - 6 AUGUST TROT
GREENBANK BETTY - paced roughly under pressure over the final stages.
ZSAHARA - broke racing into the first bend losing its chance.
TRES MAGNIFIQUE - driver B Weaver was warned for using his whip free of the rein on one occasion in the home straight. When questioned regarding the improved performance Mr Weaver advised the horse had recently benefited from a lung infection induced freshen up and trained on very well once fully recovered.
DREAMSINTHE MIST - held up throughout the run home.
SOUTH PARK - lay inwards on the bends.
Race 7   FAHEY FENCE HIRE MOBILE PACE
WEE RING THE CHANGES - held up throughout the run home. Driver J Dunn reported he did not activate the gelding's sliding blinds or removable deafeners in consequence.
MARKHAM EYRE - held up throughout the run home. Driver B Hope reported he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
EDGE SHEERAN - over-raced early stages when being restrained. Continued to over-race throughout.
HONOUR BEFORE GLORY - over-raced middle stages. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
IT'S ME - held up over the final stages.
Race 8   SPECTATORS - ICONIC KIWI ROAST $16 MOBILE PACE
BOLZANO - hung inwards final bend.
RIDE IN A CONCORDE - lay out and paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Over-raced middle stages.
