Race 1   CRAIG PADDON LAWYER TROT
MYSHOUT - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend.
CHEEKY MONKEY - broke racing round the first bend losing considerable ground. Broke again near the 700 metres losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing record. When questioned Driver L O'Reilly reported he felt the horse was slightly lame in its action. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
MILLIE'S GIFT - trotted roughly before breaking shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
WESTLAND PEAK - slow to begin then hampered by a breaking runner losing further ground in consequence. Broke passing the 1500 metres hampering a trailing runner.
TEASE MY TARTAN - broke passing the 1900 metres losing ground. Weakened final bend.
MAJESTIC WHISPER - checked and broke passing the 400 metres.
NIGHT WATCH - slow to begin. Hampered near the 1500 metres. Lay in through the middle stages. Lay in rounding the final bend checking an inside runner. Driver A Clark was spoken to regarding this where he explained that his runner had lay inwards throughout in objection to some steering gear and caused him some difficulty. Notwithstanding this Mr Clark was issued with a warning to make a greater effort to maintain a wider position. A warning was also placed on his filly's racing record. Mr Clark was further warned for using his whip free of the rein upon straightening for the run home.
Race 2   NZB STANDARDBRED MOBILE PACE
MATAI CHARLOTTE - placed in restricted room by an outside runner shortly after the start and paced roughly for a short distance when making contact with track markers. Over-raced middle stages.
PRODIGAL SON - a false start was declared when the gelding made contact with the mobile arm in the score up breaking and hampering CUTE ART with Trainer/Driver R Holmes electing to stay in his original position for the restart. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. Momentarily placed in restricted room in the early stages.
CUTE ART - paced roughly late in the score up losing some ground. Driver R May reported the mare had attempted to buck when becoming agitated through the false start.
MIDNITETRAINTOGEORGA - lay out in the run home.
OWES ME DOUGH - over-raced throughout when in the parked position.
SISTER ACT - out of position at the restart with Driver N Williamson reporting the filly had become agitated through the false start. Weakened final bend.
Race 3   NEVELE R STUD TROT
CODY BANNER - broke passing the 150 metres.
SHES SO RIGHT - lay out through the middle stages. Weakened final bend. Driver K Tomlinson reported she sustained a punctured sulky tyre in the early stages.
BARHAM BELLE - broke after 150 metres losing all chance. Stood down pending a satisfactory trial.
SOUTH PARK - when spoken to regarding the improved performance Driver J Morrison advised that with the addition of removable deafeners the mare was much more settled tonight and raced accordingly.
CUDDLY TROUBLE - briefly held up final bend by a weakening runner.
Race 4   GOLDEN FLEECE HOTEL MOBILE PACE
PHOEBE'S DELIGHT - had to be steadied leaving the first bend when an outside runner lay in.
ATARAH - held up final bend.
SEVENTH HEAVEN - Driver K Barclay reported that she dropped her whip at the beginning of the home straight.
CHANGE AT THE TOP - lay in leaving the first bend. Weakened final bend briefly locking wheels with LECONTE.
LECONTE - broke racing into the first bend losing considerable ground. Briefly locked wheels with CHANGE AT THE TOP final bend.
FORTY WIVES - raced four wide from the 600 metres. Junior Driver K Tomlinson reported that the gelding had lay in at various stages throughout.
Race 5   PAST PUBLICANS LYNETTE & BRUCE ANDERSON MOBILE PACE
UNCLE CHAN - hampered on several occasions by KERALA STAR in the run home. Junior Driver S Thornley advised that the gelding had raced ungenerously at stages throughout when attempting to avoid the rein pricker.
KERALA STAR - shifted out on several occasions in the run home. Driver R May reported that the gelding had raced greenly in the home straight when, and after, he had activated the removable gear.
MACH O'MELLEY - over-raced middle stages.
THE ARTFUL DODGER - raced four wide from the 600 metres.
TARTAN ROXY - hampered on several occasions by KERALA STAR in the run home.
Race 6   YALDHURST HOTEL TROT
DENN NEE'S SISTER - lost contact with the field near the 1600 metres. Locked wheels with TOM BRADY for some distance approaching the 600 metres.
MAJESTIC ROLLON - broke after 100 metres losing ground. Broke again passing the 1250 metres.
TOM BRADY - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Locked wheels with DENN NEE'S SISTER approaching the 600 metres when weakening.
MR OLYMPUS - broke briefly near the 150 metres losing ground.
T BONE RAWHIDE - broke near the 650 metres. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages. 5th place was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
Race 7   GLENBROOK PARK STANDARDBREDS MOBILE PACE
TETRICK - over-raced middle stages.
CONQUER ME - Driver R Holmes reported he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
IDEAL ASSET - lay in shortly after the start.
Race 8   ALLANS SHEET METAL MOBILE PACE
DACHY - over-raced middle stages. Broke leaving the final bend after contacting the sulky wheel of OHOKA AGENT. Driver I Goodman admitted a breach of careless driving with the Adjudicative Committee imposing a fine of $250.
HAMPTON - broke racing into the first bend losing considerable ground hampering trailing runners. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record.
DASHTOTHEBEACH - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
VON ART - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
OHOKA AGENT - sustained a punctured sulky tyre leaving the final bend.
WOLF WEST - hampered by a breaking runner racing into first bend. Lay in at various stages throughout. Weakened final bend.
FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ - over-raced in the score up. Trainer D O'Connell was issued with a warning for failing to correctly affix the deafeners which were not able to be released.
UNICO GEM - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Driver R May reported he was unable to activate the sliding blinds due to the cord becoming entangled. Mr May will be spoken to regarding his whip use on the final bend.
Driver R May (UNICO GEM) was issued a warning for using his whip free of the rein on one occasion on the final bend.
Race 9   BEAUMONT RACING CLUB TROTTERS CUP (HCP TROT)
SAMANTHAS MOON - broke after 100 metres.
ONE OVER ALL - Driver G Smith was warned for being late to arrive at the start. Mr Smith reported that due to the cord becoming caught he was not able to release the deafeners.
SUNNIVUE PHILEAH - lay in final bend when under pressure. The connections will be spoken to regarding the horses performance in the coming days.
SUNDONS FLYER - paced when being restrained to avoid a breaking runner and then broke after 100 metres losing ground.
CRUSHER COLLINS - stood on the mark and refused to move away losing all chance. Stood down to trial satisfactorily on one occasion.
KING OF THE NORTH - Junior Driver T Larsen reported the removable deafeners were not activated due to the cord becoming entangled.
SPRINGBANK MASON - Driver B Williamson was warned for being late to arrive at the start. Broke in the final stages of the home straight. 2nd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that the gelding had galloped less than 50 metres and was not lapped on at the finishing line. A final warning was placed on the gelding's racing record.
COUNT EYRE - checked by a breaking runner in the early stages and had to be steadied.
Race 10   TUAPEKA HARNESS RACING CLUB PACERS CUP (MOBILE PACE)
HAZER - weakened final bend and tightened an inside runner. Junior Driver S Tomlinson advised she had difficulty steering the gelding throughout.
CAST A SHADOW - came together briefly with OLIVE COOK when vying for the lead racing into the first bend.
OLIVE COOK - came together briefly with CAST A SHADOW when vying for the lead racing into the first bend.
MAYBE - held up final bend and then had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
WHATA RAZZLE DAZZLE - lay in final bend.
MUCHO MACHO MAN - raced without the notified deafeners as they were unable to be put in prior to the start. Raced wide early stages until being restrained to the rear of the field. Held up final bend.
AMERICAN MAC - placed in restricted room rounding the final bend.
AH MACH - over-raced in the score up and when being restrained to take cover in the early stages. Paced roughly final bend.
