Race 1   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS TROT
JESPER FAST - broke at the start. Held up final bend.
TINTED STUART - began awkwardly. Broke passing the 200 metres.
SASSAFRASS - broke at the start. Weakened from the 800 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer/Driver A Faulks reported that in his opinion the filly had held its breath and felt it may have a respiratory issue adding he will arrange for his veterinarian to examine the horse in the coming days. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
CHEEKY MONKEY - broke rounding the first bend losing all chance.
DREAMSINTHE MIST - broke racing into the first bend. Held up early stages of the run home.
MONARO MAKO - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
BUILD A BRIDGE - trainer B Hutton was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for presenting the mare without the notified blinds. Broke at the start losing ground. Broke again near the 2000 metres losing all chance.
WESTLAND PEAK - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
Race 2   WOODLANDS STUD MOBILE PACE
THE TERRORFIER - held up early stages of the run home.
MOODY RIVER - raced wide early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field. Forced to race four wide from the 600 metres.
SHEEZAGOLDENGIRL - raced wide early stages. Driver S Thornley reported the filly had resented the boring pole causing him some difficulty and he would be recommending gear changes prior to the horse resuming.
REGGIE GOLIGHTLY - paced roughly in the early stages. Over-raced middle stages. Hung inwards when improving wide from the 1500 metres. Weakened final bend.
Race 3   NEVELE R STUD "YOUNG AT HEART" MOBILE PACE
MORNINGSTAR GOLD - hung inwards and dislodged a track marker on the final bend.
MAGICAL MATTY - weakened final bend.
CAESAR'S QUEST - out of position at the candy pole. Driver L McKay was issued with a warning. Raced wide early stages and also four wide from the 600 metres. Driver L McKay reported the gelding had raced lethargically throughout and was of the opinion the horse had failed to back up from its race on Friday night. Stewards will follow up the recovery with connections in the coming days.
OLIVE COOK - hung inwards in the score up and was out of position at the candy pole. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. When spoken to regarding the performance driver M Williamson could offer no tangible explanation and advised he was disappointed with the effort.
DREAMINSOVER - held up final bend and briefly in the early stages of the run home.
ALEXY - driver D O'Connell admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulation in that he used his whip free of the rein throughout the home straight and after hearing penalty submissions Mr O'Connell's licence was suspended by the JCA from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 24 June 2021 (3 days).
PAY ME VISA - raced wide early stages.
Trainer J McDermott advised Stewards on 17 June that CAESAR'S QUEST has recovered well from last week's performances and worked pleasingly in preparation for a resumption at Addington on Sunday.
Race 4   NZB STANDARDBRED TROT
UNIQUE MARSHALL - broke at the start. Lay inwards on the final bend.
TRES MAGNIFIQUE - slow to begin.
ALI LINDENNY - held up final bend and for the majority of the run home.
TAKE AFTER ME - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer F Scott advised the gelding had been working hard in recent starts and had appreciated being driven with a sit today.
DD'S SUPER STUART - trotted roughly early stages. Driver C Markham was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight.
ALVIRA HEST - the required veterinary clearance was received.
SHES SO RIGHT - trotted roughly racing into the first bend.
UNIQUE ROSE - trainer M Edmonds reported the mare had been unsuited to racing parked.
SOUTH PARK - driver K Newman was spoken to and advised to ensure he starts wider on the track when drawn unruly. Cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
Race 5   PAUL RENWICK JOINERY FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
SEE ME NOW - paced roughly racing into the first bend and had to be steadied. Locked wheels with OPPORTUNITY KNOX leaving the final bend and lost all chance. Stewards viewed a replay of this incident and it was established that SEE ME NOW had been shifted wider on the track legitimately by MACH'S ELIMINATOR and had locked wheels with the improving OPPORTUNITY KNOX which had been unable to shift wider on the track after hanging inwards. Accordingly Stewards were satisfied that no driver was at fault and took the matter no further.
MACH'S ELIMINATOR - over-raced middle stages.
ROCKNROLL DIVA - raced wide early stages. Hampered on the final bend.
SCHIAVONE - raced wide early stages. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1300 metres. Hung inwards throughout the run home.
ZIA BROMAC - out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Raced wide early stages. Over-raced rounding the first bend and became awkwardly placed close to the sulky of ROCKNROLL DIVA.
LIZZIE RICHTER - broke near the 1300 metres. Broke again near the 600 metres. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
OPPORTUNITY KNOX - over-raced middle stages. Hung inwards and locked wheels with SEE ME NOW leaving the final bend and lost all chance.
ITZ THE CON ARTIST - weakened final bend.
Race 6   FAULKS INVESTMENT (JUNIOR DRIVERS) MOBILE TROT
MICHELLE - trotted roughly through the early stages losing ground. Hampered near the 1300 metres.
TYENE - hung outwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Trotted roughly through the early stages. Driver S Payne was warned for the manner he drove near the 1300 metres when shifting ground inwards crowding an inside runner with trailing runners also being hampered. Broke near the 900 metres hampering a trailing runner and lost all chance.
SALLY LINDENNY - out of position at the start. Driver L McKay was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice. Hampered near the 1300 metres.
TOLKIEN - hampered near the 1300 metres. Again hampered near the 900 metres. Driver T Larsen (assisted by C Markham) admitted using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight with an Information lodged and adjourned due to Mr Larsen having to leave the course due to a flight commitment.
YURI - broke just prior to the 100 metres and continued in a break to the finish line. Disqualified from 5th placing by the JCA.
Race 7   STORER MOTORS HANDICAP PACE
MILS MCARDLE - broke at the start. Broke again racing into the first bend and shifted outwards despite the efforts of driver B Butt hampering trailing runners. Continued to break on several occasions during the running. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and poor recovery. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
HARRISON - broke at the start.
FLAMBOYANT - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
MAYBE - held up final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
TAURUS - broke near the 2000 metres losing ground.
ART COLLECTOR - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Over-raced middle stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight.
PINK FLAMINGO RUN - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
PENELOPE BROMAC - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
TEDS LEGACY - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Weakened final bend.
TERRIER - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
THE BLACK SHADOW - over-raced middle stages.
NOT OVER - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Raced wide without cover from the 1100 metres. Weakened from the 600 metres.
Race 8   MID-WINTER AT ADDINGTON MOBILE PACE
DONEGAL CARNBOUY - weakened leaving the final bend.
BETTOR BEONTOIT - over-raced middle stages.
UNICO GEM - weakened final bend.
THE OPTIMIST - out of position at the start. Driver K Cameron was issued a warning. Lay inwards on the final bend striking track markers.
Race 9   AVON CITY FORD PACE
CHEEKYGRIN - began awkwardly
IT'S A SHAWTHING - broke at the start. Driver O Thornley (assisted by K Cameron) was warned for her lack of control by allowing her runner to improve when insufficient room existed to the inside of YANKEE JAY which shifted outwards marginally near the 900 metres after a slight easing of the pace.
ARMINIUS - broke shortly after the start. Weakened final bend hampering trailing runner.
FRANCO MACHO - broke racing into the first bend.
ALL BY MYSELF - charged the barrier strand causing a delay to the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly, Hampered final bend by a weakening runner.
PURE COURAGE - broke briefly shortly after the start. Paced roughly passing the 1400 metres.
YANKEE JAY - had to be steadied near the 900 metres after a slight easing of the pace and shifted outwards marginally before being forced to a three wide position after IT'S A SHAWTHING improved to its inside.
Race 10   FIRST DIRECT TAXIS MOBILE PACE
FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ - hampered early in the run home and held up throughout the run home.
ARTATAC - hampered early in the run home.
JUST MICHAEL - hung inwards throughout the run home.
AVEROSS RUSTLER - raced wide early stages.
SKIDADDLE - hung outwards final bend when weakening. Hung inwards abruptly entering the home straight hampering trailing runners despite the efforts of driver B Butt. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
HONOUR SCROLL - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Held up early stages of the run home.
MAGIC SIGN - hampered early in the run home.
SPORTSCAM - broke passing the 1500 metres when over-racing losing all chance and was retired from the event. Trainer/driver J Cox reported the horse would be sent for a spell. Stood down pending one satisfactory trial.
