Race 1   TOKO TIMBER TROT
A false start was declared when the barrier strand failed to release.
JASMINE JACCKA - lay outwards under pressure over the final stages.
MAJESTIC JAG - lay inwards on the bends through the middle stages. Trotted roughly over the final stages.
MYSHOUT - held up by a weakening runner on the final bend.
IN THE GROOVE - slow in the early stages.
PEARLSPUR - broke racing into the first bend. Again broke passing the 1900 metres losing its chance.
MAJESTIC WHISPER - lay outwards throughout the final straight.
KIWI HEIR - raced wide from the 700 metres. Cast a bell boot in the run home.
Race 2   FAIRVIEW SOUTH OTAGO MOBILE PACE
ANNETTE - trainer B Negus was fined $100 for presenting his filly with sliding blinds which had not been notified. Hung outwards in the early stages of the run home and near the 150 metres made contact with the wheel of ICARUS FALLS, galloping in consequence. S Thornley was questioned regarding this where he explained his rein had become caught on the boring pole hampering his ability to straighten his horse.
SOUTHERN STARR - placed in restricted room over the final stages when runners either side shifted ground.
HELEN OF TROY - held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
MY TERN - raced roughly in the score up and the early stages and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the horse's barrier record. Raced fiercely in the early stages causing driver S Ottley some difficulty. A warning was placed on the horse's racing record. Weakened near the 500 metres and compounded over the final stages. When questioned Miss Ottley reported the horse to have been contacting its own sulky wheels throughout.
AH MACH - driver N Williamson advised he had some difficulty steering his runner over the final stages which shifted ground outwards and that he had not been able to fully test his runner.
GREENBACK BOOGIE - had to shift wide near the 1300 metres to allow the unrestrainable MY TERN to shift away from the marker line. Lay inwards over the final stages.
Race 3   ROD FOX CONTRACTING LTD MOBILE TROT
MAJESTIC ROLLON - broke late in the score up and lost its chance. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record.
IT'S SUMMERTIME - over raced middle stages. Broke passing the 1100 metres and lost its chance.
BARHAM BELLE - lay outwards and trotted roughly in the early stages. Crowded racing into the first bend. Weakened approaching the 400 metres.
THE PEAKY BLINDER - broke in the early stages. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
DEM BONES DEM BONES - out of position at the candy pole and start. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record. Trotted roughly throughout. Briefly hampered by a breaking runner near the 1100 metres. Trainer R Hanson was issued with a warning for failing to correctly fasten the deafeners when they were not able to be released by driver K Tomlinson.
LATINA HALL - hung inwards on the first bend crowding an inside runner. Weakened passing the 500 metres.
Race 4   IONA LEA TEXEL & SUFTEX STUD MOBILE PACE
THE ARTFUL DODGER - raced keenly in the score up and throughout the running.
DARE TO DEFY - weakened near the 800 metres. B Williamson reported the horse had been striking its knees throughout with the knee boot becoming dislodged passing the 1100 metres in consequence. A post-race veterinary examination showed no abnormality. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing performance.
FRIENDLY EYRE - hampered by a weakening runner near the 750 metres.
CUTE ART - broke late in the score up and lost its chance. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record.
TAURUS BROMAC - raced wide in the early and middle stages. Weakened final bend.
MAGICAL STAR - raced wide in the early and middle stages.
MORRISSEY - raced erratically racing into the first bend. Raced fiercely near the 1100 metres and could not be restrained by driver S Ottley making contact with the sulky of THE ARTFUL DODGER and proving difficult thereafter. Miss Ottley explained she had not been able to steer the horse throughout. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
MALDITO - held up by weakening runners on the final bend.
Driver C Ferguson (MAGICAL STAR) was spoken to advisedly regarding the manner he shifted ground near the 700 metres.
Race 5   WYNYARD TRANSPORT LTD HANDICAP TROT
RUBY SEDDON - lay inwards racing round the bends. Trotted roughly in the home straight and could not be fully pressured. Driver N Williamson advised he would no longer carry a whip with this runner in future. Mr Williamson was spoken to advisedly for allowing his runner to shift ground outwards in the final straight.
TOP POCKET CHANCE - broke near the 1300 metres losing its chance and was retired from the event. Trainer C Buchan reported the horse would now be sent for a spell.
BOYZ INVASION - broke at the start and lost ground.
HARRY H - weakened over the final stages. When questioned regarding the gelding's performance driver S Tomlinson explained the gelding had raced lethargically throughout. The connections advised they would give consideration to spelling the horse.
CRUSHER COLLINS - tangled at the start.
Race 6   FORESTRY ROADING SERVICES (FRS) MOBILE PACE
BETTORS ATOM - over raced in the score up.
TO RI CAITLIN - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
VON ART - crowded shortly after the start and had to be restrained. Raced wide in the early stages.
BELLE'S BOY - raced roughly in the early stages when being taken forwards. Broke racing into the first bend having to be restrained. Broke again near the 1700 and then again at the 1200 metres losing its chance. Stood down pending a satisfactory trial. Trainer E Swain reported the horse would now be sent for a spell.
SHARDS IN MANHATTAN - raced wide with cover from the 1400 metres.
SZYBKA LANE - over raced passing the 1200 metres when being restrained to surrender the parked position. Hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
FROSTY RECEPTION - weakened final bend.
DON'T QUOTE ME - raced wide from the 1400 metres.
ART COURAGE - raced wide from the 1400 metres and without cover from the 900 metres.
Race 7   JOE HERBERT CONTRACTING LTD MOBILE PACE
ZIRCON LASS - over raced in the middle stages. Broke passing the 700 metres when contacted by GLASSY WEBB which shifted inwards.
MACH O'MELLEY - weakened from the 800 metres.
KERALA STAR - checked and broke near the 650 metres. Junior driver T Larsen was warned regarding his use of the whip on a runner which was out of contention. In taking this action Stewards spoke with Mr Larsen about working with a senior driver as a mentor to increase his understanding of the Whip Regulations and to ensure his whip action is modified to a compliant style.
GLASSY WEBB - broke briefly late in the score up. Raced wide from the 900 metres. Driver J Morrison was questioned regarding an incident near the 700 metres where his runner shifted inwards which caused a check to ZIRCON LASS and then KERALA STAR. After considering his explanation Mr Morrison was issued with and admitted a careless driving charge. After making penalty submissions his horseman's license was suspended from the conclusion of racing on 13th of June until the end of racing on 20th of June (3 days).
Race 8   MILTON NIGHT N' DAY MOBILE PACE
MIDNIGHT IN MEMPHIS - held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
ALEXY - over raced in the middle stages. D O'Connell was spoken to regarding using his whip free of the rein on one occasion in the run home.
AMERICAN MAC - broke prior to the start and lost considerable ground. A warning was placed on the horse's barrier record.
JODY DIREEN - B Orange will be spoken to regarding his use of the whip in the run home.
Driver B Orange (JODY DIREEN) was spoken to advisedly for using his whip free of the rein on one occasion late in the run home.
