Race 8 - VERO 3 YEAR OLD FLYING STAKES (MOBILE PACE)
Driver N Rasmussen (ROCK LEGEND) admitted a charge of careless driving in that she shifted inwards on the final bend forcing YOROKOBI over track markers. After hearing penalty submissions the JCA suspended her licence from the conclusion of racing on 9 April 2021 up to and including 18 April 2021 (3 days).

Race 1   SPECTATORS $15 DAILY DEALS TROT
There was a delay to the start to accommodate an Australian race being shown on Trackside.
LA REINA DEL SUR - fractious behind the barriers causing driver O Thornley difficulty when coming into position. Stood on the mark and refused to move losing all chance. The all clear was delayed when the owners T Casey and Ms K Marriott requested the opportunity to view the films believing their filly had been denied a fair start. After speaking with the Starter and his assistant, driver O Thornley and the owners, Stewards deemed the filly to be a runner. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier record.
TOP POCKET CHANCE - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
ROYAL PRIDE - hung inwards leaving the final bend and struck several track markers.
ARRAN CHIEF - driver A Faulks was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight.
SUGARINSPICE - trotted roughly near the 700 metres after making contact with the sulky wheel of GLOBAL FLIGHT. Driver R Holmes admitted driving carelessly in this incident and after viewing the films and hearing penalty submissions, Mr Holmes licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing on 9 April 2021 up to and including 16 April 2021 (3 days).
GLOBAL FLIGHT - weakened final bend. Driver A Lethaby reported she sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 700 metres.
ISLA ELSIE - trotted roughly and broke passing the 850 metres losing all chance.
RED HARBOUR - cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
HE'S A CASSANOVA - weakened final bend.
Race 2   CANTERBURY STANDARDBRED BREEDERS STAKES (MOBILE PACE)
ANNIE RICHTER - held up early and middle stages of the home straight.
A TASTE OF HONEY - raced wide early stages before being restrained towards the rear. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver K Barclay advised it had been her intention to race on the pace however her mare had been lethargic and unresponsive causing her to become positioned further back than anticipated in the early stages.
A DELIGHTFUL ACT - broke in the latter stages of the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
SHE'S TOUGH - paced roughly shortly after the start and was restrained. Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Paced roughly near the 1600 metres having to be steadied.
ENCHANTEE - weakened over the final stages. When spoken to regarding the performance driver G O'Reilly reported the mare had been disappointing and he felt may be better suited when driven with a sit.
LULU LE MANS - weakened over the final stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery with blood tests recommended. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
Race 3   AVON CITY FORD HANDICAP PACE
EL SIRRAR - broke rounding the first bend checking trailing runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
HE'S TOUGH - slow to begin and paced roughly in the early stages. Checked by a breaking runner rounding the first bend.
BETTOR CALL ME - weakened passing the 300 metres. When questioned regarding the performance driver N Williamson explained the colt had travelled well throughout but offered nothing when asked for an effort inside the final 400 metres. Trainer G Smith was only able to advise he had been disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
LOYALIST - held up final bend. Struck track markers leaving the final bend.
ARTATAC - shifted to a three wide position approaching the 600 metres but despite the efforts of driver S Ottley was not able to improve so shifted back inwards with the gelding then being held up on the final bend and early stages of the run home.
RADIOACTIVE JAFFA - broke at the start. Held up early stages of the run home.
JAKE - again fractious prior to the start causing a delay. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
TERROR MARIA - held up early and middle stages of the run home. Driver B Butt was spoken to for using his whip with more than than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight.
ASHES TO ASHES - inconvenienced by a breaking runner near the 2200 metres with the gelding having to race wide for a short distance.
NOT REALLY BLONDE - stood on the mark losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
BETTOR GRUNTER - broke at the start. Raced wide without cover from the 800 metres.
NO NUKES SKIPPER - inconvenienced by a breaking runner near the 2200 metres with the gelding having to race wide for a short distance.
TERRIER - held up final bend.
MUCHO MACHO MAN - raced roughly after 200 metres when racing wide and attempting to take up a position close to the lead and had to be steadied causing the gelding to lose ground. Paced roughly for a distance through the middle stages when racing parked. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
KISS THE GIRLS - raced four wide without cover from the 600 metres.
Trainer G Smith advised Stewards on 7 April that BETTOR CALL ME was subjected to vet assessments which revealed no abnormalities with Mr Smith adding that the colt has worked well in preparation for its engagement tonight.
Race 4   WOODLANDS STUD TROTTERS FLYING MILE (MOBILE TROT)
PRES THE BELLE - trotted roughly throughout the final straight.
OSCAR BONAVENA - when spoken to regarding the entire's performance the connections advised the horse had trialed well on one occasion leading into tonight's race but having been away from racing since 1 February 2020 lacked race fitness and whilst they were confident of a forward performance said the runner would derive considerable benefit from the performance tonight.
SPLASH COLA - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record. Checked and broke near the 400 metres.
ONE APOLLO - trotted roughly and broke passing the 400 metres hampering a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record.
Race 5   'MAJESTIC SON' NEW ZEALAND 2YO TROTTING STAKES (MOB TROT)
TE RAPA - broke at the start losing all chance.
NIGHT WATCH - lay outwards under pressure on the final bend.
HIGHGROVE - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the gelding did not gallop in excess of 150 metres in the early stages.
MR LOVE - broke passing the 400 metres.
MYSTIC MAX - broke with 60 metres remaining and continued on in a gallop to the finish line. Disqualified from 5th placing by the JCA.
Race 6   MAGNESS BENROW SIRES' STAKES (HEAT 3) MOBILE PACE
MILLWOOD INDIE - paced roughly in the early stages and had to be steadied. Driver B Butt reported his filly to have raced greenly throughout.
TRUE FANTASY - paced roughly for a short distance after the start.
MARY AUSTIN - gave ground final bend.
CHANTILLY - presented with removable deafeners which had not been notified. Caretaker trainer J Whittaker was issued with a warning.
A BETTOR YOU - raced greenly in the home straight.
Race 7   BRECKON FARMS EASTER CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
A G'S WHITE SOCKS - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened final bend.
Race 8   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS MOBILE TROT
IDEAL INVASION - briefly crowded racing into the first bend. Broke passing the 900 metres losing all chance.
MAJESTIC CHICK - hung inwards racing into the first bend briefly crowding inside runner. Broke near the 300 metres.
KIWITRIX - raced wide early stages. Trotted roughly throughout the final straight.
SON OF PATRICK - raced wide early stages.
ANDY HALL - raced wide early and middle stages.
BOYZ INVASION -slow to leave the pre-race circle causing the gelding to have to work hard in the score up to try and take up its position. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
AMERICAN PRIDE - raced wide without cover from the 800 metres.
SIOUX PRINCESS - raced wide early stages. Trotted roughly in the home straight.
EUROKASH - hampered by a weakening runner near the 400 metres.
Race 9   SILVERMOON LADIES' NIGHT - MAY 21 - MOBILE PACE
IT'S ALL ABOUT FAITH - when spoken to regarding the performance the connections advised that they had intended for the colt to race closer to the pace or lead however this evening the horse had scored up in a far more tractable manner than previously and so driver M Purdon elected not to hurry his runner in the early stages which previously may have lead to it over-racing. They added in their opinion the horse's performance tonight had been an improvement on recent efforts and would continue with the Derby preparation.
Race 10   FIRST DIRECT TAXIS MOBILE PACE
FIVE STAR GENERAL - hung outwards throughout the run home. When spoken to regarding the gelding's performance driver B Butt explained it had been unsuited to working through the early stages to take up a forward position and proved slightly disappointing over the final stages.
PASSION AND POWER - weakened over the final stages. When spoken to regarding the filly's performance driver T Williams reported he was very disappointed with the filly's effort over the final stages. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
TAXMAN - held up early and middle stages of the home straight.
MOSSMAN - lay inwards on the bend approaching the 1000 metres and after being taken wider to the parked position attempted to again shift inwards despite the efforts of driver S Tomlinson and in doing so made contact with the sulky wheel of TEAGAN BANNER (undamaged).
JIMMY ARMA - had to be heavily restrained near the 150 metres when improving rapidly onto the back of the weakening MOSSMAN.
Stable representative J Dunn advised Stewards on 7 April that PASSION AND POWER has recovered well following its run at Addington on Saturday and will continue with its preparation at Methven this weekend.
