Race 1   CARTOWN MOBILE PACE
SECRET DREAM - paced roughly in the middle stages of the score up. Commenced to give ground near the 500 metres. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
IT'S A LAUGH - raced three wide early. When questioned regarding the improved performance Trainer S Dickson stated that he felt the gelding had been better suited by the firmer track tonight.
PAINTED LADY - weakened in the run home.
MOP - raced three wide early. Commenced to give ground near the 500 metres. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
AURELIA COTTA - held up rounding the final turn.
Race 2   OUTBACK TRADING CO HANDICAP TROT
OUR PEGASUS PEARL - lay in at various stages. Held up early final turn and then had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight.
CEPHEUS - stood on the mark when the barrier strands were released losing ground.
THANK YOU - raced four wide briefly near the 1100 metres.
ARDEE TROUBLE - improved forward middle stages and had a look for the lead but then was retrained to take up a position three back on the markers near the 1350 metres.
GAZZA GALLEON - raced three wide from the 1100 metres.
THE HULK - when questioned regarding the performance Driver J Abernethy stated that tonight's tempo had been considerably stronger than the first day and that the gelding had found it difficult from the 30 metre handicap as a result.
Race 3   PAT O'BRIEN MEMORIAL GRADUATION FINAL (MOBILE PACE)
CHRIS KYLE - Driver S Doody was cautioned for crossing his reins over the latter stages of the run home.
ELEPHANTINTHEROOM - paced roughly entering the first turn. Raced three wide early and middle stages before improving to sit parked near the 1100 metres. Commenced to weaken from the 600 metres. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
NEEDAMARGARITA - raced three wide early. Weakened final stages.
WRIGGLES RUFUS - broke early in the score up but was in position prior to dispatch. Commenced to weaken from the 600 metres. A post race veterinary examination revealed mild dehydration.
GREENBACK BOOGIE - held up by a weakening runner racing down the back the final time.
ZIRCON LASS - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners. Weakened final stages. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
EASY DOES IT - over-raced rounding the first turn and entering the back straight. Paced roughly passing the 1100 metres and was then taken forward to race outside the leader near the 950 metres.
KHAL DROGO - weakened final stages.
Race 4   MANAWATU ITM MOBILE PACE
SILVER LADY - held up early final turn. Contacted a marker peg when attempting to improve to the inside of MAC PAUA in the passing lane early in the run home.
PETER FORSBERG - raced three wide early.
MIDNIGHT IN MEMPHIS - commenced to improve three wide near the 1100 metres but then lay in and was obliged to remain three wide when unable to secure the position outside the leader which was being held by PETER FORSBERG. Driver P Ferguson was spoken to advisedly for using his whip free of the rein on one occasion approaching the 1000 metres.
BUDVAR EYRE - raced three wide early.
EMMI ROSE - back a length at dispatch. Driver T Mitchell was issued with a warning.
DOWNTOWN BABE - gave ground final turn.
Race 5   CITY OF PALMERSTON NORTH FESTIVAL GOLD CUP (MOB PACE)
BROOKIES JAFFA - held up leaving the back straight and rounding the final turn.
CHASE THE HAT TRICK - Driver P Ferguson had difficulty activating the deafeners early in the run home.
THE KAPITI EXPRESS - raced three wide early. Commenced to weaken approaching the 400 metres. When questioned regarding the performance Trainer D Gale advised that the gelding had failed to settle when racing outside the leader.
MOGUL - raced wide from the 1000 metres.
SUPERBASS - improved three wide without cover from the rear near the 1050 metres. Forced four wide passing the 900 metres before improving to race outside the leader near the 500 metres. Only battled in the run home to finish in 7th place beaten 9.1 lengths. When questioned Driver B Butcher advised that the midrace effort had taken its toll.
EAGLE WATCH - hampered when held up by a weakening runner entering the final turn and then raced in restricted room briefly.
NEW YORK MINUTE - shifted out early in the run home when clear of other runners.
Race 6   T MARKET FRESH MOBILE PACE
MADAME CONNOISTRE - weakened final turn.
HOPEING FOR GLORY - shifted out when leading entering the back straight the final time before being corrected back down to the marker line.
HEZASHADOWPLAYA - attempted to improve to the inside of HOPEING FOR GLORY near the 500 metres but then paced roughly and was restrained after contacting a marker peg approaching the 400 metres when HOPEING FOR GLORY shifted back down to the marker line. Driver S Abernethy was shown the replays and spoken to advisedly in relation to this incident.
ACE STRIKE - broke in the early stages of the score up losing ground before settling. Placed on the unruly for future mobiles.
THE BLUE BEAT - raced three wide early.
CLASSEY ROBIN - over-raced middle stages. Held up by a weakening runner rounding the final turn.
Race 7   CHAPPLE ARCHITECTURE MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared at the first attempt when CRIMSON RAIN and RAKE locked wheels when commencing to score up.
RAKE - Driver P Ferguson advised that he did not activate the removeable deafeners due to having the field covered.
CRIMSON RAIN - paced roughly shortly after the start. Weakened final stages.
STARRY STAR - paced roughly shortly after the start. Over-raced early and middle stages when outside the leader. Commenced to weaken when passing the 1400 metres and was retired from the event. Driver A Poutama advised that he felt the mare had started to choke down in this incident. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality other than mild dehydration. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
EDAMFAST - pulled hard during the score up and was back marginally at dispatch. No action was taken given the false start.
DRAMATIST - gave ground final turn.
ADIEU FLIRT - lay in rounding the turns. Unsuccessfully challenged for the lead midrace.
Race 8   POWER FARMING MOBILE PACE
GOLDEN LACE - underwent a veterinary examination after Trainer R Dickson had informed Stewards that the mare had been involved in a minor incident earlier in the day and was passed fit to start. Broke at the start losing all chance and was retired from the event. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners.
TICKING OVER - when spoken to regarding the improved performance Trainer S Dickson stated that he felt the gelding had been better suited with the firmer track along with being able to lead from the front line barrier draw.
CARSE O FERN TOM - raced three wide early.
BOILOVER - over-raced middle stages. Held up early final turn.
ZIP CODE - Driver S Abernethy was shown the replay and spoken to advisedly regarding the manner in which he shifted ground near the 300 metres.
OHOKA BANDIT - briefly placed in restricted room near the 300 metres when ZIP CODE shifted ground outwards.
CHA CHA B - checked and broke early in the score up but was able to fill its position prior to the candy pole. Broke near the 600 metres but soon settled.
THE GREENKEEPER - broke early in the score up checking CHA CHA B which broke. Broke again near dispatch and trailed the field throughout. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
